I love your vids ie down to earth show it as it is mistakes and all i'm still learning etc 🙂 as we all are i don't care how old you are keep em coming mate it's much appreciated😏 The only bad bit as i have probably mentioned many many times before 🙄 is i miss my X90 and must get another 🤥
I'm down to Earth like most other Yorkshire folk. I try to keep it real so I'm glad you've noticed. You never stop learning. There's plenty of XC90s out there so go for it.
many years later....had to remove motor (twice) as something in the whole CCM setup isn't working - no fan. Been working my way through fuses, CCM, fan, fan controller resistor, air quality sensor...one thing to note is I have found it is possible to replace the air sensor when you have the fan out. This is worth doing because you should really use a wiper arm puller to remove the wiper arms to get to the sensor from above. If only changing the sensor, sure, this is way less hassle than removing the fan motor. Hella make an air quality sensor for at least half the Volvo stamped one. IMO it is worth replacing this sensor when fan is out because it sometimes messes with the CCM logic. Also replace the CCM bulbs while out, and CAREFULLY clean the cabin air temperature sensor and fan - do not break the wire. If you do, it is possible to obtain correct wire and solder a new one in (search RUclips), but avoid snapping in first place! I did resolder all the fan speed joints on the rear too. They will dry/break, so you might as well do that too while the whole dash is out!
There is another CCM that fits (a VW part which could be the same as the Hella one) but it can cause problems as it must be different internally so a Volvo part must be used. They're expensive brand new so I went for a genuine used one on eBay.
It literally "sniffs" the air that comes in to the HVAC system and it closes a flap to stop any bad smells from entering the interior. It is situated above the blower motor.

Thank you for another xc90 video. How does air quality sensor manifest itself when it malfunctions? Did it affect climate control somehow? Thank you

Do you reckon my S60 has one of these
It probably does. The S60 is a P2 platform car like the XC90
Is the location same for a P3 2010 S80?
I haven't a clue. This generation of XC90 is the P2 platform.
Is that s triumph 2000 dude
