Sometimes when I sharpen my tungsten on a bench grinder, the tip gets red hot, could this also oxidize the tungsten?
absolutely, after you get it red hot, do a light grind with not alot of pressure, thatll clean it up before you weld
I've had it turn blue and also gold after welding what's up with that?
its the same deal, ideally you want it to return to silver. if you get gold.. thats fiineee, blue ehh its fiine. turn up the post flow and it will fix that.
Good reminder to not be cheap on the post flow.

Wondering if Austin's green beanie is in case he suddenly gets the urge to do an overhead flux-core weld, or if he wears that to attract a mate? And if the latter, does it show signs of working?
It’s my lucky cap 😅 my daughter was born on saint paddy’s day, my cap lady made us matching caps. It honestly hasn’t seen much action 😅. If any welder thinks the welder cap will pull females.. they’ll be fairly disappointed 😂
