How to simplify vacuum hoses on a scooter

- Опубликовано: 18 окт 2024
- This video will show you which vacuum hoses you actually NEED on your GY6 scooter and how to hook them up. This information applies to most 50, 125, 150 and 250 cc scooters.
If your scooter has a vacuum operated fuel pump, you need more hose and connections , your description is correct if you have a scooter without a fuel pump, using only gravity feed to the carburetor
That's correct. Scooters with the gas tank in the floorboard will have a fuel pump, and scooters with the gas tank mounted higher than the carburetor don't need a fuel pump.
I just got a BMS Prestige 150 which is CARB compliant. First thing I did was remove all the PAIR/EVAP crap, the stock air box and installed a NIbbi intake tube with a UNI foam filter. I ended up with a shit load of hoses vales and canisters which I tossed in a box. Valve cover vent hose I just stuck into the air filter until I install the oil catch can inline. As far as the gas tank vent hose, I just cut it short and stuck a small filter on the end. I dont think I would route the tank vent hose back into the intake unless it had a vented gas cap. The tank has to be allowed to breath as the fuel level changes. Routing the vent hose back into the intake would pull a vacuum on the tank which could cause fuel flow issues. I bought a nice fuel cutoff switch to replace the petcock but I decided to leave the petcock in place for now. I just dont trust the valves in the carb alone to hold back the fuel when the engine is off.
hi and question on taking the pair out. the question is can I reroute the crankcase vent hose to the intake hose at my intake manifold rather than taking it to the front side of the carburetor?
So i got a POS chinese scooter for free and shes running great, thanks to your full rundown of the "fix everything" video of chinese scooters. I did notice from this video that my crankcase ventilation has a tiny hole at the top but nothing is connected to it. No hoses or anything. The scooter runs great tho. Should i leave it how it is or do you think its necessary to get a hose leading to the airbox or air pod
Thank you for you videos ,,,I have 150cc chinese scooter, running great, new carb, I decided to do an upgrade and add a uni intake, I used a custom raidiator hose to fit under the frame, and remove some emisions, and stock airbox, I changed main jet from 103 to 108 and no matter where I move the idle or mixture screw, it starts, then just dies and after 30 secs no warning, it gets very boggy on throttle and when I took it down the street it was not as fast and was a bit "chuggy" and "bucky" this happened with 100, 105 and 125 main jet, the vaccum hose from the manifold is connected the same and the PCV and the other emisions vent that were going into the old air box are just vented into the air and zip tied to the frame, do have any idea what happened? The scooter was running great before I did a few things, could it be the needle? what do you think?
This is great but not enough detail in it. Make it longer with more explanation. Love your vids...best out there.
Thanx will do
I enjoy your videos as I bought a cheap scooter lol. It is my only form of transportation. I am trying to do things on my own to repair and to try and improve my scooter. I like this hose clean-up but it was a bit fast and not too much detail or rather tutorial. I would like to minimize it, but too scared I will mess things up.
Thanks for watching! I have many newer videos that go into more detail about the hoses. Check out the Chinese scooter playlist: ruclips.net/p/PL1_JDBt1LSiJQETjZiOFXBKtv-ZzfqEx0
Great video, I appreciate your help. I had some success, but my scooter runs only 10 MPH. I think mine looks slightly different.
Do a valve adjustment
I'm definitely going to try this. This videos great there's not many out there if any. My carb has always had an open port on it that I just didn't think was anything, i thought it was for the overflow. The only line that I have going to my carb is the fuel line, no vacuum lines. i'm going to switch it over today and see what happens. Thanks a lot
but yeah my scooter doesn't have that pcv. It does have that big black cylinder you can see in my video maybe that's the same thing.
POLO tv
The black cylinder is a charcoal canister I think. You can get a small PCV valve at the auto parts store for less than $5.
