Thanks for these videos. I want to start up doin this on the weekends. I do construction in Seattle and my daughter (10) showed me this stuff and I have been amazed ever since!
Hey man. Love the videos. Trying to get ready to do my first dip. Glad you took the time to explain about the algorithm. I never realized how much it mattered and never took the time to “like” videos.
Another great video. I’m ready for the merch! I agree double dipping has become my norm. Rolling causes to many redos and I always get tons of stretch.
RUclips is not giving notifications for most pew pew channels. I have to search the channels to see if you have posted a video. Thanks for all the tips!
Hey Chris. I love number “lamp”. I share these with a friend that does cups. Even though she won’t say, I know she watches because she used the Candy Apple red for a cup. Keep up the great work!
Just a big 'Thank You' to you Chris for your videos. I have been dipping in my gunsmithing shop for 4 years now, and roll dipped most things (Barrels, rifle actions, scopes etc.) stocks with integral trigger guards and thumbhole stocks ALWAYS sucked, with lots of do-overs or touch-up. After watching who-knows how many of your double dip videos and tip videos, I finally had the balls to double dip a stock and it turned out perfectly! I still am on 'baby deer legs' when I tape it off, but with time things will get better I'm sure. Thanks again!
That is awesome bro. Glad it is working out well for you! The double dip took me some time to perfect but I am 100% sold on it now. I double dip whenever possible.
@@AllThingsFunHydrographics I can see that! The length of overhang of the tape has to be just right, and the angle of dip, etc. but man does it work well! Virtually 'zero' touch-up. Thanks again.
Chris, new to your channel and love it! One quick question if you don't mind... is there a time window between the dip and the rinse? Like, is there "too soon to start rinsing"? And is there "you waited too long to rinse"?
I just recently found your channel and I am hooked. Liked, subscribed, notifications on and following along. 😁 Absolutely love your content and have been inspired to try my hand at dipping. I have already bought some stuffs from OHW through your links. 👍. I do have a couple questions. Saw your video on. The glowing mailbox. Wow, and that was bad ass. What glow paint did you use or can you use any old glow paint? Also are hydrographics paints oil based. I found a glow spray paint but it says oil based and I don't want to screw anything up. Any info is very helpful. Thank you so much for your hard work and your amazing videos. You are an inspiration sir. 👍👍👍
Glad to have you and thanks for the sub! The glow paint I use is from Big Brain Graphics. All of the paints I use are urethane based. Stick with actual hydro dipping paints instead of off the shelf oil based and you will have a lot less issues.
Hi, I ran out of film, thought I had enough, first timer here, learned the hard way on that one! I have more coming in 4 days... Wondering if I can wait to gloss the already dipped items? I have one piece not dipped left. Couldn't find a video going over how long you can wait to gloss after dipping. Felt they all talk about how soon you can after! Thank you in advance!
uhhh well, on question number microwave, we discussed the importance of maintaining your flux capicator so that it will not overheat and cause the the tip to explode. Basic muffler bearing changes go a long way to prevent the aliens from putting pancakes on your roof!
Awesome video like always! What do you think of OHW Y2K clear coat? It sounds like an aerosol "epoxy" and I do a lot of tumblers so I'm looking for something more durable and OHW estimates 10 to 15 square feet of coverage per can and I'm not sure how many tumblers that equals.
Sometimes they are customers, but most of them are just demos that we have in the shop for people to look at and we change the designs on them when I come up with new ideas.
So i have been having issues with my clear coat causing my dipped product to fade horribly, what am i doing wrong? Given my paint isn't dipping paints because i cant afford that right now.
Hey chris first things first, thank you for all your videos it has motivated me to open a workshop in Mogadishu Somalia Africa. Have my dip tank, films etc. Is it possible to for me to have in contact with you. Again much thanks and respect.
You would think it is an easy concept to understand, but you would laugh if you saw the hundreds of emails I get each weeks of people asking the same easy questions over and over.
Thanks for all the videos....I haven't started but trying to learn all I can before I do
Awesome video. Love the bloopers.

Thanks so much for doing these vids. Very informative, and entertaining.

