People talking about ego, but this has a lot to do with pay, future pay, and what he worked for all these years. It’s not just “happy to be here” at this level. If this continues his fee will go down. This is fierce competition for the headliner spots and there are only so many
The run down to the crowd during Ferrai is Iconic!! Doesnt matter what time you play, people will SHOW. Cant wait to see you live again, best night of my life
I loved the Veld set!!! It was my first time seeing you, I did see you at Sirkus stage at Veld before but I only saw your set for a little bit and I didn't know who you were back there ( I'm sorry :( ) But the MAINSTAGE WAS LITTTTTTT!!! You threw it the fuck down. I also appreciate coming down to the crowd to high five people, Who does this?
That was on his Thai work permit and those shops that offer the same services (they take photos for passport and visas) are common in Southeast Asian countries.
@@lisgarbb1029 Fully agree. Saw Eric Prydz at Hi Ibiza last Monday, insane. (and what a killer soundsystem) And besides him (Prydz) being an unquestioned headliner, his show really benefits from the lighting support, therefor a late set time. And... sometimes a timetable curator has a vision of how the day looks musically, which can put an artist at a spot that makes sense that way.
I don't see it as ego to simply mention a fact. There's no complaints about not headlining in the video. And I guess James is James Humble then since when he did his London show, R3WIRE 'headlined' since he played after J.H.
Something's off about this video; No Wallace debrief, saying it was too hot in Houston, no ratings on the festival in Toronto whatsoever (gonna make the guy from before the set really sad), no Hypefam ratings during the Toronto set. What're you up to Wallace 🤔
Literally if I was at the Toronto fest I’d get there for James hype and then spend the rest of the day at the bass stage so it’s the perfect time slot 😂🔥🔥🔥🔥
I had no plan to come that early to veld, but when it’s James hype set you have to show up. It means alot to come to toronto and play their thankyou James hype. Thanks for your music and energy. James hype bitchhhh…🔥🔥
Go play a festival that starts from soft to hard beginning to end & you’re probably on first or second everytime! Doesn’t matter what time your on the line up that’s the main thing

So, the great DJ would go to the stage, do the show, take the money, and leave floor in despair cause no other DJ that day would be able to beat your heights. And make festival manager cry and rethink about his line up decisions. That is what the great DJ would do. If you are not able to do that, maybe you are not that great as you think you are. And the festival manager might be right. Going public, asking your fans to put the pressure on it, is counterproductive for your future. So, kids, don’t do this mistake at home.
Been following Gryffin for years and years now, I hate to say it, but he "used to be better" (I like his old songs waay, way more), but he's been killing it with Festivals for a couple years now. Oh my god, finally a void system in that beach club in Houston :o good stuff
It’s hardly ‘opening’ in the traditional sense, crafting the sound and setting up the vibe. It’s half a dozen ‘headliners’ blasting out their greatest hits for 60 minutes…
James, you've gathered quite a following over the years by workin hard and being you. (I like your style) But for real, second guessing you're not at Eric Prydz's spot? Every Dj deserves the spot where they fit best in the line-up, could be musically, could be schedule wise. And when you played, the field was filled, so you did exactly what you needed to do, draw crowds even in the middle of a line-up/day. That's value for an event, therefore you are booked and on top of your game.
he said nothing about being ungrateful. and hate him or not a dj his status usually is a late slot. james hype is an og house artist and will always be a legend
Hey James, your a legend but I have to say that Eric 100% deserves to headline over anyone else for countless reasons, But yeah you do deserve the spot over Gryfin for Veld😂 when you played here at Ile Soniq in Montreal 2 years ago, funny enough that Eric was also headlining that day and that you play at 4:30 in the afternoon
Gryffin released a new album that same day and he had an incredible set. He's also much more popular in Toronto and has a huge following in the Asian community, who make up a lot of the festival goers
Dude, you've just came to the scene in a little while, the other guys who played after you didn't have the chance to play so many festivals in their debuts. I imagine Avicii being still alive and you wanna play after him ! Musically speaking, you didn't bring anything new to the table. What's your sound? I saw you at Badlands in Calgary this year and your set was normal. Laidback Luke and Chuckie are well know with those live effects!
Best to focus on positivity dude. Hardwell / Prydz etc are genuinely some of the best festival guys in the world, even if it’s not your vibe. Maybe keep some things between you and the promoter - dont become one of those guys…..
i think VELD just big-brained us to get everyone at the festival early
The fact that this man sprinted a half-mile to high-five all his fans is what makes him a legend! And props to the camera-man that kept up 😉