Hey Paul, thanks for the vidz. But, I'm still having problems. I've got my lines exactly the way you do except mine still won't start without being bottle fed fuel. Then once that runs out it dies. Or sometimes it'll stay idling fir a few seconds lo ger giving me enough time to pull the throttle but as soon as I start to turn the throttle it immediately dies out. I'm racking my brain trying to figure this out. I did not hook up my enricher either. Surely that's not the problem I would t think. Plus it looks like the oil from the valve cover is feeding down through the gas line filter. It went from yellowish to gold almost brown. I'm super lost on this right now. 50cc gy6, new carb, new cylinder, head and piston. Rings are clocked to spec. Valve lash is set. New cdi, stator, flywheel, coil, plug and wire, fresh non ethanol premium and still same thing. Starts if I hold my hand over the backside of the carb but soo dies as well. I'm frustrated to say the least
You might be running too lean. Check to see if there is an air leak between the carburetor and engine. Make sure your intake manifold has the spacer that goes between the manifold and head. If you're running the stock carburetor, the idle enricher should be connected.
It's possible your new carburetor has the wrong size jets for your engine too.

Besides the vacuum hoses that you explained, there are two
other thicker black hoses on my Evo 150cc Taotao scooter. They start off at the
right-hand side of the scooter. One of those hoses goes to the front of the
scooter's where it is connected to the engine. The other thicker black hose is
connected to what looks like a black canister at the right-hand side of the
scooter's frame. It is located on the frame between the fuel tank and the
ignition high-performance coil box. However, at its end, this thicker black
hose (about double the size of the other vacuum lines) is not connected to
anything on my scooter and is just hanging by itself. I am suspecting that it
is the reason why the scooter is not starting. Also, on the left-hand side of
the scooter's frame, there is what looks like another black canister which has
two hose connections, one small another one bigger, but then there are no hoses
connected to it. I suspect that the lose thicker black hose that is dangling in
the middle of the scooter fell off from that. May that be the case? However, I
don't want to connect that hose to the black canister on the left side of the
scooter because I am not sure that it is supposed to be connected there. So
far, I have searched in vain and have not found a RUclips video with an
explanation of the purpose for those thicker black hoses on the scooter. Are
they part of the scooter 's vacuum system? Please advise. I look forward to
hearing from you. Your explanation will be highly appreciated.
The big fat hoses and canister are your evaporative emissions system. Theoretically, the evap system takes fuel vapors from your carburetor and gas tank and stores them so they don't evaporate into the air.
What really happens is all that stuff is very low quality and doesn't work, so you're getting fuel vapors out into the air anyway, probably flooding the engine, and you might have some vacuum leaks too. Just rip all that stuff out, and keep only the minimum number of hoses mentioned in this video.
@@LabCoatPaul Thank you very much for your detailed response and explanation with regard to the vacuum lines on the Chinese scooters. Yes, I agree, and I wanted to remove the many vacuum lines on my Taotao scooter. However, I thought that if I remove them the scooter will experience some problems with idling or starting.
@@LabCoatPaul Yes, I agree with you that these Chinese scooters, like my Taotao scooter, have many unnecessary vacuum lines that are sources of leaks. You say “Just rip all that stuff out (vacuum lines), and keep only the minimum number of hoses mentioned in this video.” So, how about if I remove all the unnecessary vacuum hoses, including the thick one that goes from the front of the engine to the back of the scooter and top of the fuel tank? Also, do you recommend removal of the petcock and the vacuum hoses that are connected to it and connect the fuel line coming to the tank directly to the carburetor using a manual switch? Will the scooter start and run properly without the petcock?
@@FKtdyvan Yes, the scooter will work without a petcock. The fuel petcock is an important safety feature (If it works), and shuts off gas to the carburetor when the engine is off. If you drop your scooter and it doesn't have a petcock, it will spill the entire contents of the gas tank through the carburetor, on to the ground. If the petcock is working and doesn't leak, you can leave it. It's the evap and egr systems you don't want.
@@LabCoatPaul Thank you for informative and useful advise. It is nice for us to benefit from your knowledge on these issues regarding these Chinese scooters.
