      Well, per the constitution, F15s are legal for the common citizen. As are cannon, bombs, rockets (so much for the F15), hand grenades and for that matter nukes.
      Biden also shows that he doesn't understand war, a F15 is really not all that good at taking out a single person (no matter their pronouns) on the ground. Now if he talked about using a Warthog, well that is something else.

      1. You cannot win an asymetric war. You can dominate but you cannot win.
      2. Last dominant war fought was WW2 which showed you need about 40:1 civilian to soldier ratio to operate as a successful occupation force with absoute control over the population.
      3. Afghanistan was not the first walk away. Vietnam was a walk away. Sometimes it is the smartest thing to do. If the local government is not invested in it's well being, you cannot prop it up forever.

    What it looks like to the rest of the world - to use crazy equipment against citizens will ruin its reputation and will wake the rest of the nation up to what's happening.
    An armed population prevents them from going quietly. From making them dissappear in silence, onto trains and into camps... an armed citizen may not beat a plane or a tank, but if a country has to use those against their people, they are risking a great deal, from insurrection and just putting all of their cards on the table. The government is far more powerful using subtle methods, and we will absolutely be conquered if we allow the subtle methods to be commonplace.

    I served in the Marines in the early 80's and one discussion that occasionally came up was what would we do if we were ordered to fire upon civilians. I can say that every time it came up the majority said it depended on the situation, and the situation that Biden is inferring is a case where the population is standing up to a tyrannical gov't, in this situation a majority said they would side with the citizens since the oath taken when entering the military puts defending the constitution ahead of the President and Congress. This is something I don't think any politician realizes or they wouldn't consider some of the stuff they do.

      One example;
      Tench Coxe: "The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American... [T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." - Pennsylvania Gazette (February 20, 1788)
