Hi Cheryl! I have two Good Will stores near me but I have never seen these bins. I will have to ask them. What is the wooden sock thing with holes? It’s very unique looking. I can’t believe how much you got. Great deal! We have a small thrift store near us named Memory Lane. The owners Mom has Alzheimer’s and he donates 100% of the proceeds to Alzheimer’s research. I love supporting them. They’re a wonderful family. I was just there and found out every time a customer rounds up their total those proceeds go towards an animated baby doll or dog or cat. They’ve discovered it helps calm them down so when they can they buy one and donate it. So my wonderful husband just went online and bought one to give to them to donate. Made me cry. He’s so awesome. Hope you have a blessed Sunday Cheryl! - Kristin
He’s a keeper for sure! What a wonderful way to bless others, I love that idea for a charity. Here’s what I found in the sock dryer: a late 1800s-early 1900s Wooden Stocking Stretcher or sometimes referred to a Stocking Airer or Sock Stretcher. Stretchers were first used to maintain the size and shape of long woolen socks so when wet, they would not shrink. The holes in the stretcher are to allow air circulation which helped the socks to dry quicker. There was always a well thought out purpose to everything made back then.
@@farmhousefrugally Yes he is 🥰That’s so amazing how they made use of the simplest things back then. How cool! I love primitive. I’m 49 and grew up watching Little House. I don’t know of that’s what mad me love primitive so much but it’s just simple beauty. Make do with what you got kinda thing. Or like my hubby likes to say If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. 🤣 Primitive just does something to my soul
Thank you, Barbara. I have been thinking of growing it to donate. Having had breast cancer years ago and having no hair, I appreciated a wig. 😏 I’m not sure if I can get it long enough though. I think they take 8”.
Unbelievable haul! Probably good there’s no Goodwill bins near me. With your crafting talent, I’m sure you’ll make beautiful things from this thrifting trip. Thanks for sharing.
I love that second picture that you showed. The reindeer look great on your New Year's tablescape. The aluminum thing you showed is an egg separator. My grandmother had one of those in her kitchen utensil drawer.
Great haul, Cheryl. I am so happy you found that item you were looking for. I love odd looking things, so I would have picked it up, just for the look of it. I live old kitchen gadgets and old tools, too. 😊
We have a new Goodwill and it's supposed to be the largest one in several counties. I haven't been there yet. The parking lot looks like Christmas shopping at Walmart. I will go on a much slower time. Looks like the bins are a good deal.
I just want the frames. If you want the pictures I’ll send them once I get them out (sealed backs so I’ll have to see how they were set). Email me your address.
I don't go to Goodwill much although I'm starting to go since I've started watching so many crafters on RUclips who get lots of neat things there to upcycle. What are the bins? I've heard several crafters say they went to the bins at Goodwill. All I see at mine is the usual junk on shelves. Please enlighten me. Also, I've heard so many crafters say they have a "free shack" or some other term for a free area at their dump. I have never been to my local dump. I send my husband when I have stuff to dispose of. I have asked him if our dump has a free junk area. He says no. But he doesn't generally notice things he's not looking for, or else he just doesn't want me bringing more junk home😂 Those who have free areas at your dump, is it out front and labeled, or do you have to look for it? I live in central Virginia and I don't understand why my Goodwill doesn't have bins and my dump doesn't have a free shack. Or do they?
Hi Doris. If you google Goodwill Outlet you will see if there are any in your area. They sell huge bins of all the Goodwill stuff at by the weight prices. Clothing and glass are like 50 cents a lb. Certain things are more. I have a video of my dump. I’ll post a link in a minute. We have 4-5 huge tables set up and a sign posted of what can be left. If you are a resident, you can take or leave anything g on them. After a bit what is left (days if no rain) is put into landfill.
We have only ones GW Bins store sorta close to us but it's an hour -ish away and it is HORRIBLE. just read the reviews for the one located by Greenville SC. It's just bad. I wish they would clean house or add another one close by.
@farmhousefrugally well, I'm mostly speaking about the staff. They're always fighting with the customers. Like an actual nose to nose about to throw punches the last time I went. Yelling and cussing across the store... After that, I decided not to return.
It’s an egg white separator! What a great haul!
Cool. It was a great haul I can’t wait to redo a few things.
Worth digging for sure.
You have many great finds and projects a head of your can’t wait to see! Thanks, Terri
I can't wait to start working on them!
Especially love the reindeer and the frames!
Silver and gold 😂

I loved Little House and read every Laura Ingalls book from age 8 on.
@@farmhousefrugally 👏🥰 Mr Edward’s was the best! Well Old Dan Tucker was a fine old man. Washed his face in a frying fan 🤣

Wow great haul! I love all your items! You lucked out! 👍🥰❤️
Thanks, Terry. I think it was a great haul too.
I love so many of the items. I would dig through the crap 😂
😂 🤣 yup!
Great haul, Cheryl. Your hair is looking especially lovely. The round silver item is an egg yolk separator. Happy New Year!❤

Hi Cheryl, you got some awesome stuff. Good finds. 🧡
Thanks so much. I love to find such great pieces.
Thanks for going through that with us. Love the haul. God blessed you today 💞💞💞the skates are to die for😀
Thanks, Joni. It was a good day at the thrift store! Love the skates too. God bless your week.

Thank you, Sarah. I’m looking forward to trying.

Thanks so much! 😊. I’m delighted with the reindeer. Yes, someone said egg separator. It never occurred to me. 😂
If the first person who asked for it doesn’t give her address, I’ll send to you.
@@farmhousefrugally That's nice. Thank you!

It’s usually hard to find good kitchen gadgets near me. I almost never see the wood handled or painted ones.

Good for you. Definitely mostly junk, but if you don’t mind digging, there is plenty to be found. Hopefully you can go first thing when it’s quieter.
Omg I love the reindeer 🎉🎉🎉
I was delighted when I opened the box!
Egg separator before the cookie cutters❤
Thank you 😊
I have a level and saw that belonged to my grandfather.
Love it! Great memories too.
It’s an egg separator.
Thank you!
Maximalist. Lol that's hilarious. 😂 I just to be a minimalist and now I think I've turned into a maximalist. 🤷🏻♀️🥴
I need to pare down but I just can’t 🤣
I would have absolutely gotten the nutcracker ❤😊😂
I literally thought “how many creators would love this nutcracker “ as I passed it by. 🤣
That metal thing you called grungy kitchen thing, I think it's an egg yolk separator... I think.
Thanks. I guess it is. I’m surprised I couldn’t figure it out.
I love the pictures in the frames, i would take them if you are serious about giving them away 😊

It is pretty much 90% trash.

Yikes. I can’t imagine. Sad
What is that thing that was shaped like a sock with holes in it?
Edit: Nevermind, I read your previous reply to someone else who asked. 😊