Wowzah. Really boiled it down. Thanks
Paul, I think you helped me out with a small problem I'm having. I transferred to a UNI air filter from an under the seat filter on my Tao Tao Lancer 150. The old filter had an extra line coming from the plastic ext. hose that connected the air filter and the carb. I removed that line and put a cap on it and that was a " no no" it started leaking a little gas on my CVT cover. I now see that it must be run back into the UNI filter, is this correct? Currently it runs from my engine head to a "T" connector and all the we way back to the end of my CVT cover. I vented the line today and can actually see the vapors, which I assume should be going back into my UNI. No wonder I had big problems with cold starts, been using a lot of starter fluid.
The valve cover should be vented to the air filter. This will suck up crankcase vapors. The gearbox hose (the one at the back of the CVT cover) does not need to go anywhere in particular. This just protects the final drive gear seals from leaking when the temperature changes, because it equalizes pressure.
Thank you bro, is it normal to see the vapors coming from the air filter or should the hose be turned into the direction so it flows right into my extension pipe? Thanks again for answering.
The vacuum line that comes out of the intake manifold into the side of the carburetor. 1:48 What is that port called, or what is it for? My moped doesn't have a port on that side of the carburetor next to the throttle cable. It does, however, have a port on the other side, but it already had a short cut-off hose running out of it with a 90 degree open ended downturn. I have no idea what that is either. Any help is appreciated
I never found out the actual name of the diaphragm on the side of the carburetor but I think it helps with the idle circuit. Check out this video for more information on the hoses: ruclips.net/video/0NwRbp6-vtY/видео.html
Check out this video for a closer look inside the carburetor: ruclips.net/video/0m13eJrfwOw/видео.html
@@LabCoatPaul thanks, your videos are a lot of help. Currently I have my scooter idling. But as soon as I give it any amount of throttle it dies. If I set the idle screw too high it dies. I've tried adjusting the idle mixture screw, it can run with it completely removed but it dies when it's screwed in. I've also tried adjusting the "C" clip on the needle & I can't tell what is better or worse because like I said as soon as I give it any amount of throttle it dies. So I'm just kind of stuck right now
Cool. Does it help with power or gas mileage ?
I have a 50cc jonway 139qmb I just upgraded too 100cc with a big bore kit hooked all my lines up same as you and I'm getting surging from the carb. Did I do something wrong?
Surging might be from it running too rich. Have you tuned the carburetor? Check out this video: ruclips.net/video/iCGjVRyN6YU/видео.html
I just got a 2008 sl50qt-7 is there any way to delete or find a diagram of how the fuel and vacuum lines goes to the charcoal canister
hi I have a problem with my 125 scooter I don't know where to put the top hose from the egr valve cover where does it go some say the airbox but there's already 1 hose connected and another clear tube with a plug on end can you help
Looks like my carb, underneath the bowl is another place for a hose, do you block that off?
Hi Paul...you seem to understand these scooters. I was wondering if you could give us some advice. I have a peace sport 50cc that isn't getting gas right now. It started out with different issues and we are troubleshooting and replacing parts, and now the gas isn't moving. We have replaced the carburetor, fuel lines, fuel filter, cleaned air filter, changed oil, changed gear oil, replaced cdi, and we bought a replacement fuel valve switch, but the nut was put on upside-down to what we need and the threads don't match up. The threads we need to hook up to the gas tank is on the opposite side and they flared that so the nut won't come off. What we have noticed is there is no gas moving from the gas tank to the fuel filter. (that's why we ordered the fuel valve switch thinking it wasn't working right) I'm wondering if it's a vacuum problem? Can you give us any advice or suggestions?
+Julie Crispin The fuel valve that bolts on the fuel tank has a vacuum line. It's a safety feature. When the engine is running, vacuum opens the valve, and fuel can go to the carburetor. Often times this part can be bad (even if it's new), and will leak fuel or air and not let fuel through. You can simply drill through it and cap the vacuum port. Then you'll have all the fuel you need.
Shoulda installed an oil catch can inline with the crankcase vent line to catch the crankcase vomit. Feeding it directly back into the intake is gonna dirty the air filter and eventually gum up the inside of the carburetor.
