      Darrell, to say that it’s versatile is almost an understatement. You were able to get so many different tones. It’s so crisp, too. That guitar in my opinion sounds just as good as the higher end guitars out there. I wouldn’t have thought twice if it was double what they want for them. Real ear and eye candy. Great pick for a review. I want one now. Thank you Darrell! 👍🏼

      Is there a reason than why basically every one I see someone do a cover with on YT, has more fret buzz than I've ever heard before? I never played one because I'm a lefty and there's not any available to go and just pick up to try, but I almost bought one used for $300 or $400 a month or so ago online.. I mean to me they literally sound like the time when I put my saddles all the way down on my bass guitar when I first got it 😂. Every Fender I've played doesn't exactly do that. I've never heard one on a video either that sounds like it's dead, but the schecter ones are another story. And many of these guys seemed to have had them setup well too. I beleive iirc, one or two even made a comment about that. I guess what I'm saying is I never got the appeal of them, considering they're not even in the realm of typical Squier, Epiphone, or used Fender prices usually, at least for me anyway being lefty.. But I almost jumped on that wagon.

      @@justanotherguitarplayer9767 Some guitarists videos may have used Schecters not set up properly or they are set too low on the action, string guages , tunings used also, playing articulations, so frets buzz and it comes through on videos for a number of reasons, poor sound gear guality and parameter settings or poor quality video. I hear that fret buzz in videos with varying logoed electric guitars more than acoustic guitars. Sometimes, Effects Gear Tone, outputs into tones that mimics fret buzz ! ! ! • @jonewah
      @jonewah 3 года назад

      @@dustindavis3348 I stays in tune pretty well. Not as good as a hard tail would of course. I did put Hipshot locking tuning keys on mine. I did this mostly for ease of string changes, not because of tuning stability issues. It does come stock with Grover (non-locking) tuning keys, a Graph Tech Tusq nut and a roller bridge. All of that is great and contributes to the stability. If you use the Bigsby for light vibrato (as it was intended) tuning is not much of an issue. I do, on a few songs, do some more exreme bending with the Bigsby, like dropping the bar all the way down to the body. I will touch up the tuning after finishing the song when I do that. Generally a string or two is off somewhat, but not far enough for the tuner to think it's a different note. Just slightly flat or sharp. Usually flat, and often a quick tug up on the bar will put it back to where it needs to be. It's never gone out of tune far enough to delay a show so I could tune. My backup guitar is in drop-D and I will use that for those songs so I don't have to change tunings between songs, just swap guitars. The Schecter is still my number one guitar and I don't feel the tuning stability is an issue at all.

All three of these guitars have carbon fiber and double action truss rods in the necks. Extra Neck Stability and Sustain. I'm still getting used to the Reverse Headstock. There is only one thing and it's a big negative for me that I hate though, and turns me off taking it off the wall, and that is, it weighs a ton. My experience in hearing other vids of this guitar is that there is a big drop off in decibels when you switch to the coil split tones. Thus I never got one. This is true of most coil split guitars other than PRS in my experience. Did you feel this way about the coil splits?

    • @nevillegreg1
      @nevillegreg1 4 года назад +1

      @@nazmoking3171 Yes, you lose significant volume when you coil split, just kick on a clean boost pedal to resolve. What's good though, in the middle position, you can split one pick-up and get a strat like tone, Premier Guitar did a review some years back check it out in this regard. And I agree with your PRS experience, I have a PRS s2 Custom 24 and it has the best coil split that I've experienced , but hey, it costs a lot more. The PRS is the only guitar I actually use the coil split, if I want a single coil tone I just pick up my Tele or Yamaha 502T.

    Watched the video, and then bought the guitar. And WOW, it's just as good as you said, and the sound is amazing for what I was looking for! It is not a shred guitar, but has more of a classic guitar tone. Great for clean jazz, classic rock, and church music. Mine also seems to have a lot of thick mids and lows, at least more than I expected. So, I turn up the treble on the amp, and it's the exact thick low break-up tone I wanted. I have several guitars that cost much more than this, and I put the fastback head to head with a couple Gibsons, Fenders, and PRSs and the Schector was more of what I was looking for, not to mention the fit and finish of the Schector easily beat the Gibsons. I still love a good LP, but, we all know the fit and finish issues. I'm extremely pleased with the Fastback. At this price, I may buy another one as a gift to my son, because he won't leave mine alone. Thank you for the video which gave me the confidence to try a brand I was not as familiar with.

    Darrell, great channel, finally subbed. Two minor gripes, and this goes for every other guitar review channel 1) can you please give a description of the neck SIZE? Something comparable to what you believe it is closest to in Fender terms (early 60s standard C, thinner C, early 50s fat D or U. Maybe even compared to PRS pattern necks (wide thin, regular, wide fat etc?) Nut width, actual and string to string would be helpful. 2) Weight, like exact weight. I know guitars will vary but it's important to many. Thx!

    Just got mine this week, I have to agree with you, for the money I don't think you can get a better made, versatile guitar, sounds great, plays fantastic, I put mine on the bench and gave it a complete look over, I could not find a single flaw. Incredible sounding guitar. Mine was payment for a LP makeover, he wanted EMGs, so for the upgrade and work he gave me this, still in the box. A good trade definitely. I absolutely love, a bit heavier than a Tele but not overly so, but it is a very well made guitar, it's a keeper for sure.

    Darrell, keep up the amazing work and keep pushing Schecter!!! I’m afraid they are slowly fading away from the limelight and we can’t let that happen! They are too focused on the Metal crowd for their own good and their more classic style guitars get very little to no publicity from them at all whatsoever! I’d like you and other Schecter loving youtubers to keep pushing them so that they keep producing them don’t go away completely

    It has a classic look. I really don't like the pickguards on regular Fender Teles, but I do like the deluxe.
    I also enjoyed your demo of the PT Pro, and I'm considering buying one. This one has a more vintage vibe/look, which is not what I'm looking for, but should I change my mind, it is a definite contender.

    Mahogany tonewood is a relatively heavy choice, and you’ll feel the weight of it more than basswood, alder and ash around your shoulder, though it’s not as dense as some brighter-sounding woods.
