You have the best Sea of Thieves videos and I enjoy them all. One trick I like when soloing is I do 25% in the row boat, 25% in the barrels, and 25% of my supplies in the "supply crate". I hide the ammo and supply in the bushes next to the ship. I also put everything on the beach and use the harpoon to bring it all up. You covered it all Pixel, thanks!
I was so excited to play this, and then massively disappointed once I joined a random crew and saw how chaotic and unproductive it was. Trying solo for the first time was amazing. It's everything I wanted out of this game.
Before my wife joined me on the game I was always solo on a brig didn't have too much trouble some sloops stayed away from me thinking it was a 3 man crew and friendly crews I encountered were always surprised or didn't believe I was alone at first but I would recommend the brig only once you're used to everything as it's a good middle ground ship more durable than a sloop and sometimes a good deterrent for less experienced sloops. Awesome video pixel always enjoy your content keep up the great work
“The sea of thieves is a great community for beginners” I started playing when I first got my Xbox this Christmas so I’m not very new but I recently had a few encounters with very nice people one of them helped me on my voyage and the others formed an alliance with me and another crew before that though I would get attacked by any ship that came near me,I recently learned that if you point your cannons up it is a sign of peace so I have been doing that when I start my sloops
“The sea of thieves community is very welcoming to new players” ohhh, is only this we’re true. I was literally killed on the island my very first time before even getting on my ship. Some dude just walked up and started killing me. No warning. No speaking. No interaction beyond killing me instantly. And that is by far the most common interaction, unfortunately
It's OUTSIDE the game. On Discord, in the official forum and even the Xbox club. They answer questions (= wiki link) and you can find players to team up with. INGAME, yeah different story. My boat also got sunk when I spawned. Dude complained that I was "blocking the dock" or some shit
I've been learning Sea of Thieves watching your videos and playing with my roommate, our proudest achievement so far is ambushing a sloop that had looted a reapers chest shipwreck, I've really learned a lot about boarding from your videos and I was able to wipe them out and drop their anchor while my boy put holes in their ship
This video was actually what convinced me to get sea of thieves. I wanted to play it for a while but didn't have anyone to play with, and heard it was near impossible to play solo. So watching this video game me enough reason to try it, and I'm really glad I did! I love playing the game with or without friends.
Love you, Pixel...now that's out of the way. Only thing I would have added is keep your wheel straight with the anchor/sail step. Don't want your ship spinning. And you!make a highlight video, with wolf. See ya on the seas
The most frustrating thing is when you complete a boss fight or something like an ashen lord and then a ship comes out of nowhere, kills you, destroys your ship, and then takes the loot.
Never played the game, was just looking for info if my mates are not around. The "artstyle" of this is just plain perfect. I´m really feeling like a "old" pirate is teaching me young gun how to be a worthy pirat. Like and even sub well earned, sir.
When I started playing Sea of Thieves (September 2019) I barely got any help, So now I try to help as many new players as I can cuz I don’t want anyone to have go though that. “doing Shores Of Gold Tall Tale Alone.” I did all the Tall Tales alone on my first time doing them!
