The transparency of Lionel is one of the best things of his videos...I enjoy listening about highs and lows and overcoming challenges...Let's go LIONEL!!!
I don’t know about anyone else but all it takes is to watch a Lionel video and I’m immediately motivated to exercise let alone an iron man. Congratulations mate!
That swim was total chaos when I was swimming. The hardest part of the storm hit while I was on the back end of the swim. First time I was ever legit concerned for my well being. People everywhere calling out for help. Hardest 70.3 I'd ever done. "Survived" is a good way to put it.
Lionel. Love your comments etc but I have to do props to Talbot. Not just in this, but the trust and the authenticity on your conversation. It takes two to make magic. Keep it real boys!
I was in the group that never made it in the water...they cancelled the swim for a bunch of us after a few people got blown off course. Then gave us the opportunity to bike-run after 2h of standing around....it was gnarly
Congrats! Great to see you on top again! I only hope you are as wise as your words. You can absolutely be the very best, if you "listen to your body". Recovery! Recovery! Recovery!
Watching the race was awesome. I’ve been home after foot surgery and haven’t been able to train but watching these pro series performances as so inspiring. Lionel is right about the bike; they all kept taking turns. Crazy to see them dropping hammers on the bike to ill effect. Super epic race. My favorite 70.3 I’ve seen yet.
I've done two fulls in 50°F and rain all day. It really sucks when the weather doesn't cooperate but that's when you dig down mentally and get it done. I'm glad you were able to still put in a huge effort and get the win. See you in Placid!
The look on your face when you crossed the finish line was actually haunting. So happy you didn't come on here with horrible news about your injury! Those conditions sucked and you still fought from end to end, that's the grit of a champion! Levi gives you wings! 🕊️
I did a half ironman back in 2009 in Tawas Michigan as the remnants of Hurricane Ike came through. The lead Moto couldn't see through his visor and actually followed me 😃. I gratefully won that race and then went straight to the local Walmart to dry off.
Great job Lionel!!! Love that you are still learning from every race...tucking away the experience to draw upon when you need it next!! And thanks Talbot for doing the vid this way - much more of a conversation between the two of you! Great job!!
Awesome result and a great insight into to it all, build up, nutrition and just the mental state for us all to learn from. Talbot, great work in these vids, entertaining and motivation for us all. Lionel, buzzing to see you back in Kona ! But steady on the strckr. Let's go
Lionel what a freaking performance! Talk about loving the new drive of just doing it. Make it hurt even more and damn the data. That’s your ticket to the W. Talbot, what a great interview. Hands down the best one to date.
Its not hurting enough! I feel you. Was behind a group of peloton riders in this weekends 70.3 even mee keeping 12m distance I was doing 20watts less for the same pace. So dug in and past the whole group.
Congratulations ! Of course Outside+ cut to a commercial a minute before you crossed the finish line so for those of us watching from our dry, warm sofa - we missed you winning.
Brilliant content, congratulations Lionel on a fantastic victory. As an offer, I’d say in order to win the 70.3 World Championships you would be better to run without socks. Talk to Sam maybe to see how he managed that change. Best wishes for Lake Placid 🤞
WOOHOOOO LS!! And yes, I checked my phone a couple of times during church for updates...but I did promise to pray, so it was legit. 😁🙏 So looking forward to your IMLP build and hope to see you there--We're volunteering! God bless your fam & this journey, Megan 💪🙏 ps. nice to see you in the vid, Talbot!
I actually had the same thought about maybe hoping for a flat lol. Knowing people flat more in the rain, I had an extra tube and CO2 in transition. I didn't take it on the bike, thinking, "If I flat, then I'll just be done" lol That was a tough, tough day.
IMHO everyone hates the poor weather meaning it provides an opportunity to get an edge over your competitors. Accept that which you don’t control. I think that would of been Ben K’s attitude.
😂😂😂 Felt targeted by lionel I was at the race in the morning excited about the opportunity to rain. Not my best performance, but never had that much fun in a 70.3
Speechless. Lionel you made it. YOU STARTED WINNING again with a child, a coach, a wife. You’re living the best life any human can live
No he’s not. He is incredibly racist

as an age group finisher who survived that course, I'm so happy to hear that those conditions were hard for the pros too!
Ditto, it was my first triathlon ever and it was so hard mentally to keep going many times!

Agreed! I was there too around then, some of the kayaks were tipping over that were there to aid swimmers
LET'S FUCKING GO LIONEL YOOOOOOOO 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 SLAM DUNK THAT FINISHING TAPE ON THE GROUND 🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍

He swims my running week haha
Love this content. Kudos on a tough day. Of course not one mention of Talbot for toughing it out in the same weather. lol
Our great, inspiring and much more matured Lionel with a perfect race win!
Great video, and another inspiring race. Thanks for the continued motivation!
Always wishing you well, Lionel. Happy to see you accomplish so much. 😊
It was really great to see Lionel the bike animal again. Simply great, it was great fun to watch!
Congrats! Great to see you on top again! I only hope you are as wise as your words. You can absolutely be the very best, if you "listen to your body". Recovery! Recovery! Recovery!
R E S P E C T for sticking in and pushing yourself to victory
As always, the best entertainment in Triathlon. Thank you for sharing.
Congratulations, Lionel. Can't wait to watch your Ironman build!

