Hi mate, you will be a hot plate to melt the solder under the LED itself. You can buy them on aliexpress or ebay for maybe 20-50 bucks. I need to get one myself. Some examples: www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-electronic-hot-plate.html Careful when ordering from there, check reviews, maybe research first.
Haven't had that issue yet but I'm guessing you're talking about those red/black wires. You'd need to find a similar gauge (maybe 22AWG), desolder the old ones, and add the new. Will make video later if I need to do this.
It's a little tricky but satisfying once done. Remember to heat the area you're soldering first before applying solder. It flows automatically to those heated areas
That was a nice how-to lesson. Thanks Darren!
Cheers Gus, thought I'd switch the camera on while doing this swap :D
Awesome... Any idea how to mount an led to a copper board?

Great tutorial 👍. Can you make video about replacing damaged wires in convoy drivers?

dope tutorial my G
Thanks bro, will definately make more of these later :) maybe how to install a tactical switch onto a convoy light
Yay first comment! Nice video Darren! Taught me a lot.
Thanks mate, not my usual type of video but thought I'd turn the camera on doing this swap. The actual video was maybe 30 mins total 😀
I have a few flashlights i plan to mod. Im a beginner though. Never have done any soldering yet

Hi video uploader,
I bought a 18650 flashlight frm AliExpress, gets kinda hot within short time. How can I solve it or it change anything??? Thnx
Probably not. Most lights get hot after sustained runtimes on higher modes. You can try lowering to medium or low mode.
I wonder how to get 3 SFT40 for Convoy S12?
and strong driver
Not sure. I wonder if you could remove/swap the actual LEDs from the MCPCB. Also unsure how many amps the S12 driver is supplying to each LED.
@@DarrenYeoYT I'm not sure, you're right, I don't know.
I want to make models that don't exist.
thank you
Why did you put a different driver in the S21G?
The original version of this light came with an 8A driver, but now ships with the 6A. The 8A runs too hot for my liking.
@@DarrenYeoYT Yeah the S21G I just ordered with SFT40 3000k said 6A. Makes sense you would want the cooler option.
