- If you're spying a vintage-flavored electric guitar with undeniable style and snarling tone, then you must plug a Schecter PT Special into your favorite amplifier. Built from a solid slab of swamp ash, this T-style axe simply bleeds harmonic resonance, while a custom set of Diamond pickups serve up classic, muscular-sounding tones by the truckload. I just bought one. First impression: so good sound! Each string you can hear separtely in an accord, very selective. Great sustain, very comfortable! It is special. This video convinced me to this choice.

Wow, that is gorgeous! I had a Fender Tele a couple years back that I really liked a lot, but ultimately decided I liked contours vs slab, so I sold it. This Schecter is definitely on my radar now :)

I will admit, I enjoy your demos....you don't use crunch or dirt or distortion when you play a guitar. You keep it clean and allow the full tones to be displayed. Don't ever stop doing demos. This is one of my favorite videos on this model. Keep on rocking dude! 🤘

I just bought the Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic in the Zircote top, based on your review. It is a BEAUTY. And if plays so well! I love the 5 way switch, and it gives so many tones. Each one of the 5 positions is totally different.

I got this guitar a few months ago and my cousin is obsessed with it, so I think I’m going to give it to her for Christmas on Sunday. It plays really fast and smooth and it’s a beauty. Really great guitar, but I also feel good getting rid of it cause it doesn’t suit me.

The guitar I was waiting for you to review, YAY!!! Now that I've had my Schecter PT Elite for a year (modified only by swapping the Metal-oriented Fluence Modern pups for PAF-styled Fluence classics) I've been thinking about adding a second tele style guitar to my palate, but one more traditional. Shijie just released one but they also raised the price a LOT. Most of the Fender models are cool but I'd rather a radius a little flatter than 9.5".I also am considering building a Parts-caster to satisfy my preferences. Even though I was feeling I should branch away from Schecter to try something different, this PT Special is hard to ignore for the money. I am so happy you reviewed it, you help all of us make more informed decisions on guitars we can't actually try before we buy!

I have one of these. Stock bridge pickup wasn’t good for me. I had problems with the bridge saddles…there is no grooves for the strings to sit in, so they slide all over the brass barrel and get caught up in the adjustment screws. I replaced them with some Gotoh compensated saddles. The nut was cut very poorly. Easy fixes and I knew from playing it acoustically that it was something special, so I didn’t mind. After 10 months the switches and knobs are all noisy, so they will be replaced with quality parts.
Totally get you Joe.. I’m facing the same problems with the saddles.. I’m getting them notched (grooved)✌️❤️
Great playing! Nice video as well! I have this exact guitar--took a while to finally get this color...it's incredible to me how it feels in terms of quality (and looks) relative to its price point. The p90 is quite Hot, so I had to get used to easing off on the volume, but once you get familiar with it, it is great, and I agree that it gives you more options. I really dig the tone pull feature--gives it a completely different sound. Super awesome instrument--it's a keeper.

I can tell you loved this guitar, your playing was even better - if that’s possible! I was looking at the PT but yesterday I took delivery of the Reverend Double Agent and the P90 in that is great ( but it cost more money!)

Damn! I’m looking for an affordable T-style that is not a Fender. I already have an ‘85 Thinline with Humbuckers. It’s a beautiful guitar but I’ve always wanted one with single coils and something lighter in weight. I had pretty much decided on a Godin Stadium HT. BUT, thank goodness for RUclips. I love the sound of both of those pickups. And it sounds like this unit is much lighter than my thinline. I’ll have to see if I can play them side by side. I like to play an electric guitar without plugging it in so I can hear the resonance and get the feel of the neck and the playability. Then I’ll plug it in and see how it sounds through a nice, clean amp. Thanks for a great demo.

@@gillesgenete9598 yes, I put in a Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90 in the neck. I use it all the time on my RUclips channel.
Thank you Jon, I have had this guitar on my list to look at once things settle down, and guitar shop browsing is back in fashion! Not the highest price range from Schecter, but it seems all their guitars are worth a closer look at (and she's a real pretty guitar... just sayin' LOL And they do a green version too!) Thank Miss Janet again for us, she seems to be replete in charm, good looks and taste in guitars!! I think, given what you said about the V90 and the general playability I will certainly be heading in their direction (they are in-stock near me too in the UK). Although, I am vacillating between Schecter and Yamaha at the moment!!! Ahhh, first world problems!

Realizing some time has passed since this was originally posted, I'm very much interested in this model, in this color, so this popped up in my feed when looking for some reviews. I just had to comment on the song beginning at 1:56. That sounded fantastic!

I have that guitar, but I had to change the bridge pup to a Hot Rails to better match it up with the neck. The bridge was very thin and the volume imbalance between the two was drastic.
I also ditched the series/parallel switching simply because I could not discern an audible difference. I upgraded both pots to high end 500k pots for more linear control of both the tone and volume. Other than that, this is the sweetest T style guitar out there. With the hot rails, it is more of a rocker than a country guitar, which is fine with me because I don't play country.

@@JonIsJustTooLoud I studied all sorts of pickups, listened to sound clips, watched reviews, and that pickup is an excellent match for the neck. I still had to lower the neck pickup some to balance the volume and pick attack between the two.
i have a strat with a hotrail and love it on that, but I wouldn’t do it with this guitar. Seems to defeat the whole purpose of getting a tele
@@Augrills not really, it's just a harder hitting tele. It's very similar to a tele deluxe as far as tone.

I like the green one with blue burst. My only concern is with intonation. Every one I've seen, the B/E saddle is beyond maxed out, which should not be the case imho. A new guitar should always have room for adjustment sharp and flat.

If you get the chance to try an EART SSS, their cheapest guitar, you should definately try one. I got one and after changing the pups to 3 very cheap Roswell humbuckers in single coil format along with a push-push pot, my 2000-7000 usd guitars are just hanging colloecting dust. This SSS has a life of its own..abd its tag around 200 usd is completely insane..
