  • Through sheer numbers and martials this corporation thought they could make Rubicon 3 theirs. Yet it seem the all brawn and no brain approach would only leave this corporation at the table with nothing left.

      Michigan also made some horrible decisions, which might be tied to the death of G2 Nile, apparently Nile was the brain of the operations and he died trying to stop the RLF prison break, afterwards Michigan just kept doing oopsie after oopsie
      -Allowed Arquebus to take uncontested control over the PCA assets which even the RLF saw coming from miles away
      -Failed to take the wall which lost him G4 volta and made G5 Iguazu desert
      -Tried to take the wall AGAIN from the PCA when the focus of the war was clearly on the other continent

    I am deathy amused and pleased by how much Balam is engineered to resemble Crest products from Armored Core 3. The only thing missing are the signature chest barrels. I desperately pray that if we get a DLC that we get a full set of Balam lightweight parts and it resembles Crest lightweight AC's and another dedicated full Balam heavyweight set. That would just be glorious. While Arquebus technically has a lightweight in their subsidiary I'd love for them to get their own dedicated ultra-light gear that resembles Mirage's light weights.

    In regards to the oddness of G6 Red saying that “The Group has committed to using force against the Rubicon Liberation Front.” I think I have an explanation for the choice of words used here.
    In the first Balam issued mission, destroying the BAWS artillery in the Contaminated City, they are merely attacking the RLF for being in the way as you said, were the RLF to leave the city vacant Balam would not have pursued further hostilities.
    So when G6 Red says that they will now be using military force, it probably means that the Balam executives have decided to hurt the RLF regardless of them occupying positions that hinder the Coral survey. This is reflected in the second mission in which you are ordered to destroy the transport helicopters in order to hinder their supply lines.

    Its clearly stated that in jupiter war Balam industries is at war with Furlong dynamics not arquebus. Michigan was also mentioned to be former furlong fleet commander before he join balam and create redgun squad. So when the war is over furlong become specialist in missiles (state in thier FCS) and balam improve thier fcs missiles assist.

  • @broomhatter3877
    @broomhatter3877 11 месяцев назад +20

    If we look at G2 Niles description in the arena it says that "Michigan was the commander of the rival Furlong Armed Fleet" note how it uses rival suggesting that Balam and Furlong were on opposite sides of the Jupiter War especially with the included context that Michigan also had warrant for his arrest from Balams side. From G6 description in the arena we can see that Furlong was a rather big player in the Jupiter War unlike on Rubicon 3 where they do not have a military presence on the planet, So from this it appears that Balam lost the Jupiter war and Furlong won it.
    Just a reminder that well Balam and Arquebus are the main corporations fighting each other on Rubicon 3 that doesn't mean that they are also fighting each other everywhere else, there are after all other corporations that aren't apart of Arquebus or Balam. Also because Arquebus isn't mentioned of having been apart of the Jupiter War it is more likely they were either not apart of it at all or took on a background role where they instead provided minor assistance to whoever they wanted to win the Jupiter War rather than what you suggested of the Jupiter War being Balam versus Arquebus again.

    • @broomhatter3877
      @broomhatter3877 11 месяцев назад +4

      Losers don't get called heroes we know that Michigan had many victories as a commander for Furlong and if Furlong still lost the war despite Michigan's successes than all of Michigan's effort would have amounted to nothing and as such there would be no reason to call him a hero.
      Furlong is described as being a sly corporation by the independent mercenaries and we can see this with them supporting both Balam and the RLF in the fight over Rubicon 3 this lack of their own military presence doesn't suggest that they are weakened, they are just going about fighting Arquebus in a non-confrontational way. If anything Balam is the weakened corporation as they are technologically behind and as G3 Wu Huahai says Balam was a sinking ship.

    My thought is that the Jupiter War was between Furlong and Balam, with Balam ultimately being the victor. Nile led the forces of Balam, while Michigan led Furlong's. Balam was impressed with Furlong's missile technology, and so chose to absorb Furlong as a subsidiary rather than crush them completely. Later, the death of Michigan at the hands of an Arquebus hire, and Michigan's "bounty" subsequently being awarded to Furlong, may have allowed Furlong to support the RLF through Elcano, which led to their contributions in the construction of Steel Haze Ortus.

    I assumed it was Michigan but he goes by the names Liger Tail, Hell on four legs and the spoken commander Michigan from his soldiers. I'm having a hard time understanding your question.
      The hero of jupiter is in fact G1 Michigan based on the collective informations of the other redgun members.
      they all seem to have criminal records aside from G6 Red, who was an aspired member to be a redgun after he looked up Michigan and his triumphs' on jupiter.
      it goes like this:
      Iguazu gambled and bet alot of money, but he lost was forced to undergo augmentation surgery (Which can only be done through the connections of the corporations) and Balem was a nearby option. here in his new life he met Volta and had Quarrels with him on a Dailey basis (suggested it was somewhat friendly, or brotherly) but this behavior eventually got them more aggressive, cocky, and unrestrained, this is probably due to the members of Balem at HQ treating them like dung and looked down on as a result of the surgical process that made them stand out as freaks or monsters in human skin. (as a result of the side affects) and this made Iguazu and Volta more rebellious that it attracted the famous G1 Michigan, and had to beat the living daylights out of them into submission to quell the dilemma that Balem had to put up with, thus taking in the two as official members of the redguns, this was either done out of pity or respect for the two for at least trying to survive,
      Volta remarks this as his last words moments before he was killed by the RLF Juggernaut: "Iguazu, im telling you man, you gotta give michigan a chance, he's different from the suits at HQ. Look i know hes an asshole, but hes looking out for us you know? almost like we got a family here. heh. man if there's anyone who deserves punching out, its the freaks who sent us on this suicide mission, you picked a good day to go AWOL....Wish I-"