You read my mind
I thought intake was having orgasm
what if i dont have a port on the carburetor for the vacuum line can i run it into the over flow does jt need a open air source i already removed the egr
I have a newer video about the hoses here: ruclips.net/video/li95pzfhAnM/видео.html
How did you connect hose from the crankcase to the air filted
Hi Paul hope you don't mind me messaging you but I have a 125cc pulse lightspeed 2 scooter and I'm having a problem with no fule getting to the carb, unlike in this vid where you only have 1 pipe coming from the bottom of your tank there are 2 coming from my tank, the top one gos into the t shape where it his down into the intake and across the top of the carb. the other fule pipe from the tank on the bottom gos into the bottom of the carb which I'm sure you said in your vid was the main petrol line ? if you can give me abit of advice I'd be so greatful as unless I pure petrol into the carb it will not start. many thanks
My carburetor doesn't have anything to set that vacuum line into it on the right side like yours is
Did you have to add the fuel inlet valve to the carburetor?
Thanks
+Julian Wasserzug no its a bowl float valve
I took of my petcock do I have to put filter on end and take off air box and cap the front where the hose go from there to petcock
The fuel petcock has a vacuum hose going to it that opens the valve when the engine is running. It's a safety feature. If you drop your scooter and the engine is off, the fuel will stop coming out of the gas tank (unless your gas cap leaks). You'll need to cap off that vacuum port at the intake manifold.
Without a petcock, if your fuel inlet valve in the carburetor gets stuck open, you'll get a puddle of gas under the scooter and it will be hard to start, but once you get going it will run ok.
I don't recommend removing the fuel petcock, but as long as the fuel inlet valve works fine, you should be OK.
@@LabCoatPaul ok yea I put new carb and pet cock and gona put new tank on it to but idk what size of hose to use for fuel line and the air ones
I have a line that runs from my intake to my petcock ? is that normal? no spot for it on the carburetor. and my valve cover vent I just ran a line to a filter... should I make it go to my air filter ?

"install the bolt from the back side to block the EGR passage" ?
firstly, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! this is -the only- definitive video on the internet that outlines how to simplify all those crappy unneeded vac lines!
question: when you said you installed a bolt to block the egr passage, what size bolt did you use? how did you install it? could you please be more specific? i have found an EGR block plate i can order, but i would rather just block it myself than order an extra part.
thank you so much!!! also, what happens if we do not block that port?
+unstrung13 I'm glad the video was helpful! I think I used a 1/4 inch bolt and a nut to block the passage. If you're using a nut like I did, the exact size doesn't really matter as long as it fits. If you don't block the EGR port, you'll get exhaust gas coming out of that hole and your scooter will be really loud and sound like it has a broken muffler.
Hey man thanks for the video so I have a 150 cc and I'm putting on a new nubby car it has one vacumn port on it and of course it was supposed to go to my petcock but I want tl get rid of my petcock and this canister 9f vacumn lines so I have the hose that comes out of the top of my head goes to the back of my cvt case and so I do t kniw if it's ok to run a hose to my intake manifold port to my little canister as you have then to my fuel tank and then the other part of the t to my carb and then just leave the head one gojng to the cvt what do you think thanks
Question I have a cy50a it idles fines but once I start accelerating the revs jump so high and I mean high 8000 plus the scooter sound so dam loud any idea wat it could be.......also I replaced the exhaust but still revving up like crazy and loud
unless you're going over 40mph, your rpm should not be at 8,000. Check your drive belt, variator, and clutch.
@@LabCoatPaul ok thanx
So your bike is getting hot gas in,that does not sound right.
Video Needs to be more indepth. I've had 3 Scooters over the years. Started with a 50cc. Moved up to a 150cc. Now I've had a 250cc for almost 10 years. I've done almost ALL of the work on my scooters for years, and while I'll admit I'm still NO machanic, I couldn't follow what you were trying to get across.
So you just removed your fuel pump and it's now just gravity feed?
