    CF Moto is a partner to KTM and the twin engine here is a little more powerful than the kawa actually.

    If you are not in sales, then it's a pity. Another enjoyable review, and full of info, but with enough periods of quiet for us to enjoy the 'experience'. If established manufacturers fail to raise their game, or lower their prices, then they are surely going to feel the pinch from these upcoming brands. Either way we still benefit. I must just mention the panniers. What a sensible move from CFMOTO, full credit to them. I think I will pay Tin Shack a visit.

    obviously there's no competetor for the 650 GT. the ninja 650 is way more aggressive an the next sport touring bike that features such a comfort is the kawa s1000sx, coming up with a price way higher (but it's unfair to compare a 650 to a 1000 bike).
    comfortable sports tourer seems to be for old rich men that can effort spending tentousends of dollars in a absolutely nonsense powerfull bike like the R and K line of BMW or the fancy line of Honda.
    the 650GT seems to fill a gap between old and rich men and the average drivers that just try to have fun without destroing their backs. a great bike and i cant wait to get mine. thanks for this awesome review!

    Another good review Mark, and it's good see your reviewing these bikes. Unfortunately im old enough to remember the 1970s when our parents had Ford Cortinas... You won't be disappointed. I bought one 12 months ago but have not been able to do much touring so far - medical issues and Covid lockdown. Zero issues in 15000km, except for locking mechanism on Shad panniers. Shad replaced the locks with a new, simpler, stronger design. Overall, most comfortable bike I've owned and that's quite a few in the past 50+ years. I don't care about depreciation. I've learned over the years that you don't get much for a bike with over 100k kms on it which is when I tend to sell them. Its also why I refuse to pay big money for a bike. And I have no doubts that this bike will do the 100k km without a problem.

    Hi Mark, another very nice review. I used to have a WK Bikes 650TR which was a U.K. rebranded CF Moto. Very similar bike but seems that have improved it even further with this most current offer. One question, CF Moto 650 GT or Benelli TRK 502, And what influenced your choice? Many thanks 👍

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  3 года назад +5

      Hi Tony this exact question has been asked a few times lately ...for reliability I'd go cfmoto ...the Benelli is reliable but a close second .
      Engine wise I actually preferred the Benelli its very smooth like a triple ,the cf650 is basically an er6 engine so more like a conventional twin ...I also found the benelli to be slightly more comfortable for me so for me personally the Benelli just wins

    Well I think its a proper bit of kit for this money ok its not going to blow you away with its power, but your not lacking any get up and go you just need to twist the grip a little more, it handles really well and the brakes are really good straight out the box , good wind protection an all round good bike I think, If I ride it again tomorrow and I think the same I'm having one, be daft not to with the now 4 year warranty there offering.

    So, is the engine built by Kawasaki, or does CFMoto build it under license? I saw a 650 ADVentura and a 1st gen Versys at the dealer last week, and the CFMoto's engine is a DEAD RINGER for the Kawi engine! All that's different is the graphics on the engine covers; the shape and bolt patterns are the same though. The bore & stroke are identical too.

    I looked at both the other day and must say, seem like nice guys running the show, if a little unusual in their setup.
    The thing that struck me about the GT though was why the extra cost over the MT? Okay, so it may be for the TFT but you lose the adjustable suspension on the GT that is standard on the MT. Personally I'd want the adjustable suspension on the GT as on the MT instead of the TFT... And at the same price as the MT.

    After 5,500km on a 2021 CFMoto 650GT, this is what's up...
    1) cylinder head assembly needed replacing
    2) sprockets and chain needed replacing
    3) clutch needs replacing
    4) vibration from windshield (known fault, no one wants to fix it).
    5) dealer servicing is poorly trained and lacks professional anything.
    6) output shaft, clutch or gearbox are making terrible grinding noises.
    7) oil leak on clutch cover, one of bigger, metal screw in plugs near the oil inspection gauge.
    8) headligh lets water in, not much but enough to be annoying.
    All services were done on time, half of this is poor quality engineering or assembly, the other half is poorly trained mechanics that reuse gaskets and tell you there's "no problem" until you actually compare the same bike side my side and point out the differences.
    This is after only 5,500kms. Called customer service and they're not too interested, stop by the dealership all the time and they never fix anything properly. This is of course in the country I live in and very few things are done properly.

      @brucecampbell4485 Год назад

      I'm also in Australia. Have a 2020 650GT which now has over 25,000km (bushfires, floods, Covid and health issues have slowed me down). As I got 3 years warranty I was prepared to take a risk. I've had 2 hiccoughs. First one shortly after purchase when it went on to one cylinder. But, I had my phone plugged into a USB port and the phone malfunctioned and shut down. Once I noticed this, re-booted phone and lo and behold, the GT was running on both cylinders again. Second hiccough occurred this weekend after I hit a large bump. Bike suddenly lost power and warning light came on. Pulled over, re-started bike then hit the Select button. Warning light went out and everything back to normal. I then proceeded to do over 1000km over the next 3 days. I've had those sorts of issues on many bikes, so not overly worried. Neither of these issues took more than 2 mins to fix.
      Couple or things I have noticed: it took a long time to bed in the suspension(15k kms). Its now much more supple. However, the suspension works much better with a load on the bike. I'm 71kg, so anyone heavier than that will probably be comfortable. I did not like the original tyres. I now have a set of Pilot Road 5's on the bike. Much more betterer. Don't clean the airfilter by yourself. The fairing is actually double skinned and has to be removed, together with tank, to get to filter. Pain in the arse, and I leave that up to a mechanic. At least its oiled foam. I made up some spacers for the mirrors. I can now see much more behind me. I've also finally been able to get hold of a rear luggage rack which makes packing up for a trip much easier.
      Generally the brakes are more than adequate and most people will be happy with them. But, 2 months ago I rode a bike I had sold 14 years previously (MuZ Skorpion). I had kept in touch with the new owner and he let me take it for a ride. It made me realise how crappy the brakes on both my current bikes are (the 650 GT and Kawa Versys 300). Where you squeeze the brakes hard on these 2, you caress the brake on the MZ very gently. Grabbing a handfull of brake is similar to hitting a brick wall.
      Overall, I'm very impressed with the 650GT. Its been reliable and is very comfortable.