    I believe Walter may have served in the Jupiter war as an AC pilot. Possibly under Balam or Furlong.
    Professor Nagai had him sent off to the Jupiter colonies as a child, so he would have been there, assuming it happened after the Fires of Ibis. And he seems very friendly with Michigan, who we know fought in the Jupiter Wars. And when we kill Michigan, Walter seems somewhat sentimental. Hes not immediately upset, but he bothers to mention that "Michigan knew the score". As if he knew Michigan well.
    We also know that Walter is a capable AC pilot, as Allmind says as much before killing him. So he has experience in an AC.

    • @armoredcorelore
      @armoredcorelore  5 месяцев назад +1

      Possible again the issue we face is that the Jupiter war is never really talked about a lot. We know at the time G6 was young at the time and by the time he grew up Michigan was already the red guns leader. Walters past is always very much here a little bit and that's its. The man had made a lot of connections, made enough money to keep buying dogs and even pay off debt. So the search for an answer goes on.

  • @CastIronNest

    Do we know yet what Ayre meant during one of the chapter 4 briefings (depth 2 I think) that Balam's goal down there isn't the same as Arquebus'? There's something I still don't get about Balam and their overall strategy on Rubicon and I'm not willing to pin it on Michigan just making bad decisions. Walter calls Nile the brains and Michigan the brawn, but If G1 were a fool he wouldn't be noted in Nile's arena description as the only man Nile never "brought to justice."
    Michigan is under no illusions that he's made strategic compromises in order to do Walter some personal favors. One of the only things Iguazu and Volta say in the dam mission that Michigan doesn't give them shit for is at the very beginning, when they're complaining about babysitting their mercenary tagalong. Iguazu unknowingly calls Michigan dumb right to his face and gets no quips or insults in return.
    Why were Walter and Michigan trying to get Balam in charge of taking the Ice Worm out, and willing to sacrifice the PCA's heavy warship fleet for an outcome Walter describes as "better then nothing" in their conversation? It doesn't seem to be an Overseer thing in service to getting 621 in first, because Balam's remaining forces immediately rush the place with no discernable exit strategy.
    Also what the hell happened in the Contaminated City right before we landed? A couple no name independent mercs, G7 Hakra, a lot of PCA wrecks and the still sparking remains of Nightfall in a crater? Is this the aftermath of the Station 31 attack or some other operation Raven was involved in, and how exactly were the Redguns involved?
    There are a lot of things in this game that aren't explicit or aren't given direct answers, but nothing has me puzzled quite like Balam.

    • @armoredcorelore
      @armoredcorelore  11 месяцев назад +4

      All ready good lore questions which i could give personal thoughts on but nothing solid lore wise with what the game offers. As for what Ayre meant, its a guess on my part however i believed she was able to hack into Balam reports that seem to suggest the group is also out for 621. I presume balam knew thier rival would send 621 in and are laying the blame of thier downfall on the mercenary after all the mts call 621 traitor when they see merc.
      I personally think g1 was very much under pressure from the heads of balam, they wanted results and he was the only commander around. I would agree he is not stupid, but rather heavy handed as his bio states perhaps his counter to this was g2. The man perhaps knew more about the inner working of the red guns and had been the commander of the police organization before it became the redguns and was more calm.
      As for the other two i am guessing Walter saw the worm was his way into where the Corel was, he needed to be there in case the worm showed them the way which it did in the end. However why the need for the redguns to be in charge? I think this is because Walter felt he can work his friend Michigan better, there seems to be no distrust between them so it was easier for walter to get his own way unlike Arquebus which most likely did not want walter nor 621 near the attack and had no trust in the redguns.
      As for the contaminated city battle its very much in the air to be honest. To me maybe what we're seeing is a battle which g7 was leading a force to attack the city only for the front to have hired thier own mercenaries and as they battled the pca showed up to put a stop to the fighting. This is when suddenly raven shows up either because branch wanted something here or he was the back-up merc the front had. All personal thoughts mind, but maybe we'll get answers one day.

      From what we can put together from g6 bio it states his life was forever changed seeing the newsboard casts of the brutal trumpets of Commander Michigan in the Jupiter war. A war we know g1 fought in thanks to his title the hero of the Jupiter war, this is then back up by g2 bio which states the only person he was not able to put in handcuff while part of the paramilitary police of balam was G1 who was the commander of the furlong fleet and noted to be g2 rival.
      Its with this that in g1 profile that he state as the commander of the furlong armed fleet he took up the role as the redgun commander after this. Although it does not state why or when this happened.
      However what backs this up is that he posted a bounty on balam bounty board with the stipulation that half of the reward money is to be distributed to his former comrades at furlong.
      It all this that points to the war being between furlong and Balam however i don't think furlong won. In fact i would say that the war ended in either a deal between the corps or balam won the war and Michigan switched side seeing he could help his former comrades who at this point maybe struggling to find new job or injuries from the war between the pair. After all you can still be known as a hero even on the losing side.