Ron King Scooters with carburetors don't have a fuel pump. The part that has a vacuum hose is a fuel safety shutoff valve. Engine vacuum opens a diaphragm that allows fuel to go to the carburetor. It doesn't pump the fuel. It just shuts off the fuel when the engine is off. It prevents spilling gas if you crash your scooter.
That's not entirely true. If the fuel tank is below the engine, there's a vacuum powered fuel pump. In that case, use the other port in your intake for the fuel pump, or use a T fitting if you only have one port in your intake.
I've had both kinds. ;)
Hi Paul: My 150cc MC-75 scooter exhaust pipe crack. I am having extreme difficulties find an exhaust pipe to match the original. The original exhaust pipe has an inch nibble pipe that attaches to an valve. Cannot find one!!! Any recommendations or modifications other than a original pipe.
Jesus tommy i hope you speak better than you type. seriously ? An valve tommy.....an valve? Does that even sound right to you? My scooter exhaust crack? Really? Other than a original pipe? Sad tommy. Phonics is fun. Oh and it makes you not sound stupid.
tommy korakis honestly I went to Cap,you can go to O Reillys or Autozone and pick up a Briggs and Stratton exhaust for like $7 and weld it on to yout header pipe just cit the pipe alittle with a saw really easy and have someone weld the exhaust into the header and your golden you won't even need to use clamps since the exhaust is soo small and light it won't break or come off ive been running mine for the past 2 yrs no problems and it sounds awesome vroom vroooom!!!!!
What's the big vacuum hose on the right side coming out of the valve cover?
That's your PCV breather. It can just go to the air box. I have a newer video that shows the hoses better: ruclips.net/video/li95pzfhAnM/видео.html
ok, my hose set up is confusing and im trying to simplify it to get my scooter started... I have 2 lines coming from the top of the fuel tank, one on the left and one closer to the center. The hose on the left just goes straight to the petcock on the port that points away (the one that's most by itself looking) The hose coming from the center goes to a T connector which branches off to both the petcock (the port that points forward, not the bottom port) and the bottom of the carb. Lastly we have the lower port on the petcock, which goes to a T connector for the intake manifold and the top of the carb. Now let me get this layman... I'm supposed to take the center tank line, to a filter, straight to the bottom of the carb. Then on the carb I connect the upper port to the port on the intake manifold. Then for the left tank line I... I think that's it for fuel lines lol. The EGR stuff I get, just gotta find my one way PCV it's prolly in the air box I took it off and went with a cone filter... There's a third port at the top of the tank, by the gas cap, that looks like it's prolly the evap, but it's capped off...
should the vaccum hose leak gas when i remove it? i believe my hoses are clogged it's been sitting for about 2 months without start now I am having trouble getting it started or when i do get it started it wont accelerate. do you think it's cloggeed
That depends on which vacuum hose you're talking about. If you're talking about the one that runs along side the fuel inlet hose, that goes to the bottom of the fuel petcock (on or near gas tank), then it could be the cause of your problems. The fuel petcock is a vacuum operated valve that allows fuel to flow from the gas tank to the carburetor only when the engine is turning. The rubber diaphragm inside can go bad, and you'll get gas in the vacuum system, and not enough gas in the fuel inlet of the carburetor. This can cause hard starting, bad acceleration, or just make the scooter not run.
Do you have a link or blueprint of how the fuel line goes on? Also is the scooter in the video a 50 or 49cc?
The scoot in the picture is a 150cc. The fuel line is simple. Gas tank has a vacuum operated valve on it. Line goes to fuel filter, then to carburetor. If your gas tank is in the floor, your tank hose goes to a round pump thing mounted on the frame (that has a vacuum hose), then to a filter, then to carburetor.
Thanks for the content
Could you re-do this video to be longer with more explanations? Some things are confusing. First, why do you need to feed crankcase fumes back to intake? Why do you need one way valve there at all? Secondly, you show that all you need for a vacuum is one hose to jump 2 locations. What about the peacock valve, doesn't it need vacuum, did you make the fuel feed by gravity only? So many questions. I am still hazy, why did you need to bridge those 2 vacuum points on the carb... Also, about feeding crankcase fumes back to intake, you are feeding fumes that no longer have oxygen because it was burned off, this defeats the use for intake that adds oxygen to fuel mixture. If you add gas that no longer has 20% oxygen, you are fiddling with the proper oxygen to fuel mixture.

