    Interior, non weight-bearing, esthetically pleasing elements could be made of bamboo instead of wood. Bamboo is strong grass and grows quickly.

    I loved the etched stones. A lot more expense and work, but it’s fit for an alleged developed country like the U.S.

    Structurally they could have used normal building materials such as metal, concrete, and use wood for the more aesthetic element. That way they would not have needed as much timber AND the building would be stronger as well.
