The way this song was constructed was such a goshdarn mess that I just went ahead and redid the whole thing. Kind of glad I did, but this one had a few fun features to it. I just felt it was way too overcrowded for most of its run.
Just wanna say that I love the final version of Tidal Gate a lot too, but man some of the chords in this beta version give me absolute chills, so thank you for making both!
Tidal Gate is one of my favorites from all of Freedom Planet 2. Its beta version sounds nice but I love how the final result turned out. Gives that exotic place feeling!
I really loved how the high pitched vibrato notes sounded a lot like sea birds in this version. I think the final version fit the stage better, but I really loved the way the instruments each had their own part to say in this version, even if its vision was a little muddy. Keep up the great work, and looking forward to your next soundtrack!
Leila this would be a good Tidal gate theme for a Tidal Gate with tons of Beachgoers in the ocean and on some of the islands. in the background. Possibly in FP3 if Galaxytrail ever makes one. The overcrowded parts would help make a future Tidal Gate feel like a Bustling Vacation Spot for both Parsuians and Avalicians. During Avalices Summer.
I think that the final version was the right choice, but I still love this version too. It just sounds so nice! Also, I just want to say, both of the Freedom Planet games are my favourite games ever, and I really love your work on the soundtracks. When I play those games, I'm constantly humming or whistling along to the tunes and bopping my head all over the place, I'm almost dancing in my seat!
I even bought both of them on Bandcamp so I could download them and listen to them all the time. They honestly might be some of the best I've ever heard, even many of the beta tracks are great (like this one). I also appreciate the document included with the OST of the first game where you talk about most of the songs in detail and the behind-the-scenes process for them. It's a pretty cool addition! Thank you so much for making these awesome songs!
I love how there's a melancholic feel to this compared to the one we have now. This was the water dragons' home before they were killed and now any evidence that they existed has all but been wiped away, save for their skeletal remains in the Ancestral Forge.
Regardless of what version of Tidal Gate this is, it is still a banger of a track.
The part at 3:40 where the saxophone joins in sounds soooo good! Both this version and the final version of the track are great!

Also would be good for a Tidal Gate with tons on Beach goers in the ocean to. As there isn’t that many beach goers in the actual FP2 Tidal Gate.
Sonic Chrono Adventure proves that a Sonic Metroidvania works, so it’s not out of the question
Ooooo Jazzy. I think I like this version of Tidal Gate more then the final version not saying the final one is a bad track cuz it isn’t. Its my favorite Stage theme in the game.
0:00-0:34 ....is it just me, or is that a variant of Metallic Madness (good future, J/E) in the background there?
Thought this was reworked to be the Adventure Square theme. Guess not.
I think this fits Tidal Gate more than what we got
edit: i just realised that this is technically the second incarnation of Tidal Gate as the Parusa Map theme was originally meant for Tidal Gate
I disagree. While I do think this version is good, the tropical/exotic sound of the final version is way more fitting for the Mediterranean-inspired area that is Parusa. Not to mention that the final version's soundfont help separate Parusa from the rest of the world and establish it as somewhere new, whereas this version's soundfont makes it sound more like a Shang Tu level.

i wouldn't say that parusa is mediterranean inspired, i'd say it's moreso inspired by the southeast of asia, mainly the philipines, but yeah you got a point.