absolutely love how you run down to the crowd as both a fellow DJ and a big fan! WHO DOES THIS!?
The run down to the crowd during Ferrai is Iconic!! Doesnt matter what time you play, people will SHOW. Cant wait to see you live again, best night of my life
First time I’ve ever seen you live at veld this year and WOW, been hooked on you ever since 🙌🙌 Love the energy you bring!!
James you're such a good guy, and SO good to your fans.
-FOOTWURK.
You are always travelling, but you are always fit. Could you show us your routine, if you have one?
From Liverpool, to being fuming about not headlining a festival. Life comes at you fast James, keep smashing them tiles up though lad ❤
The Thumbnail with Hardwell 😂
This is why you're the man, bro. The way you run down and interact with the fans is top tier. Keep being you bro!
Was super dope being able to meet you man, you killed it!!
the vibes in ayu day club is so cool!😍🔥
My boy definitely deserved a later time slot but then again maybe they wanted to draw people in earlier and have a banger of a set played 👏
That makes a lot of sense. The longer people stay at the festival the more they spend on food and drinks there
I loved the Veld set!!! nice to see Rashun with a drink in his hand and vibing for once
The passport face from the Thailand episode got me 😂
That was on his Thai work permit and those shops that offer the same services (they take photos for passport and visas) are common in Southeast Asian countries.
Im very sure, Eric for example needs a late spot, bc if he‘s doin a holo show it definitely needs to be dark… mabye thats also a factor?
Prydz is a headliner. Full stop.
Prydz > JH

Bro Killed at Veld in Toronto, i kept telling my friends that James needs to be higher up the lineup. The new visuals were insane.
Not seen a better live DJ [albeit watching YT] this summer. Epic james hype 😊
Hahaha you need to see more music
I don't see it as ego to simply mention a fact.

Someone who actually watched 😆👏🏻
Bang on dude
💯 people gonna hate regardless
Bro, Fish actually mixes 😂 from one track to another.
James Hype you’re a legend no matter where on the lineup you are placed.
With that said, I would love to reach your position!
Something's off about this video; No Wallace debrief, saying it was too hot in Houston, no ratings on the festival in Toronto whatsoever (gonna make the guy from before the set really sad), no Hypefam ratings during the Toronto set. What're you up to Wallace 🤔

I saw when you were coming to Houston at cle. Wish I would have went now
The part you had to run the whole 300 meters to say hi to your fans was really funny, very nice touch James
Stereohype team and James are amazing

Smart promoter wanted to sell more drinks in the heat along with a banging set from James.😅
Legendary Bizzzzz! yes James!
11:41 sickkk
Stay humble James.
you are such an inspiration
Keep spinning and getting gigs.
he said nothing about being ungrateful. and hate him or not a dj his status usually is a late slot. james hype is an og house artist and will always be a legend
Your definition of OG is wrong mate
Bro did really don't know gryffin
fucking hilarious banging on about being the headliner all video.
This is an interesting episode.

#WHODOESTHIS? 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This dude plays the same songs in every set. He’s played the same set since he did Hyde in Miami for ultra music festival weekend.
Most artist pick a set that they rock for a while
tank top, was top notch
Goat🎉🎉
Ah yes I have to remind myself that I’m too good to be in the middle of the line up. Mate is so egotistical.
7 Secondssss 🔥
you rock❤❤😂 ❤
You’re not bigger than fisher and Prydz tho are you?
Did you even watch the video? He's not complaining
He’s not bigger than them, but he mixes better than them.
Have you seen his arms?
Yes, Eric Prydz is a veteran of the industry. He is behind the hit tracks "Opus", "Call on Me" and "Pjanoo".
I need to get to VEGAS 🎉🎉
song at 1:40 ?
😅the blackjack game😂
The Promoter wanted a strong early crowd.
The promoter in this case is NOT stupid. Good in business administration. 🙂
What protein bars do you like on the road James?
Name of the ID of the last song??
Fucking legend ! 🫶🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥☄️
Any chance your position is due to a deck switchover?
Where is the tomorrowland episode?
Make these vlogs longer again
Should be saving best for last eh you should def. be headlining.
Toronto knows.
Whats the name of these sunglasses?
