@@15scottie Saw another interview with him recently where he said he's now sober. Realized he had a problem when he woke up with a hangover, went to the fridge in the garage to hit a bottle of vodka to ward off the hangover. Wife (now ex-wife) confronted him, he said was going to quit for good. Said he hasn't had a drink since, even though that marriage ended in divorce.
He looks like he's been changing the oil on his car! On a diff note: His book, The Gospel, According to Luke, is really good! I love to read the writing of the musicians! Don Felder, Richard Marx, and Art Garfunkel. Oh yeah, Kenny Loggins!!

My favorite guitar player of ALL TIME. All consuming HATRED has been dismantling world for years now. It pretty much started with destroying Michael Jackson years ago. Seriously ... There are people who love and create, and then there's people who HATE. Unfortunately anyone making an effort to do good in this world is being torn down by EVIL. Just glad that I'm older, and have all those beautiful memories of when days were good. That's all we have now. Memories. I can literally watch 'I'll be over you' 35th Anniversary performance 1000 times,, and cry every time. That was almost 10 years ago. Steve looks like absolute hell. Maybe it's time for him to join Huey Lewis, and just move to middle of nowhere to enjoy whatever time he has left. Obviously all this is wearing him down. My heart aches for all the amazing, creative and good people of this world. There is so much hate and fighting, it's unbearable. May God bless this man, no matter what.
Steve is amazing, met him and the other guys in Houston and Cali. Steve and David talked with me like we were friends which was incredible to me and my Sister. Very sad that some people only live for themselves and have done so much damage to the Toto members and name. I don't think that is what Jeff or Michael would have wanted. God bless Steve and the rest of the guys.
Steve and I are both born 1957. He knows as well as anyone that life has wins and losses. We love Toto and Luke. Fans are like friends-You cannot go out and get OLD FRIENDS. 👊🙏👍

Just seen Toto in St Louis on the 21rst, they were absolutely incredible. The new band sounds awesome and I was excited to finally get to see them. Check them out they are finishing the Journey tour in place of Billy Idol.
One of the 20 greatest guitarists ever. I love how he just doesn't give a shit anymore and just does what he wants to do. Good for him!! He's earned it!!
I appreciate Luke's transparency on navigating the difficulties of running a legendary super band in its twilight years. Sure, its easy for the critics and haters to drop 'coulda woulda shoulda' opinions on the questionable business decisions made by Toto members during their prime years. But the truth of the matter is regardless of the occupation, when you are young and spry things like protecting your intellectual property and investing for the future are often an afterthought. This is especially true for those whose occupation is in the musical entertainment industry.
Very true. What guy in his early 20's thinks of hiring a good lawyer to protect his interests regarding getting into a band. You have no idea whether you'll ever be successful and the primary reason is you have no money at that age! It's later on when you're older and wiser you realize you were screwed out of millions.
Great interview of a phenomenal talent. If you haven’t done so already, pick up by Steve Lukather’s book “The Gospel According To Luke”. But even better get the audiobook. Steve reads it and it’s absolutely fascinating and interesting all the people he’s performed with and albums he’s played on. I’ve listened to it 3 times already.
I went to Journey with Toto opening... Toto blew them away and had me wishing it was 2 hours with Toto instead. Journey just seemed to mail it in, we left early.
