@@pppppppal absolutely. No one is just gonna stand there and take a beating, so timing and position control are MORE important than anything else since nothing works without them. Thanks for the input.
Legend has it that wing chun was developed from the crane style, which is known for its evasion. Yet as you pointed out, mobility is not emphasized in many schools. Thanks for revitalizing the spirit of the crane in your wing chun.
It was developed from Ng Mui Snake and Crane. Ng Mui was a Taoist snake master who went to the Buddhist temple at the Shaolin forrest and learned Crane and Tiger. She is credited of inventing Hung Gar (Crane and Tiger) and when she left she blended Snake and Crane. Then later she had 1 year to teach Wing Chun to be able to defend herself so she taught a stripped down version of Snake and Crane to Wing Chun. Wing Chun went on to refine it and teach what she learned to her family.
Couldn’t agree more! It’s not so much what you train, but how you train that’s important. Training has to be “alive” otherwise you’re just reinforcing bad habits. IMO martial arts have never been set in stone, we have to change with the times, wing chun should respect the tradition, but incorporate modern training methods & strategies. Learn from the boxers & kick boxers & move! Get off that line of attack 😉💜
Yes 👍 keep drilling this issue Sifu there is no end to sharpening your footwork skills thers always room for improvement best video topic for the combat arts 😎
@@jarrodpelrine7229 thanks! Totally agree with you that it’s the most important - or best - topic for the combat arts. Being able to shut down a guy’s offense is critical and should never be compromised in search of establishing our offense.
@@miloshehmar5789 Momma said I had pretty eyes LOL. But seriously, we were gonna run another video today but had serious audio issues for some reason. This was the fall back despite the lighting being a little too extreme in the dark room. And, as Paul Harvey would say, that’s the rest of the story. The bad news is that as of this writing, Margot Robbie is still unimpressed with me…despite the blue eyes. 😢
Great! There is a tendency for the opponent to hit in the exact spot the punch comes from, that's why moving after every hit is a must.
