just picked one up today at a local shop that’s going out of business tomorrow, they had it brand new in the box with everything marked down to $929. In person this is a beautiful gun that feels great in the hand. The trigger is incredible, has to be pulled to truly appreciate, probably the best factory trigger of any revolver out there. I was glad to find it at a good price, looking forward to getting it to the range. I ordered a set of walnut combat grips from Kimber for $62 which are slightly longer and give you an extra finger groove at the bottom - looking forward to installing them. LOK had some that are similar shape but they aren’t wood and cost $125 instead of $62. I would much rather have genuine Kimber walnut grips just because they look incredible on this gun. Thanks for the great review 👍
I'm looking into my first revolver purchase and did not know to hold it with fingers clear of the cylinder gap. Thanks very much for saving me from learning this the hard way.
That's another reason why I don't use the "modern thumbs forward grip". It's not a flexible technique that I can use in every handgun type. I refuse to do it no matter how many bearded guys in tight T-shirts make fun of me.
@gunslinger .357 The DASA is a real surprise considering there are other revolver makers out there. It's different from the others. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
I picked up the K6 Target and their just very nice revolvers in either configuration , the trigger to me is butter just a very nice fit and finish. I picked the K6 over the Colt King Cobra which is a a great carry gun itself. Kimber really done a great job on the K6.
If you're not concerned with grip length/conceal ability, I recommend ordering the full-size grip from Kimber. It's so much more comfortable and controllable (and enjoyable) to shoot, with a solid, full hand grip on it.
The double action only has a nice trigger. Shooting .357 Magnum is possible but becomes difficult after a dozen rounds as the small size can bruise hands. This is probably one of the best revolvers made currently. The Colt Cobra doesn’t have the fit or quality finish like the K6S. The 3” DASA might be my next revolver.
@boostimalaka1 I almost got the Colt Cobra but didn't feel right for some reason but very happy with the K6s. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciated!
@@timothydrake9173 No, not a real fan of synthetic unless you're shooting steel plate targets and/or shooting it out of a semi automatic firearm. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
Dang it Tiger! I have been wanting one of those! That would have made a great Christmas gift for me. I asked Santa for a lump of coal but, I was naughty so....he brought me a Sig😂👍🇺🇸
I Researched on the web for the Kimber without holding one in my hands before I bought the 3", and after receiving it, I wish I got the 4". I didn't realize just how small this gun is. I don't regret buying it for a second. it's a great gun, but if I could do a do-over, I'd get the 4". Not for the added velocity, but for an all around better shooting gun.
I did say awhile back if they ever make these with the hammer I'd get one... but at $900!!! Think I'll go with a Ruger Gp100 or S&W Combat magnum... I'f I can find one on sale $750 mark I'll jump on it! Love 1911's and Revolvers!! All metal guns last a lifetime!! Would love to leave my daughters one each as it's a Crazy world I'll feel better knowing they can defend themselves
512TEXAS GEAR I paid $700 in my area at a gunshop. Its weird hearing people say they spend so much more money in their location (part of the country). I've recently been spending time shooting steel firearms rather than polymer. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciated! Just subbed you!
I carry the 3" DASA k6s along with a crossdraw 1911. Best of both worlds. 357 for barrier penetration and 45acp for personal preference of performance.
I had a 2019 Colt Cobra 2 inch .357 magnum until I held and dry fired a Kimber K6 CDP. Big mistake. Traded the Colt and haven’t looked back. Kimber got this one right.
My experience with the SP101 reveals it is superior to the K6S in handling magnum loads. But revolvers of this barrel size don’t make effective use of the advantages of magnum loads. That said, the K6S sixth round is a considerable advantage of both S&W J frames and the SP101 especially with +P loads. The K6S has won me over..