HELP!!!! PLEASE!!! I just bought a scooter.. 2007 VENTO TRITON..I replaced battery.. it's cranking but it won't start.. I seen a hose sticking straight down by the kick start... it only leaks gas when I kick start it but no leak when I try to start it with the start button. I looked under the scooter and I a evap canister.. does that hose go to the evap canister?? if so which tube does it connect to? one is bigger than the other.. or does the hose even go to that canister?? idk please help
You should take the carburetor out, and put a rubber cap over the lowest port on the carburetor instead of the hose. It's the carburetor float bowl drain. It sounds like the hose on yours is leaking. You can also check out my carburetor tuning video for a closer look at the carburetor here: ruclips.net/video/6EYTQsi1YJc/видео.html
I have a scooter that has a crack in a pipe thats affecting the vacuum system, if i superglue the crack will that work?
gina hardison Just get some new hose from the auto parts store. It will cost the same amount as the glue, but it will actually work. :)
Thanks
my carberator is leaking fuel at the fuel inlet port on the carberator please help it runs but leaks
Check your hoses for cracks and replace the hoses if needed. If the hoses don't leak, but fuel leaks out of the carburetor, you may have a stuck inlet valve. Remove the carburetor from the scooter and remove the float bowl. You can then check the operation of the inlet valve.
what about a fuel pump and two plugs in the manifold? mine has the second going into a fuel pump, is this for vacuum?
If your gas tank is lower than the carburetor, your scooter will have a fuel pump. Yes, it must have a vacuum hose going to the intake manifold.
Paul Shpakov thanks, also my gas tank has 3 outlets, one goes to a reservoir, one goes to the pump and the third goes to egr can. after i remove the egr can can i block off the third outlet?
Yes. You can also vent fuel tank fumes to the air filter side of the carburetor.
Great video! So you removed the fuel petcock? Does this cause any flooding while the scooter is off?
+Julian Wasserzug Best to install a manual on off shut off valve for when the bike is resting overnight lets say.
+Julian Wasserzug The carburetor already has an inlet valve. If the carburetor works right, you won't get any flooding.
+Paul Shpakov so why do the have the vacuum fuel pump?
+Tee Mann so if i bypass the vacuum pump, and jump from the fuel filter to the bowl, then jump a vacuum line from intake to choke port on the carb like you did,, it should work? i just took the carb apart and cleaned it, the jet with the holes in it was clogged. i bought a 08 gator 150, that has been sitting for a few year with a broke throttle cable, lol just did more reading i see its a vacuum petcock, going to put a manual petcock on. then jumping the vacuum, to the choke.
@@LabCoatPaul To clarify, one could remove the petcock entirely and the flow of gas to the carb will stop when the moped is turned off?
Great job!!
The egr valve picture is undefined, like where is that Dx
I’m having an issue set my celebration decreased and my top end remain the same and when I go out and come to a stop at a stop sign or light the bike turns off what I’ve been doing is that I Revit when I come to a stop in order for her not to keep dyeing and then it idols normal
Did you figure it out mines doing the same thing
what if your gas tank doesn't have that air port stem
IF the gas tank doesn't have a vent, that's ok. It might have a vented gas cap.
Totally cool
Yeah, so what size hoselines?
Most Chinese scooters use 1/4" and 3/16" hoses. Check out this newer video about hoses: ruclips.net/video/li95pzfhAnM/видео.html
Hey Paul I’m having a problem with keeping my scooter running and it looses power the ideal runs fast and then slows down and runs fast again it stalls as soon as I start it
Noticed a gas leak on the underside of my 50 cc
I live in Georgia, home of hills .. hills everywhere , I still using a vacuum petcock because I read if I put on a manual I would have more problems climbing hills
It's better to just let the cran case vent or filter the oil and send the clean air back out
what did you do with the 2 stock vacuum lines into stock air cleaner?
