    The man has arguably the greatest hip hop album of all time. Had the same album inducted into the library Congress at Harvard university. They study illmatic for poetry. And also couple years ago he received an ICON award. Also in the last 2 years he has dropped 3 Classic Albums for the history of the hip hop culture. With topics about almost everything we live in today's world. Any shot at this genius is just a hate move . He's a living legend and the G.O.A.T. In hip hop and all hip hop heads know that. Congrats guys on your channel. Great for the culture

    Im saying this before i even start playing the video. Even if we stay current and dont delve in the past greatness . A rapper dropped 4 of the 10 best albums of the last 2+ years, they all charted well and broke the internet. He has been touring and performing since 2020 nonstop to sold out audiences without having to cancle due to poor ticket sales( which 21 savage has done).His most recent songs are used regularly on Espn, the show the Ozarks had a whole episode centered around his album (the GOAT album), His media company produces some of the greatest documentaries and content like "rhythm roulette", every hihphop podcast talks about him at least once a week, he has had some great features, been in a commercial with one of the greatest athletes in the world for one of the biggest brands in the world. Can 21 savage match that?.

  • @harrykatsaros
    @harrykatsaros Год назад +4

    It’s still BS. If Jay-Z had released these projects - from KD1 through Magic and KD3 - the exact same bars, the exact same beats, the exact same flows… mainstream media radio, magazines and websites would be telling everyone to just give up because they’ll never be able to compete with what Jay just did in the last 2 years.
    When hip hop fans feel like, “yo this is some BS” and feel like they need to call out these major outlets for doing Nas dirty, that by itself is indicative of a problem. Why doesn’t rap media respect it’s icons equally? Can you imagine if every time the Rolling Stones put out new music, the media either ignored it and/or tried to shit on it because they were worried about how it would effect the legacy of The Beatles? It’s ridiculous.

    • @harrykatsaros
      @harrykatsaros Год назад +2

      @@TheRapRoundtable I don’t think there’s anyone out there that loves hip hop just for the sake of hip hop as much as Nas, and it’s wack that some people try really hard to make it feel like it doesn’t love him back. It’s like with hip hop turning 50. It’s a big deal, and Nas is the only one trying to celebrate it with these EPs he’s putting together mixing old school with the new generation.
      He also did finally address all this media blackball stuff for the first time in KD3 though.
      In WTF SMH: “Community love, providing jobs. Why would you try to come for me, why you ain't proud of Nas?"
      And in 30: “And now I can't tell if all the good that I did's bein' hid with they agenda again, ni**a. I know that y'all prayin' I go back to nothin'. We in the future, let's get past the frontin”
      I think it clearly bothers him. He just doesn't want to be the guy who does interviews and plays the victim card. The tide can turn on you real easy if you become that guy that complains all the time. He basically laid that all out in I'm On Fire...
      "I'm scorchin' and I never forced it. Even when forces and powers that be went against me. Y'all use that as an excuse, you dudes cannot convince me. Or trick me out my spot, y'all want my shit like Sherman Hemsley. I'm debunking the blackball myth, the facts more or less. I might hurt your feelings but, yo, sometimes it actually is.
      Victimization, mix that with some entitlement. It's bound to explode. I make 'em stop, drop, and roll, move to the side with it. There's no stoppin' it, I'm rap's arsonist"

    Addressing Nas working with other producers outside of hit boy.
    I believe it will not ruin the chemistry that they have. hit boy has made great music with other rappers During this Kings disease / magic run. hit has produced for game, Beyoncé, big Sean and the butcher, just to name a few. A massive amount of output. But none of that work disturbed the chemistry that he shares with nas. Nas worked on outside projects as well, he’s been on concert produced documentaries and still has been able to get back to form. The connection of hit boy and nas have is not a fluke. If we believe in both these artists, if we believe that Kings disease is not simply luck. Then we should trust the nas ( just like hit) should be able to work with other producers and still be able continue his work with his boy. Let’s have faith that they will be able to return to form if given enough time and effort.
    All that being said, I am ready for a premier album. And I trust that album, and that work that he does with Premo will not affect his relationship or artistry with hit boy.