Awesome video. I agree with all points made here, but I do have a small addition - barrels. As a solo, those are your best friend and worst enemy at the same time. If you find yourself in a PvP situation where you bit off more than you can chew, those things can be a lifesaver. Pretend to run away, but once the ship is stable and free of holes, grab one, sneak up on the enemy following you, detonate the barrel below them and (if you survived - which takes a bit of practice) board them. Drop their anchor immediately, and if they are slow to react fight the repairing players. Buy as much time as you can, and maybe even sink them like that. But at the least the chaos and confusion makes it easy for you to run away. Also - never fear Galleons, the Sloop is quite maneuverable, so shake them off in narrow passages or do 180 - turns with your anchor around Rocks to gain time. But if you encounter a Galleon in an open space, you are mostly fucked. Peace =)
This video honestly changed my entire experience with this game. I just solo killed and sunk my first 2-person brig and the feeling is priceless! Pirate life 🏴☠️
You know what would be really funny... if the devs of Sea of Thieves made a one-player "ship". It'd be a dinghy with a single sail, a single continuous small cargo compartment below the top deck (which rides VERY low above the water), a cloth rain fly over the sculling rudder, a single bow cannon (more like a small grapeshot deck cannon) mounted on a deckgun pintle, and a rifle rack hanging up behind the rudder station tied to the rainfly staves. :-P There would be no life boat (as it would only be half again as big or twice as big as the size OF a life boat) but you would have several small barrels below decks and there would be only enough storage space as you could basically crouch to get into it, but it'd be just big enough to squat down into, take two steps fore and two steps aft of the central deck hatch, pass the thin mast running through the hull to the keel, and then have to stand back up again to get out of. It would be the most cumbersome little cargohold to get into and out of, as you have to crouch and/or stand to do either, but it would be the fastest little ship in the entire game, but with the most anemic fire power of them all. It'd be small enough that the sails would come all the way down to the gunwales and you'd have to crouch under them to get from the bow to the stern and vice versa if they were fully unfurled. It'd be like one of those little island hopper ships you see in the South Pacific cultures. It could even have an outrigger on one or both sides. :-P The gun COULD be a full-sized cannon, but if it were then it would need to be mounted on a turret so it could get enough swing to reach both sides of the ship for a single cannon. This way you could could still get a full cannon's worth of fire power out of her, but only one shot at a time. Perhaps it might somehow boost loading speed slightly also to make it less anemic. :-P
@@uui no, the sloop is a two player ship. It can be manned by one player but is designed for two. With that logic, a galleon is a one player ship due to the fact that one player can crew it.
Very good pieces of advice. I actually play SOT solo like 99% of the time since Beta and apply most of them already. Except the part where you look for people to play with and adjust your course because you see someone to avoid combat. Even fully loaded with treasures, I'm always too lazy to change course and end up sailing to other players. This got me to sink and lose everything several times, but you can actually come back and retrieve your treasures if you had plenty, because other players will need to gather your goods and turn them in. 90% of the time they will pick the nearest outpost from where your sank, so go full speed to that location, you might get lucky. I would also add, ALWAYS check your map before you start a battle (even unwanted one) so you can know where to come back. Also, sinking a 4 crew galleon solo is priceless :)
wel when I saw the teaser for this game 3-4 years ago I was oh this is gonna be the real shit as it came out there were bugs and it wasn't that big of a game but I think that despite it has been improved so major I haven't seen this game as an mmo or grindy game I have always seen it as the one game you and your mate's play on a friday night all the way to sunday night just relaxing and chilling having fun.

“Welcome to the Salty Spitoon, how tough are ya?” “How tough am I!? I played Sea of Thieves solo and did a fort.” “Yeah? So?” “And I did it on a Galleon.” “Right this way, sir! Sorry to keep you waiting!”
You said not to use the in game match making, but I remember in my early SOT days, I got into a galleon crew with pirate legends and they taught me all I needed to know and then some extra stuff that helped me. I even encountered a kraken with them, and one dude was barking out orders while the others followed and it all had a flow, and that’s how the basics got engrained into my mind, and my best first impression of any game ever. Afterwards I discovered how bad the matchmaking actually is, and one manned a sloop for a while until I got friends. This is how I got from pretty bad, to actually kind of ok at the game. And I haven’t gotten to good at the game yet. I also remember once I ended up alone on a galleon with a bunch of stuff and loot. I tried to solo it, but only for 10-20 minutes while I panicked and *somehow* managed to get the loot back to an outpost in mostly one piece. Also, I love the music in SOT. It’s so good. The full orchestra performing in the dire moments, and the music being low but kicking up when you land a cannon shot in the longer range battles. It’s all so amazing.
In my opinion start some big quest like an athena or something then turn on open crew they might be useless but If i jump of to board they can steer away from trouble and if they are horrible just wait the they will leave
2:52 Oh trust me, as a solo player myself, it takes a very long time. Though bloody worth it, traps are fun, Story is interesting, puzzles are amazing, Gold Hoarder curse is a beauty.