Thomas Flynn Waiting for a answer!
+Thomas Flynn The 2 lines are hooked into a T and go to the foam filter. It's the crankcase ventilation and fuel tank vent.
can you show me? Thanks
asap
you misunderstood me! I put a cone air filter on and got rid of the stock one! What do you do with the 2 lines that went into it?
+Thomas Flynn You would run those lines into the cone filter.
HELLO Paul, can you make your own air foam filter if yes could you make a know how video
THANK you
I’m concerned that if I remove the vacuum driven fuel valve that the carb will flood when the moped is turned off anyone know if this is the case? Let me know
As long as your carb is clean and your needle seats correctly you should have no leakage if anything you can run an inline fuel shutoff also as a backup

anyone know where i can find the one way valve for the crankcase???

what about the fuel pump or the petcock?
Scooters that have a gas tank lower than the carburetor will have a fuel pump. Scooters with the gas tank higher than the carburetor don't need a fuel pump. If you have a fuel pump, you will still need a vacuum hose running from the intake manifold to the fuel pump.

I have one line I can not seem to find where it goes. It comes off the plastic box right under my fuel filter area. I have picture attached. It must go somewhere because the other end has a clamp on it.

That looks like a drain for the plastic box just in case your fuel filter leaks. Definitely not an important hose. It's probably just supposed to hang down randomly. You can leave it, or remove it. Doesn't matter.
This doesn't look anything like my chinese Boom Revolution scooter.
If only the Japanese ones weren't so expensive

You do not tell us what carb that is not very helpful
Most Chinese 150cc GY6 scooters have a copy of the Keihin CVK 24mm carburetor.

Thanks for the advice. You can adjust video playback speed by clicking the gear in the lower right corner of the video. I have a newer video about scooter hoses here: ruclips.net/video/li95pzfhAnM/видео.html
I just bought a 2005? Qinqi 50cc 2 stroke scooter with the D1E41QMB engine and the previous owner changed the carb to a PZ15 and said he couldn't get it to run without manually adding fuel so sold it to me as a lost cause. Only problem I am seeing is my vacuum petcock is not connected to a vacuum source to let fuel flow. Where would I attach the hose on my motor or carb to make it operate correctly as there is no service manual I can find for my bike online. Is this carb correct for a 2 stroke?
Probably either to an inlet port on the intake right before the carb, or if your carb has an extra port with nothing connected near the fuel inlet port then possibly that. . No clue if the carb is correct for the scooter. You can get away using a ton of different carbs if you can figure out vacuume
I have a petcock configuration and the vacuum hose coming out of the manifold is connected to it which is normal but my carburator also has a nipple for some hose that is missing and i think i'm having a vacuum leak because of it, any help ?
If you have a cvk carb you should have only two main hoses running to it: 1. Fuel supply, goes to the brass fitting 2. Vacuum line for the diaphragm on the side near the throttle cable bracket....There may also be a fuel drain hose attached to the very bottom of the float bowl and a rubber fuel over flow elbow which would be connected on the side near the auto-choke.
@@RellyOhBoy thank you bro! i got it sorted out but my scooter still chokes/boggs when my throtle reachs 75% for some reason, im thinking of replacing the whole carb
@@sufy.r they're super cheap on Amazon. Like 20 bucks for a PD24J carb. I keep a few on deck. When my scoot starts to idle funny and hesitate on low throttle I know the pilot jet is probably clogged so I swap in a new carb and eventually bust down the dirty ones and clean them up. Pilot jets always get fouled up because of the small hole.
I have a 50cc chinese scooter and i have a hose lose and i don't know where it came off from. A black hose with a metal spiral covering. I think it goes to the carburetor can you help?
Most likely it's the drain hose that connects to the bottom of the float bowl. You don't need that one if the float bowl has a valve that closes on the bottom of the carburetor.

Thank you so much
