Na Isiah gotta be 4 hands down. No way I’m putting Russel and especially not Stockton over Isiah.
Isiah just didn't play like a pur point guard and his shooting guard wasn't really a shooter, so he was shooting more then everyone on his team. He's great he's one of my favorites but as a point guard people don't point him out because of his play style he wasn't pass first. Saying all that if you have curry at 1 isiah needs to be top 3, his defense ans shot makiny was crazy

THE FACT that Zeke wasnt in the top five is CRIMINAL!!! The Mt Rushmore of GOAT PGs is Magic, Steph, Oscar, and Zeke! If you took a worldwide poll of people who are STUDENTS of the game, that would be the most common GOAT PG Mt. Rushmore you would see. Keep in mind Zeke finished his career with 19 PPG and 9APG. The only PGs to have that combo or higher is Magic and Oscar!!
From there he had over 18882 points and 9061 dimes when he retired at the age of 32 due to the injuries! He retired young as hell and put up that type of production. Keep in mind guys like Kidd, Nash, and Stock played until they were 39-40 years old. Magic, Steph, Zeke, and Oscar should be LOCKS in the top five GOAT PGs.
The five to ten spots can be mixed numerous ways with legends like Stock, Kidd, CP3, Russ, Cousy, Payton, Nash, Frazier, and Tiny vying for those spots.
Don't throw Tiny in there like he belongs 😂

Changed the game COMPLETELY including its while analytics. Best ever sequence in Olympics basketball, did it in the final game against the strong home country team. Best Shooter ever, Top 5 greatest scorers, top 5 best ball handler ever. Being more guarded in playoffs than KD 2017 and 2018. Beat prime LeBron 3 times in the finals and a LOADED Celtics team. Only unanimous MVP; 73-9 season + final lost at the end of game 7
2. Magic - 5 chips, one of his finals MVP as a rookie; beat The Bird in the finals. Saved the NBA with Bird. Clutch. Best ever passer, that's the classic way - finding teammates open. And the SMILE. He deserved his nickname every bit: MAGIC !!! The edge goes to Curry because of Magic's team (that he did not build; he did not dramatically improve those players either. He had a LOADED team)
3. Isiah Thomas - 2 chips of 3 finals, 2 FMVP, Grrreat scorer, grrreat passer, top 5 ball handler, TOUGH. Beat prime Magic (finals) and prime Celtics in playoffs. Best player on the Bad boys pistons, one of the best teams of 2nd half of the 80s, beginning of the 90s
5. Big O - 1 chip, triple double half/God and first to average it over a season. Physical FREAK !!! Great passer and rebounder, good scorer.
4. John Stockton - Grrreat passer, great steal-er (thief), 2 finals appearances where they REALLY competed with the GOAT MJ, one of the Stockalone who made Utah one of the best teams of the 90s. Really tied between Big O and Stockton, but rethinking it I do give the edge to Stockton as GOAT MJ was their opponent in the finals

Curry single handedly changed a small franchise to a billionaire, forever changed the game so that bad shooters can not get in the starting lineup and eventually retire. Imagine Curry playing with Kareem, and swap Magic Johnson in to playing for the Warriors. Can Magic win 4 times in this era like Curry? Can Magic carry the team in 2022 against the Boston Celtics like Curry? Curry alongside Kareem would be a unstoppable duo, they would be winning everything.
Stockton also has the record for most seasons playing all 82 games.

Westbrook over Chris Paul? Oscar Robertson over Isiah Thomas? Come on Perk? Do you ever get anything right. Steph is the most influential basketball player since MJ. He is my favorite player and the Warriors are my favorite team since the Chicago Bulls, but even with all that, I think he needs one more chip to say he has surpassed Magic as the GOAT PG.
I think a lot of players from the past eras are discounted due to having shorter careers than the players of today; however, the shortened careers were a reflection of the violent physical play that is not present today. Players today would wilt under the heat of the past violence of yesterday.

I can easily make the case that Zeke is the best pure PG (the Cousy model PG) of all time. By that I mean Magic and Oscar were huge PGs who could play many positions. And Steph is a score first PG. If he was 6’5 or 6’6 he would have been slotted as a SG.
Isiah took the Cousy model of PG to the ultimate level. Isiah was a pure pass first PG who could also dominate scoring. And young Isiah was also a top notch athlete. If u took Stockton’s floor generalship and mixed it with the ability to dominate games scoring with flair, athletic ability, and toughness like Iverson, peak Isiah was THE GUY to exemplify that mix! As great as CP3 is, Isiah it seemed had a higher gear he could go to dominate games scoring.
Magic 1, Steph 2, Zeke 3, Big O 4, Kidd/Stockton 5. Zeke was more clutch than all these points though, only rival was magic when it came to clutchness and being able truly to take over a game passing or scoring. 💯
