Thank you for sharing your tips! It's interesting because I use prescription Tetrinoin, and my dermatologist told me very specifically to not apply it to wet skin or immediately after washing. But that's probably to avoid sensitivity and over absorption. I might try once a week doing the damp skin version and see if it makes a difference after a month or two!
I really appreciate it that you are always so honest in your videos and sponsor free....a lot of yt is sponsored and many influencers are not very open about their content being sponsered! love you
Nice! Finding a better way to do things is always a win, I love learning. It makes sense. My mom was a hairdresser and some hair treatments worked better on damp hair. As she explained to me. If you pour water on a very dry sponge, it sometimes runs off, but if it is slightly damp, it absorbs much better. Voila!
I found out short time ago, that many products needs a damp skin before using it mainly my serums. But for everything, that was new for me but logical, we all know that it opens the pores. I began to change to retinal a month ago, works really good, I began with the ordinary 0,2 and then found the Seoul 1988 retinal liposome 2% with black ginseng, that‘s a bit better more fluidly. As always thanks so much for your interesting content!
I have been dipping my toes into applying my retinoid on damp skin slowly. I'm on my second bottle of the Ordinary Retinal 0.2, so I'm going to dive on in!
Yes a great idea. I have to be cautious with the level of Vitamin C I use. So any hints and tips on making the most of the Vitamin C I can use would be very much appreciated 😊
This is exactly what I was after! I sent a message on your previous video just an hour ago asking for help as my retinal progress seems to have come to a halt! Especially under my eyes I’m just not seeing any progress a year after starting and increasing strength 😭
Perfect timing as I'm always concerned what other serums and products I can use with my Retinals, both b4 and after application. Would love to see a video on Lactic Acid (mature normal/dry skin here) and other Acids which I use only in the pm.
Hi Rob, fun video! Nothing wrong with a Quickie! 😂 I'm going to try this with my Medik8 Crystal Retinal 20. I may wait another couple of weeks, since this strength is a bit new to me. Byeeeeeee
@@MadAboutSkin Glad you liked it! I could really use a refresher, because I always wonder if I'm using it correctly. Little things, like if it I should let my face dry before using it, and how long I should wait before I put on moisturizer after? I know I can't possibly be the only one, and it seems like all the channels assume we just know ha ha! I love your series, it's such a great idea, because a lot of people don't ask these questions because they don't want to look foolish!
My skin is oily and not very sensitive. I actually dampen with cosrx 15% niacinamide then follow with .05 tret cream then skin1004 centella soothing cream every night and experience no redness, stinging or irritation.

Hi Rob and thanks for another great video. I think it's a really good idea with videos focusing on use of one ingredient. I always start my skincare with matrixyl and Argireline i usually massage in that so it's kinda dry, after that comes my retinal. Should i change that up? Sprits my face then retinal and after that the peptides? Who doesn't want to maximise the effect of the products we are using 😊 Hugs to your fur and feather kids xxx
Hey Rob! I have been wanting to ask you… Have you seen the new Retinal launch from K SECRET from their Seoul 1988 Line? They just dropped a 4% Retinal Eye Cream and I need you to comment, test, review and give us your thoughts! Ever since you mentioned and suggested their 2% Serum version I’ve been wanting to try their Retinal Line. I used Geek&Gorgeous A Game for a while and loved it (thanks to you, again) and I have been meaning to go higher in concentration. What do you think about the 4%? Congrats on your successful rebranding, I can’t wait to buy the Peptide Serum again when it comes back in stock. Much love xxx
Hi Rob, definitely going to try this! I've been using The Ordinary .2% emulsion for past 3 months. I've been putting their pink barrier serum on first, letting it dry and then the retinal. Can I still use the barrier serum, let it dry and then use the G&G and then retinal?
mwuhahahaha 😂😂😂 Ooo i love this hack and yea same as have never really thought about doing this with my retinal application funnily enough as i love applying my others onto damp skin ! Thank you I always appreciate your advise I have been using 10% azelaic acid for several weeks and it’s practically got rid of very red sensitive skin. I saw you recommend it. I had previously tried 2 different creams from the doctor which didn’t help at all. Can you tell me if the azelaic derivative is as good as standard azelaic. I have been using the one from beauty pie which is really lovely but it’s been out of stock so now I am using the Dr Sam’s but I’m finding it a bit grainy? Any help would be appreciated xx
