- The Farleigh mill is located just north of Mackay in northern Queensland , a section of this sugar cane railway climbs Church Hill, probably the steepest section of still operating adhesion railway in Australia .

Hi, John, thoroughly enjoyed the vids of Qld sugar cane railways. Back in the late 80's did some linesiding at near Bundaberg and more recently around Mossman. These narrow gauge lines have a certain character and you have captured it so well. Nearest we have in the UK is across the water in Ireland with peat bog railways.

Now i'm wondering how did the steam locomotives were able to climb on a steep hill back then.