The SP101 is a very good firearm, I liked shooting them. I recently did a comparison of 357 revolvers and wish I had one for the comparison. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it! Here is the link of that comparison. ruclips.net/video/F6PjPP8sRcs/видео.html
Good info on the Kimber. But you might want to check your facts on the S&W revolvers with the firing pin on the hammer. Unless it was made pre-WWII, S&W revolvers had a hammer block safety that prevents the firing pin from hitting the primer without the trigger being pulled. Some S&W even had this back to the 1920's. Now if you are talking colt single actions, or clones of the colt single action, then yes always carry hammer down on empty chamber.
@glass3222 Thank you for the information. I ask three people who "claimed" to be a revolver expert. I got one who explained your answer in detail. Again thank you very much for your correction! 👍
@LUIS R DE LEON Yes I have in kaki pants front pocket. Just for short corner store walks, sweeping in front of home or sitting outside. It's ok, no issues. I normally use a holster. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it.
A small lightweight .357 mag. like your K6s is gonna be a blaster! Stick with .38 Spcl +P you will enjoy it more. I remember back in the old days 158gr round nose lead bullets. Very nice, are you going to carry IWB? I prefer leather holsters for small frame revolvers. Kydex just isn't as comfortable.
Why anyone sells a magnum revolver with a grip that doesn't cover the backstrap bewilders me. Unless you have hands like horsehide you're going to end every range session with a bleeding hand and a blister. Ruger figured that out, Kimber began to offer their proprietary "control core" rubber grips for awhile and now seem to have dropped them, along with many of the K6S variations. Fortunately, Hogue have finally brought out their own rubber grips for the K6S.
@Monty Casper Well you make a huge valid point. I'll have to check out the Hogue grips you talked about. Yes the 357 loads beat the crap out of my hand. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
@@KeanonGilliamSlang369 If you do, please upload a review. Love the K6S and I put the CT grips on mine, which still don't have backstrap protection, but are a wood/rubber hybrid and a little fatter than the non laser stock CT grips. The extra width gives a little more to hold onto when the gun recoils and minimizes the friction on the webbing of the hand. I've actually requested Hogue offer the rubber grip with a laser and they responded that it's under consideration, so we'll see.
@jujin I'm testing out a iwb leather holster. The holster company is Azula Gun Holsters which I purchased from Amazon. The back sweat guard piece protect your skin from the hammer spur. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciated!
Colt doesn't know how to make a quality firearm anymore. They've been attempting to ride the coattails of their old reputation since they started making revolvers again. It's NOT working. Over the years they've made a number of extremely bad business decisions. They still haven't recovered because they just want to play their potential customers. I won't be one of them anytime soon.
@David Branscome A couple of people I know sent there Colt Pythons back due to machining or something with the cylinder. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
I think colt has officially been bought out by another company now. Don't waste your money on the name anymore. They stopped making quality pieces even before that.
This is a nice pistol but it's a bit overpriced in my opinion. It's a 357 magnum but I don't shoot 357 magnum in a 2 inch revolver because of the recoil and muzzle blast, but it's an option if you need to. Shooting 38 special and 38 special plus P all day is a pleasure for it's weight of 23 ounces which is way better than those S&W air weight snubbys that only weigh 15 ounces. I have a Taurus 605 stainless 357 2 inch five shot and it's a pleasure because it's 24 ounces. But again 357 in a 2 inch is no fun or comfortable unless you can handle it.
@wooddawg4868 Kimber did over priced this revolver, but it has a great smooth action. Check out my other range video. A friend and I shot 6, 357s snubbed nose revolvers with 357 rounds just to be crazy. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
You do know this (DASA) is not the name of the model it simply means double action sing election you do know that right I wouldn’t want somebody going to a gun store looking for this revolver based on what you called it I’m just saying 🤦
@kilo ward I'm well aware of that! LOL I work in a gunshop and yes people say it as a model just like you said lol. @Kyle Wood I think the cylinder was made to shave bulk but kept 6 shot capability etc which I think is interesting. In it's snubb size I like the looks. However, I think the "full size" counterparts are "ugly". Something off about the looks for me. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
