this was an amazing video, i am not the mechanic , but i am the owner of a 2014 crv that needs this service. it has given me a huge insight as to the scope of this job. i am going to try and shatre this with the actual honda tech. thank you very much
This is awesome thanks. The tensioner doesn't appear very extended though at 15:50. I'm wondering if the problem there is a weak tensioner rather than a stretched chain.
I hate to be the "You did it wrong" guy but I have a minor gripe. That's waaay too much sealer on the ft cover. It is two extremely flat, machined surfaces coming together so it only needs a coating as thick as a piece of paper. But guys think they have to slather it on "to be safe", so they don't have a leak and it just ends up making a mess or worse yet ends up in the oil pick up screen.

Need a harmonic balancer socket. Zips right off. Great step by step though!
They're worth the weight in gold.

Your awesome 👍 you explained it way better then alot .thanks 🙏 now i believe i can fly 😂
Working on the same project but with a 2015 Honda CR-V. The space to put the 23mm wrench to remove the VTC actuator is very limited.
Great Job
Well explained
Thanks for this. It’s great
You need to torque the VTC actuator bolt in the UNLOCKED position. Very important.
@@drewman3762 never seen or felt the difference

Tensioner spec is 106 inch lbs. not 18 inch lbs
Are you sure this is a 2014??? My 2014 Accord has an Earthdreams engine (different animal than the engine you're working on...).
This is a K24. I think CRV went to earthdream on the 5th gen in 2016.
You had to torque it in the unlock then put it to locked after 😂
I was going to say the same thing. Great video! Touched on most everything but that, kinda crucial
