The X3M Competition is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder engine, making 510hp and 650Nm (479 pound-feet).
This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system that can send 100 percent of the engine's torque to the back wheels.
0 to 60 mph takes 3.3 seconds
50 to 70 mph takes 3.1 seconds
quarter-mile takes 11.6 seconds
Price from $70,895 / £85,100 / €95.000
In this new incarnation, BMW uses components of the M3 sedan and M4 coupe. Torque goes up by 37 pound-feet, to 479.
Outside, in the front we recognise a larger one-piece grille and in the back the sculpted taillights are the eyecatcher.
The Competition package adds a gloss-black grille and mirror caps and nets a standard sport exhaust system and black 21-inch wheels (versus 20s on the regular M).