Thank you for the tips! I wasn't aiming to solo, but wanted some pointers before going out into the wild being a complete newbie. Something to note about tip 10, at 10:18 : As of this moment on steam, only 58% of players have the Unto the Horizon achievement. The feels from having under an hour playtime and being the only person on a crew who knew how to fish...
I did all of the shores of gold tale all by my self and even if it has taken me tons of hours in the game, these hours are some of the best I had in the whole game. I'm planing on trying to get the shore of gold curse in solo. Would recommend to every pirate out there. It really help you to learn your way around a ship. Now, even when i'm playing with friend, this experience is really helpfull and I can sail a brig or a galion on my own while theye board enemy or other things. It's a greath experience that really polish your skills.
3:04 very much agree with this. as a relatively new player to Sea of Thieves who tried to solo with the Brigatine, that was not fun with a lot of reasons but i also hated the fact that there was a sail directly in my face and had no crew to help me with that, i had to keep the other sail down and the one directly in front me up so i could see
I've been doing it for a year. Solo slooping forces you to learn how to play it extra well. I like to cannon over to galleons and tucc myself until I see loot to walk away with. More galleons need to grab a row boat. I much prefer to paddle away with all of your loot instead of having to select one item to swim with.
I thought it would be a video of you trolling and sinking galleons with 4 sized crews all by yourself, but it was actually a very informative and interesting video :)
ZeroChill 215 probably not when you first start, you won’t know what to do at all, my first time playing I got on a big galleon and they helped me n stuff, then later I went on a sloop with another noob and it was fun since we both didn’t know what we where doing but we where discovering stuff
I will be salty for one im covered in sea water Two im always only attack when im either on the way to somewhere or im fresh spawn 9 times out of 10 im attacked when i have nothing on my boat Like shit i wouldn't mind it but im always solo with literally nothing when im attacked XD (usually happens when im right next to my destination and have to go always go back across the map)
@@XpertPlazma kinda hard when they sit right where i spawn with blunderbusts and shoot me point blank (they get me while im trying to fix my ship cause they usually lob fire bombs after hitting me with cannons) I usually have to play as solo mostly because the people i get usually squaded with are complete idiots and wont follow quests or anything or just happen to be afk when the action starts) I either defend and sink or repair and die I can defend against another sloop but i always get attacked by full crew gallions
@@pixelman6193 I don't know what to say dude I've been teaching my friend how to play and he's been playing 3 days now. He can solo a galleon now, the main advice I tell him and I'll tell you for ANY game is... Don't panic. If you think oh well fuck it you can just do it again. If you have this approch to everything you will win more fights. You will make better choices in the heat of the moment, you will start to understand how fast your ship sinks and how long you have to kill the people on board before you have to repair, if you are on a sloop no matter how many holes you have you should be able to bucket faster (Trust I have). Anyway Enjoy the game dude.

Same, but all my friends were suddenly able to be online as soon as I unlocked shoes of gold.

Awesome video pixel always enjoy your content keep up the great work
“The sea of thieves is a great community for beginners”
I started playing when I first got my Xbox this Christmas so I’m not very new but I recently had a few encounters with very nice people one of them helped me on my voyage and the others formed an alliance with me and another crew before that though I would get attacked by any ship that came near me,I recently learned that if you point your cannons up it is a sign of peace so I have been doing that when I start my sloops
“The sea of thieves community is very welcoming to new players”
ohhh, is only this we’re true. I was literally killed on the island my very first time before even getting on my ship. Some dude just walked up and started killing me. No warning. No speaking. No interaction beyond killing me instantly.
And that is by far the most common interaction, unfortunately
yes "community" not every individual person.
Hilarious and highly inspiring :) I watched this at work and was excited to go back home and play again. Great content man!
I already know all this, as I've done a lot of solo slooping. but this guy is just entertaining.
"You want to play sea of thieves but your friends don't want to" man if this isn't the truth for like 80% of earth lmao
I love your sea of thieves videos please please do more and continue sea of thieves your editing and funny personality is perfect for this game!