Another great video. I’m ready for the merch! I agree double dipping has become my norm. Rolling causes to many redos and I always get tons of stretch.
Yeah man, rolling has never worked out good for me. It is just so much easier and looks better when I double dip.
@@AllThingsFunHydrographics I’ve started using your ghost seam after you explained it on your live chat. Works great
@@terrylockwood2430 It works pretty well for most patterns. There are still a few I like to leave a straight seam line but it is few and far between.
Thanks for the video

They really make me mad with that crap. I have the same issues not getting notifications from youtube on my favorite pew pew channels.
Hey Chris. I love number “lamp”. I share these with a friend that does cups. Even though she won’t say, I know she watches because she used the Candy Apple red for a cup. Keep up the great work!

Sometime in the future how about a video on ur double dip taping process? Maybe cover ghost seam and such
I did a complete video over on Patreon about double dipping.
Thank you
Could I do this on a watch case or a watch bracelet ?
Tank you
Thanks for putting the video out there! What if you're simply looking for a flat color, is there a decent paint that will hold up?
I personally like the OHW paints and use a flat clear coat over them. That is what I paint boats with.
@@AllThingsFunHydrographics Thanks for the advice!
Awesome!
Thanks
How do you know which base coat to use in order to get the look you want?
Chris, new to your channel and love it! One quick question if you don't mind... is there a time window between the dip and the rinse? Like, is there "too soon to start rinsing"? And is there "you waited too long to rinse"?
Hey thanks! Excellent content! This is probably comment number lamp, just for the algori --thm 😂.
I have a question will the film stick on a moving boat haul
You got a big tank, but it is is big enough for golf cart panels? I was looking at vinyl wrapping. But I don't like the stretching
What if I'm dipping shoes, do I still need to put a clear coat on them?
Number A! Classic🤣
Yes, Yes. The number A, because aliens don't wear hats and I am scared of the toaster.
Can you tell me the brand of lower/upper receiver set you had in this video? Thank you
That was a fostech.

I have a friend wants me to dip his Chrome 22 pocket pistol do u have to sand the chrome then prime and base coat it
:) good video as always
Have you ever dipped a lexan rc body ??
No, I do not work on RC bodies.
Hi, I ran out of film, thought I had enough, first timer here, learned the hard way on that one!

Can I dip over motorcycle ppg paint and if so how do I prep it.
What do you do if you mess up by over or under activation, do you have to do the process all over again
I covered that in detail on another video: ruclips.net/video/c0yIqhZ7j0c/видео.html
I have a question about question yellow and lamp. If she giggles at ahhh just the tip does that mean ahhh you ahhh have to tape off ahhh one side?

How do hydro dip a ruger precision rimfire handguard?
One side at time.
What do I put inside so paint don't get inside
Love vids

Great content! Thanks as always Chris
Thank you Shaun!
Water to a film in a tank is like acid!
Yes it is!!!
Let's see some custom work on toys (boats, atvs, trucks, etc.)
I have done some videos on some of that. Many more to come. I make videos whenever cool projects come in.
Only question i have is how do i dip factory painted stuff i need a video on how to use interclear
Just did a video on that not too long ago. It is called "how to dip without paint"
How would you hydro dip an electric guitar

I like the OHW clears, I use them all the time. It is not like a epoxy, it is a true clear coat like on a car.
My question is how long do you wait to clear coat?
Hello . Who can i hydro diping ponet of car . Do you have video please ??
How can I properly dip a lexan truck body I tried twice and no good one more try
This wold be awesome! Make it happen ATF!
I dont do RC bodies
Thanks for the info. Can’t wait to dip my pew pews
Awesome, thanks for checking out the video.
First timer hear i put my film in the water. As soon as i sprayed the activator the film just separated all over . What did i do wrong
Need to make some sort of dams to keep the film from going all over the place.
There always seems to be pew pews on the shelf in the background, are they your personal pew pews or customers that you are just showcasing?
Sometimes they are customers, but most of them are just demos that we have in the shop for people to look at and we change the designs on them when I come up with new ideas.
So i have been having issues with my clear coat causing my dipped product to fade horribly, what am i doing wrong? Given my paint isn't dipping paints because i cant afford that right now.
You need to save your money and use actual dipping paints and clear coats. Cutting corners will always lead to issues.

What makes the pattern look stretched??
allowing the film to expand too much or dipping at the wrong angle
New sub. :)
