@@avalanche9142 that is a big problem. I've had a 2 litre ND Mx-5, which was an awesome car to drive, if a bit underpowered. I've had a phev Kia Optima, front wheel drive, could not put the power down, but was quite good. This MB with rear wheel drive is much better and having electric power available makes it much quicker off the line even when using EV drive only makes it surprisingly fun to drive. So it has to be either another decent phev, pure EV or something with a V6/V8 engine. I was looking at V6 Kia Stinger, polestar 2 300kw variant [these are dirt cheap in UK atm], new one I would consider the ioniq5 N. If Mazda released a longer range cx-60 phev, I would probably take that. It would replace both my Merc and my wife's aging cx-5. We don't really need 2 cars anymore. The unfortunate truth though is that I would have to take 7k loss on the c300e if I were to replace it now, so kinda stuck.

the car will be scrapped well before the battery dies. Modern cars are full of screens and software, that will break sooner than the battery.

Whaaat? Are you serious? The hyperscreen just is a fundamental part of this car imo… so you get a classic e-class dashboard instead?

I heard about the Hyperscreen passenger monitor being only visible to the co-driver because of the reduced viewing angle, but I'm not 100% sure this version has that technology. Would make a lot of sense though!

I don't think there is a full electric GLE, just a plug-in hybrid with a petrol or a diesel engine.

I'm not sure if you can spec it with a full closed roof. But there is a classic blind that goes in front of the glass roof, so no smart diffusing glass like in the Taycan CrossTurismo or the BMW iX.

The central information display and the co-driver display are both OLED screens in a curved surface, I don’t know about the exact nits they produce, but I’ve never had the problem of seeing what was on the screens. There is glare & reflections for sure, but it wasn’t problematic, even in full sun. The Hyperscreen in this configuration looks quite stunning tbh.

You know cars can be modded and modded supra 100x better than porsche and I dont think 981 boxter or cayman gts goes fot 50k £

in the video, your hear an opf (petrol particulate filter) car. first mod would be opf delete, but will not work, ecu errors. And the 981, opf free, yes. ;)

But this is not at all, any simple "auto high beam" but a digital computer controlled light system that far surpasses the old technology. - As the Opel Insignia was first with publicly in the summer of 2008 together with the BMW 7- series, two months later, being the first cars with a camera in the windshield that, among other features, also offered the automatic high beam. VW and Audi came later than Opel and BMW. But Opel Insignia also has a lot more, not only automatic high beam, but also the then computer-controlled AFL - headlamp system with 9 different light patterns and functions, including swinging cornering light and a special mode for rain and snow which, for example, reduces light reflections and glare from wet ashfall. Something much more than just a "automatic high beam".