Good luck at Lake Placid. Thanks for keeping it real. Love to listen to you speak.
Congrats bro!
I really love these post-race sit down chats
Thanks for the little talk! Great race in horrible conditions. All the best for the next steps!👋
Congratulations Lionel.. much deserved result 👏👏 keep it coming Kona here ya come!!
You come to my hometown Frankfurt?!?!?! Ok, challenge accepted - I will cheer you to the Kona spot - no worries.
Great meeting and chatting with you this weekend Lionel! Congrats on the win

Congrats man, watching from Brazil. Great!!

So weird! I’m from Michigan. I did that triathlon. The swells from Lake Huron were crazy. That was a miserable race!
Great job Lionel!!! Love that you are still learning from every race...tucking away the experience to draw upon when you need it next!! And thanks Talbot for doing the vid this way - much more of a conversation between the two of you! Great job!!

Congratulations, what a journey, thanks for all the insight, prayers for continued health and success!!
Grande Lionel!!! You are back!!! Amazing race!!!
Loved the couch sit down! Nice chat.
Congrats brother! lol, look at them smooth legs! You did incredible, it was exciting to watch, seemed like a crazy race with those conditions.
Lionel what a freaking performance! Talk about loving the new drive of just doing it. Make it hurt even more and damn the data. That’s your ticket to the W. Talbot, what a great interview. Hands down the best one to date.
“It’s a privilege to do this.” Love Lionel, love triathlon! No Limits!!
i like your thinking strategy and the way you reason everything... well done and im feeling more to come this season...!!!
Its not hurting enough! I feel you. Was behind a group of peloton riders in this weekends 70.3 even mee keeping 12m distance I was doing 20watts less for the same pace. So dug in and past the whole group.
Congrats on the win.
You're a legend Lionel 🔥
Congrats
I’m just happy for you brother @lionel!!! keep going, you’re fucking killing it!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Congratulations ! Of course Outside+ cut to a commercial a minute before you crossed the finish line so for those of us watching from our dry, warm sofa - we missed you winning.

Whatever you're doing with your run keep it up. Best I've seen from you biomechanically.
Can’t wait to see you at IMLP!!!

I wanted to go to see you and take pictures but didn't because of the weather!! Congrats on the win!!!
Love it absolute legend! 🔥And another great vid team 👏
Talbot & Lionel, lets make #BattleOfOntario2025 a reality in IMO. Cody, Jackson, Jessey & Lionel!!!
I'm saying it now - Lionel Sanders Ironman World Champion and Series winner
I’m a grown man and this is probably really sad… But that would bring a tear to my eye for sure
Love this. I feel the same. If it happens, I'll be coming back here to deliver your due kudos! 🎉
I'll give it 1% probability, but I'd be stoked if he were to win the World champs (or Pro series for that matter)
Epic freaking day! a day to remember that is for sure! I enjoyed the rain haha
No limits Lionel, rest up big man.
I'll be racing in Lake placid. I hope I get to see you kick ass 💪💪💪.
Remember these special moments in the future brother
Congrats mate 💪
LIONEL FTWWWWWW
Bravo Lionel...je suis un superman de 66 ans...je te suis depuis longtemps
Loved in the medal ceremony you all were like "Do we douse each other in beer? F$@k that, we've been soaking we all day, so hard pass."
Really appreciate the no fake real deal conversation “I don’t care about the fastest anything”. That’s so much the spirit of triathlon.
the peoples champ no doubt!
Congrats 👏🏾👊🏾🦁 outstanding race!!!
2016 full it Tremblant the conditions were almost the same. I froze and the bike crashes down Duplessis were terrible.
Such an awesome performance 👏🙌😎
Yes, yes, yes!!!!!!
Congrats!
Outstanding!!!!

Solid race digging in especially with those conditions! It's too bad the wind tunnel testing didn't get fully realized in the rain though 😂
We were there at the event. Our son also finished the 70.3
"If it doesn't hurt, make it hurt more. There's nothing more to think about.'
Talbot saying "MEEH" @22'38 absolutely destroyed me
@Talbot: it would be cool if the fans could send you questions before these breakdowns!
Transcending!! You are! 😊
You're an absolute ANIMAL.
Love it
The king is back, smoothest legs in the game - is Kona ready though?!
So epic! What a stud!!! LETS GOOOOO!!!!
There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He's ordinary 🎸🚲
“If it hurts..good. Make it hurt more.”
congrats!
"The rain gives the plants the nutrition that they need to grow."
Legendary 😂
What software are you using for running and cycling training? Apps like Zwift for example. Thanks!
See you in Lake Placid!!
IMHO everyone hates the poor weather meaning it provides an opportunity to get an edge over your competitors. Accept that which you don’t control. I think that would of been Ben K’s attitude.
The Lion is as honest as a mug😂 he's so fing awesome
Give this man a raise.
😂😂😂 Felt targeted by lionel
I was at the race in the morning excited about the opportunity to rain. Not my best performance, but never had that much fun in a 70.3
Heeeeeellll yeah Lionel !!!!!
Awesome 👏
That BTA mount seems very neat. Did Canyon custom made it for you?
Congrats. Would have been nice if Outside actually showed the finish!! FFS
Saying this is in caps ... NOW ITS WORKING, CHANGE NOTHING !!!
Have you done Frankfurt before?
Anyway, I just throw some Frodo-is-the-new-secret-coach gossip into the mix.
It's not secret. It's been announced on many podcasts
First erver Ironman were you had to swim the whole time
inspiration
For the algorithm!
YESSS but where are calf sleeves
Super Sanders!!!
Awesome
Well done mate!
