Just did a bit of research on nylon. While certain nylon types have slightly better heat resistance, generally the temperature sensitivity is lower (better) than with other thermoplastics. I found an article that states 220 degrees Fahrenheit is nylon’s limit. But there are many other factors which influence nylon’s ability to resist degradation from high temperature. Exposure is the probably the biggest factor, specifically the length of time it is exposed to heat. Continuous exposure will degrade the structure the quickest, but repeated short term exposure can also weaken the structure over time. Without any guidance from the manufacturer on what their testing has concluded, I’d say this receiver extension should handle light use just fine, but it’s not likely to handle repeated mag dumps very well, IMO. Frankly, I wouldn’t spend the $90 to test it, because the manufacturer should be more forthcoming about the limitations of their product. I’ll choose to wait and snag an aluminum extension from JTac Industries when they restock.
