Get hit by the drone and he will try to grab thinking you will block and then make him unable to breathe as you give him pressure
Idk how drone is at high level but i've gotten games off celestial players just doing drone in neutral and then doing high low behemoth pressure. Goldlewis is the ultimate knowledge check if i've ever seen one.
Drone is real good a high level, just an outright absurd special move.
Drone is, without exaggeration, one of THE reasons to pick up GL in the first place.

@@webbowser8834 like i know that i play them with my main the point is i want to make them feel bad by making them lose to scrubby tactics. If i want high level games where we both know the match up i just play baiken or sol because i have more fun playing those.

IBDF probably kills a lot of the options. FD does nothing, IB actually makes it better for us because we can make it gapless and now we are much closer.

So is the fast rc after a BT keep them locked in guard break long enough for drone to get out before they have a chance to take an action? Or is the tech so fast and unusual that people arent reacting to it? I havent had a chance to lab yet
it looks like if they mash, drone will still hit them, and if they jump/backdash they will either block it or be locked down by other moves
It's long enough to get drone out before they have a chance to take an action, yes, if done correctly.
If you do any BT into FRC, 10frames or less make the entire blockstring a true string, so the opponent cannot mash out ever. Although you can instead grab the opponent instead, and they cannot mash out of it due to guardcrush removing grab invul. Using a BT after 248HS FRC lvl3 drone makes the string a frametrap instead.
I wish I had the execution on pad to do all the bt stuff... I'd play this character all the time.
Mate, trust. Jump into the deep end and play him anyway. Swing through the arcade mode after labbing some combos just to build the muscle memory and a feel for the character, then go bonk some poor souls online once you're ready. You'll love every second of it my good sir

Goldlewis Zato is a fierce dual main combo. That's what Gobou rocks. Either way, I recommend everyone give GL a shot because he's the most fun character in the game.

Make a vid of how you do 486 BT while dashing please, I find it almost impossible to do.
I recommend using a dash macro. Makes running BTs much easier.
They are using an all button controller, definitely faster than swinging a lever around. Considering how far Goldy was from the opponent, I don't think any special techniques were in play, too much time has passed for any buffers to be affective. This coming from a scrub of sorts. But in pretty sure he's just quick on the buttons
@@kickasscowell5654 raw BTs are possible on all popular controller types. Gobou is on stick, i'm on hitbox (and have tried mixbox, and darkrai is on pad. Just gotta practice!
@@baccpackaw for sure, it's just that that's all there is to it. Like there isn't really any super mega secret strat to dashing BT, just gotta be quick with it.

@@baccpack It was only possible S2 due to new drone recovery changes. I knew about drone being a true string after a BT FRC very early on but never really conceptualised how powerful this situation was until I looked at it again later.
