- today the 25th of april is Ella Fitzgerald Birthday born in 1917 en passed away in 1996.I waith till today to upload this concert till her birthdate.For me she is the greatest meeting of vocal jazz in my life.Thanks for that.I like to start with this concert.It was the first concert for dutch television.It was in the winter of 1957.She was there with Jazz at the Philharmonic.It was the 7th worldtour. The songs: Just one of those things, anything but love and lulluby of birdland. Happy Birthday Ella thanks for all the songs.I promisse you i will show you again and again here on youtube.
Came here on Ella's 100 Birthday. Such an extremely gifted, beautiful, modest (!) Person, that gave people the greatest joy. I love her, her music, her intertextual jokes that tell you, what a treasury of musical knowledge she was... I can't think of any other artist that had or has all that. Let us forever remember and treasure Ella, the First Lady od Song!

WOW, the opening bars of "I Can't Give You Anything But Love" she doesn't get near the melody for 2 1/2 measures. Then there are a lot of other beautiful melodic improvisational moments, it is quite simply an unbelievable performance..
You truly earned each and every accolade, and title bestowed upon you, and THEN SOME!

Great! Can someone explain to me, why all these wonderful recordings, which can be bought on a CD, are allowed ... and more than 100 of my covers, in which I made a great performer "unusable" with my own voice on top of it, were thrown out by the copyright-owners? wolf175