Did the entire Tall Tale set by myself, all 9 voyages, 5 times, all journals. Yes it was hell, yes I loved every moment of it.
I did shores of gold solo and it took me about a week, but your reaction to it makes me feel more accomplished...I think that's why I love you
I actually started out by myself and I enjoy it very much, it's very calming i think and sometimes people are nice enough to make an allience
YAY... My wife and i been waiting on you brother.... Thank you sir.. For another AMAZING and awesome VideoSh..err, Videosch
love how you just answer the question in the thumbnail
This has to be the best content i have seen for a loooong time. Well done Sir.
i was already doing a lot of this stuff but you've really confirmed and given me confidence and what i was doing and for that i thank you. Great vid!
Emissary update
"I'm about to end this whole man's solo career"
Yes finally another vid
“You can’t play arena by yourself”
Sea of thieves: but what if..... arena sloop?
Still impossible
Captain Endy brandt won a solo arena sloop game just less than an hour ago
He says you practice while soloing in Arena. If you can win on solo, you don’t need to practice anymore.
you can play arena solo with a glitch
Well you can but its hard
Couldn’t agree more with the PhuzzyBond comment! Loved your video and it’s a really high quality
Peace =)
oh my I never been this early to a vid but clicked instantly

I been wanting to play this game.. but didn't think solo was possible. This got me hyped to try it. Thanks
There would be no life boat (as it would only be half again as big or twice as big as the size OF a life boat) but you would have several small barrels below decks and there would be only enough storage space as you could basically crouch to get into it, but it'd be just big enough to squat down into, take two steps fore and two steps aft of the central deck hatch, pass the thin mast running through the hull to the keel, and then have to stand back up again to get out of.
The gun COULD be a full-sized cannon, but if it were then it would need to be mounted on a turret so it could get enough swing to reach both sides of the ship for a single cannon. This way you could could still get a full cannon's worth of fire power out of her, but only one shot at a time. Perhaps it might somehow boost loading speed slightly also to make it less anemic. :-P
I'll just stick to the sloop thanks....
@@uui no, the sloop is a two player ship. It can be manned by one player but is designed for two. With that logic, a galleon is a one player ship due to the fact that one player can crew it.
I play Sea of Thieves solo while being on a Sloop, and it works.
I play by myself in a sloop all the time! It teaches me how to drive a ship better and it’s pretty nice to play alone and enjoy the environment.
Yesssss he finally uploaded the stars have aligned
wel when I saw the teaser for this game 3-4 years ago I was oh this is gonna be the real shit
as it came out there were bugs and it wasn't that big of a game but I think that despite it has been improved so major I haven't seen this game as an mmo or grindy game I have always seen it as the one game you and your mate's play on a friday night all the way to sunday night just relaxing and chilling having fun.
Yo love the vids man, you make my favorite sea of thieves videos
Very good guide!!! Going to start playing Sea of thieves soon (when it comes to steam). Im a hughe pirate fun. And i appriacte your tips. I will never forget your videos! Thanks for everything.
i sometimes find myself soloing there was this one time before they added the megladon and ghost ships i was soloing and was about to be attacked by a player galleon and the next thing i know the waters turning black i turn around and that player ship is being attacked by the kraken
i soloed few time just recently i had just opened the game for the day stocked up at the outpost after spawning in and left was immediately attacked by the kraken survived that went to an outpost to restock left and was attack by a ghost ship beat them got the loot and a continued playing went to 2/3 island with no issue and then was attacked by the megladon and a said fuck it am just gonna run went to an outpost sold all the loot i had before continuing playing
the last time i soloed it was close to 12 oclock at night i sold all the loot i had i went to steven spoils and started fishing then a see a player ship coming the was flyin the pvp flag a didnt really bother coz a was about to go off and he shot my ship with cannonballs he only hit about 3 shot out of 10 and then says sorry starts repairing my ship and leaves
This is a bit unrelated but I like your one piece pfp ;)

“Welcome to the Salty Spitoon, how tough are ya?”
