@@OtakuBuilder thanks! I'm really looking forward into building mine. Is it worth it to have a air brush? I used to build before but never painted or weather it.
Thanks! I got one shipped already. I can't wait. So if I do paint the inner frame with lets say silver~gray do I still need to top coat it? (or if any painted parts in that matter.) or should I just get like the one you used for the stickers?
not sure how to explain this but maybe someone else also has the same questions. in the process of painting everything, you had to cut everything from thre runners . to prep everything for paint. And as we can see that is alof of pieces. How do you organize it all to make sure you can actually build the kit as you no longer have the numbering scheme after cutting.
Hello sir, really love your build video, assembly without timelaps is satisfying... Love your video especially the zoids one, cause zoids are rare in Indonesia nowadays
"Dymo tape for panel lining" I spend the better part of an day searching for the correct dymo tape.... Only to now see it on cam. For future reference, it's the press trough dymo tape, for the hand operated machines, not the digital ones. "Reliëf tape" is sometimes used in the description (at least in The Netherlands).
I've watched this (and your part-2 ) a couple of times now and it's getting me so excited to build and paint my own! I too will be trying out scribing as i work on this kit. Curious if you've done any vids on your adventures with scribing? Love your vids, they are super fun to watch!
Max Kordon oh absolutely dude. Best place to get the filter for those on Amazon. In couple weeks I got to buy a new spray booth again because if you don't put any kind of paper towel on the spray booth area it will degrade and warp the plastic overtime.
They are actually not. Over time the paint will actually melt the plastic and cause a nasty curve to it. Trust me I learned the hard way LOL. Best way to avoid that is to put a paper towel over the surface in your good.
More work, mostly due to the awesomely detailed inner frames. That's the thing I miss most about older PGs, the inner frames were so cool, along with the open hatch gimmicks. The Exia also had the gimmick, but the inner frames was missing the attention it deserved.
NPC Fuzziboi6 however, the Exia is still the better kit. While it only having two sets of pistons is disappointing, since those are my favorite things to paint, the build quality, balance, and accessories make it a nicer kit overall
Otaku Builder thanks! Is that something you would do after the weathering? Or before? Mainly wondering how far disassembled the pieces are when you put on a clear coat. Just as separate arms and legs etc as they are when you are weathering, or earlier when you still are painting each individual piece of plastic/armor or whatever before you’ve put them together into a limb? Thanks again. These videos are great!
Otaku Builder i see. Thanks for the response. I’m a little new to model building and I’m thinking of buying this kit as my first repainted build. So after I cut the part from the runner, I’ll go straight to painting them?
It really depends on the kind of paint application using. If it's acrylic paint you shouldn't have any issues with the paint being sticky or grimy. Now if you're working with enamel paint then that's where things get a bit tricky. Because that kind of paint requires you to work in a warm environment for it to dry evenly.
Kingredcat Thanks you do for liking the video. As for your question in regards to the TS 74 spray paint? Tamiya does manufacture that color but it's like a bright pink not a flat red. The one I'm using the video is the TS 86.
I might trigger gundam people but I don't paint my Gundams (please don't hate me) Edit: but I might just paint this kit when I get it. looks worth my time
i really like your videos man, been watching for a long time. But you dont need 5 cans of primer thats ridiculous, priming tiny parts is a waste, i recomment you assemble a few together then prime that and maybe take it apart for shadow lining, i built this kit with just over 1 big can of primer
Came back to remember how the original pg rx-78-2 held up now. Can't wait for the unleashed.
I will follow your build.. i think your build/paint is the one i'm going for.
And is there any other ways to "weather" the parts without airbrush? thanks
Chris M. Yes there Is. Tamiya and makes a product called "Tamiya weatherine master" . Amazon has them In stock.

Great build! Did you have to thin the Tamiya X-33 bronze paint? 🙏
Beautiful build! Did you topcoat the inner frame at all after painting? 😊

I'm guessing you label your holding clamps with numbers/colors

Thank you dude. Hopefully more Zoid videos are coming later on this year. I just haven't decided on them which one I should focus on next.
@@OtakuBuilder can't wait man, simply subscribe you for now on
Awesome build! How did you make sure the paint doesn’t chip when you bend the joints?
now look i am going to earn about 200 bucks because of this video
i want o make this amaziong build
i love gundam
Do you know how to build gundam

I had ordered online waiting for stock. But can I just assemble the whole thing without any painting?
this is awesome bro. its gonna be my next kit afterwards since i already managed to secure sd,hg,rg,mg, and mega RX78-2.
do you mean 40th anniversary?
It would have been great to see how you put two pieces together with putty and sanding to make it smooth and remove the seams before painting.

I haven't really considered It. Everyone asking me to do a video tutorial L.E.D installation 😞
hey I have the same spray booth! have you ever had to replace the filters in yours? I'm considering trying to do that
Max Kordon oh absolutely dude. Best place to get the filter for those on Amazon. In couple weeks I got to buy a new spray booth again because if you don't put any kind of paper towel on the spray booth area it will degrade and warp the plastic overtime.
Those spray cans safe for the spray booth? I’m wondering cuz I’m thinking of doing this too

Otaku Builder ok, maybe I’ll just do the cut out the parts and prime them and paint them outside 😂
Older PGs definitely require more work than newer PGs.
But the RG and the MG 3.0/Origin version of the RX-78-2 is better in lot of aspects.

After painting these did you put a clear top coat on individual pieces before assembling or just at the end after it was all assembled?
Yes I did spray clear coat on every single piece.

Hello. Do you assemble the whole model first to see what parts belong together before painting them?
No. As shown on the video I paint each individual parts.
Otaku Builder i see. Thanks for the response. I’m a little new to model building and I’m thinking of buying this kit as my first repainted build. So after I cut the part from the runner, I’ll go straight to painting them?

Now if you're working with enamel paint then that's where things get a bit tricky. Because that kind of paint requires you to work in a warm environment for it to dry evenly.
Is there a reason you use tamiya spray cans over bottled paint and primer?
How did you do the shading on the yellow parts?
Thats so clean!
Great work and enjoyed the music too. The red Tamiya spray was that clear red TS-74?

will the tamiya acrylic work without primer?
Yes. However over time the paint will chip and degrade.
@@OtakuBuilder the one that you're mentioning is the one for the brush right?
Nice paint how big that gundam
Around 18 cm (7 1/2 inches) tall.

anyone know the name of the song that starts at 7:50?
DISASTERFOX2 ES "So Easy" by Andrea's Ericson. However I don't think you'll be able to find it on RUclips.
Thank you I just want to know that song. sounds like something from streets of rage
