Hi! I just laid topsoil down for new beds. I’m in Ohio too… what mulch do you suggest??

We use a lot of ground up leaves. A nearby facility takes in leaves from the city each fall and they compost on site. We try to avoid grass clippings as so many people spray their yards.

Do you remove the mulch in the spring when you plant or do you just plant directly through the mulch?

I just move it back and make a trench.

I had tomato worms this year. Someone recommended I put seven dust all over my entire garden area this fall, but I don't want to do that. Suggestions?

Try companion plants and marigolds. Also look up JADAM pest control, basically you grow several plants, boil, and spray. All organic methods.
