I applied for a PPP loan to save my business. It fit the criteria perfectly, but I was told that the PPP program had already run out of money. Because of the Covid lockdown, and no government assistance, I lost my business and my house, and my son had to delay college. These criminals should all receive the penalty that’s imposed on thieves in Caribbean and African countries.

Yes. That’s because there was no oversight and a ton of fraud. There was a guy that made up social security numbers and got hundreds of PPP loans. EIDL loans were just as bad. You got 10k right away. If you didn’t qualify you didn’t have to pay it back. So the money wasn’t there for the deserving.

My response was something seemed too fishy and easy to me. I said no thanks I don't want to take the easy route. Now all of these people are getting in trouble for doing this and for once my citizen mentality triumphed over my coworkers criminal mentality.

Several people got a ppp loan falsely, there were a few people that would fill out the paperwork for others, tell them what paperwork to fake and ask for $5000 of the loan money for filing the paperwork once they received it. While they are catching a few of these criminals I really feel there were more of these loans that went to fraud then not and they'll never catch them all.

I’m blown away that the recipients of the PPP loan didn’t consider what will happen if their found out to have obtained the funds fraudulently. By virtue of the title of the funds, it’s a LOAN and not a gift. The temptation was great for many and now that bill is coming due. None of that money was a gift. It taken some time, but the investigators are exposing how the funds were obtained and used. Long after the money is gone, living in fear of a fraud charge isn’t worth it.
