I’ve been on Memento since Valiant Smashers and I got all of the new cards yesterday during a preview tournament. I wasn’t on the Sequence/Gryphon Extra Deck since I wasn’t fully aware of it at the time, and it still felt very oppressive going first. Now that I understand more about the Sequence combo, I’m convinced that Memento is the single best going first deck in the format, and I greatly appreciate this combo guide!
@@Tristan_jpg no mementos is strong with beatrice since u can make zarc via roll back and have memes trap to pop it to place it in pend zone while alrdy having rank 5 artifact to make em reshuffle hand and draw then zarc pops all cards they drew.
@@alexandervailili Memento's strength comes in the variety of its endboard and I do agree that a lot of them are super oppressive, but those are usually hard to access, requiring 2 cards combo, or simply being very weak to interruptions. I didn't mean to say that Memento is weak, I'm currently playing the deck and I believe it has all it needs to perform at high level.
I had to use it on the Duel Nexeus website to learn it through a week's worth of online matches. You'll get through it and if it's confusing after every game go back to how a few combos work out. I love it now that I'm familiar with it.
One spell like dark hole or raigeki / storm or ttt and your board is useless.. i just think that is better to use bone party on tridragon to special goblin, and with goblin and ghattic on board make Herald link 2. So in that case you have a spell negate too.
The big combo is actually achievable with Darkblade, Angwitch OR Horse without additional extenders. So you can basically do it every game if you play through interruptions and the other combolines you showcased become unnecessary. Also you forgot that gryphon can set you one of your spells/traps from the gy. Thats one of the biggest reasons this combo line is so strong. You always have both the fusion and bone party set to make some nasty plays. The trap is not worth it imo because you dont want to draw it and because fusion by itself can also summon guardian chimera (which imo is even better now in this deck with the support)
@@TheChaserTCG So the setup u wanna achieve for Gryphon combo is Witch - Ghattic - Sheep and it can be easily achieved starting with Witch/Dark Blade obviously but also Zebra (send Gatthic+Witch, Gatthic revive, add Witch, normal Witch, add Sheep, special Sheep). From there fuse into Twin leaving Sheep on board, Twin effect to destroy Sheep and add Horned and Combined Creation. New chain Sheep gy effect dumping Fusion spell. Fusion gy effect destroy twin to add another Fusion, Twin effect revive Witch. Special Horned and link with Witch into Cross-sheep, Fusion effect with Sheep, Ghattic and Twin to make Combined King, Cross-sheep 1, Combined 2 sending depending on what you started with: If you started with Zebra/Witch you send Ghattic, Sheep and Dark Blade, Cross-Sheep summons Dark Blade, Dark Blade pops fusion to special Mace, Fusion GY effect to add Field Spell, Mace effect pop Dark Blade to add Bone party, Field spell triggers to revive Witch. If you started with Dark Blade you send another copy of Combined King, Mace and Ghattic and Cross-Sheep revives Mace, Fusion GY effect to add Field spell, activate, then Mace pops Fusion to add Bone Party, Field spell triggers tor revive Witch. Bone Party destroying the Combined Creation we had in hand to summon random name (we need the spell in GY for Selene). Link Cross-Sheep + Witch into Selene gaining 3 counters and reviving Witch. Mace into Anima, Selene and random body into Gryphon (Important Gryphon effect discarding a card to set Bone Party in GY into S/T, we also draw since he is co-linked). Gryphon + Anima into Fiendsmith Sequence, effect shuffling Cross-Sheep and Ghattic for Berfomet that sends Ghattic to gy. Witch Effect destroying herself to special Ghattic, link away with Berfomet for Yama, then everything into Apo, if you got hand trapped and don't have enough bodies just go into S:P that can Banish Gryphon so that Berfomet GY effect can revive (this will also give your opponent no arrows unlike Apo). You could also do some lines where with Berfomet you send Diabellze, banish her with S.P and revive her during opponents turn with Berfomet GY effect, can be helpful vs Decks that rely on quick play spells like Runick. The Yubel board is way stronger, but it’s true that the Gryphon board is very nice.

Man, this deck is complicated.