“How tough am I!? I played Sea of Thieves solo and did a fort.”
“Yeah? So?”
“And I did it on a Galleon.”
“Right this way, sir! Sorry to keep you waiting!”
Thanks for the no spoilers the game is downloading right now and I’ve never played I’m super excited!
The reason why I and probably most of us watched this vid:
"You guys got friends?!"
I have 3 other friends i mainly play games with, but the annoying thing is that they all use PlayStation
Title: Can you Solo Sea of thieves?
Me, whos been doing that the entire time:
Yes, for like 20 minutes before you get bored
@Incredible Gamer i usually try to do the tall tales solo cause half the time whenever i get a crew they have no idea what they are doing
In my opinion start some big quest like an athena or something then turn on open crew they might be useless but If i jump of to board they can steer away from trouble and if they are horrible just wait the they will leave
@@captainshelf7 how do you turn on open crew?
If you are already in game
@@pixelman6193 you got to crew options and change crew type

Oh trust me, as a solo player myself, it takes a very long time.
"Those the sloop"
Me: alright cool!
*Chooses the 4 man crew*
The worst feeling is when you are on an island and your going back to your ship is getting barraged by another ship
just happened to me rn, thank God I had no loot
Great video mate. 10/10 editing and info
I somehow soloed a gallion (everyone in my crew left) and somehow destroyed a enemy player sloop.
Never.
Again.

Hi do you still play? Can whe play in a crew?
schlingel i do. And sure GT PunkRock Vixxen
Thats stupid rock makes me look every time

very much agree with this. as a relatively new player to Sea of Thieves who tried to solo with the Brigatine, that was not fun with a lot of reasons but i also hated the fact that there was a sail directly in my face and had no crew to help me with that, i had to keep the other sail down and the one directly in front me up so i could see
Why does this man not have more subs Jesus Christ this was the BEST sea of thieves guide I’ve ever seen in my entire life my god
Me always plays alone and alone killed every incounter in the game.
Also me can't kill an enemy player.
Tip number 80: shoot first
I've been doing it for a year.
Can you solo Sea of Thieves
Of course I know him, he’s me
Can it really be done... At least for the first few hours?... I actually just decided to jump into this game
After soloing for months I got so bored and still none of my friends wanted to try it out and now here I am 6 months later trying the game again
Jonah Kerkhove im on pc. wanna play with me and my other friend? we’re both 17 if that matters lol, just looking for more people to play with
ZeroChill 215 probably not when you first start, you won’t know what to do at all, my first time playing I got on a big galleon and they helped me n stuff, then later I went on a sloop with another noob and it was fun since we both didn’t know what we where doing but we where discovering stuff
Me who has been playing solo since the game came out: 🧐
Btw i have no friends
They've also added a audio queue for the ghost ships each time you look at them from your spy glass. just adding a little more info to tip 4.
Words can’t explain how much this inspired me to keep on playing the game.
Final tip: don’t be a salty pirate it’s Sea of THIEVES, note the full cap word
I will be salty for one im covered in sea water
Two im always only attack when im either on the way to somewhere or im fresh spawn
9 times out of 10 im attacked when i have nothing on my boat
Like shit i wouldn't mind it but im always solo with literally nothing when im attacked XD (usually happens when im right next to my destination and have to go always go back across the map)
@@pixelman6193 Then don't sink and you won't have to sail all the way back.
@@XpertPlazma kinda hard when they sit right where i spawn with blunderbusts and shoot me point blank (they get me while im trying to fix my ship cause they usually lob fire bombs after hitting me with cannons)
I usually have to play as solo mostly because the people i get usually squaded with are complete idiots and wont follow quests or anything or just happen to be afk when the action starts)
I either defend and sink or repair and die
I can defend against another sloop but i always get attacked by full crew gallions
Anyway Enjoy the game dude.
pixelman619 make an Xbox live post or use moot it might have people there
See, it’s funny, because I do this anyways.
