I love that Miss Maverick is tough like men in the old days when everyone slammed gears in those three speed big blocks. When people like me slammed gears with no seat belts, roll cage, or computers to rely on. It was a rush of pure excitement in the old days in racing 🐎 👍 😎. Also, most of the time it was racing, jumping railroad tracks, and while at times we would also do it drunk with a pack of Marlboros!!! (young and people didn't know any better, a badge of honor in those days)

Your killing me tess I didn't know that there could be so much entertainment in stick shifts. How awesome for Hanlon to notice that you are having difficulty with shifting and they sent you a assortment of parts for you to try. Thanks tess for the laughter. God bless and as always be safe.

I absolutely love it when companies do this! Really shows that they’re into the sport and not just the business. My very first video had a quick clip of my rockers and T&D messaged me on Instagram to say thank you for including the clip, I was blown away, I will forever support them now.

I would say that short-throw setup is exactly what you needed. Now, as you said, just try the different holes in that one, and then the other handles so it's in a comfortable range of motion for you. Can't wait to see the next practice video. Oh, and I came up with a new word for you to use when you can't decide if you're pushing or pulling. PULLSH !! That covers both and it's easy to say. That can be your own personal word--- my contribution !!! Keep rockin' it girl !!
Thanks Tess, GR8 video and a H-U-G-E SHOUT OUT to Hanlon for helping ya out! If we old timers could offer any tips it 'might be' to adjust your clutch (if possible) to disengage quicker and work on the left leg working the pedal quicker. The ON - OFF throttle action takes a ton of practice learning exactly how 'little' you can get away with lifting and again mashing it between gears. SPEED at the shift is that fine tuning action between the left leg, right foot and arm. It will come Miss Mav,,, it will come with tons a laps! 🙂
Tess makes ot look easy. But Tony definitely needs the short throw attachment you installed. To prevent the leverage from his guns breaking the shift stick.

way better shifting! 👍 you may need to back the screws off on the stops just a touch to make sure it's engaging fully. it took a few tweaks on mine to get it where it felt solid. good stuff!
Yep I sent a message 2 weeks ago and posted also about this very issue as I truly believe it be life changing in your worl of changing gears. Also if you put in some Nulon G70 additive in the gear oil that should fix the noch feeling between gear changes, this additive we used in the nascars here in Australia even the road course car when oil temp got to 300F which is hot had a failed gearbox cooler.
You can easily just Mill/Drill the same "Adjustment" holes in the other LEVERs you've got.
Use the lever with holes as a kind of stencil, just find the right/similar drill bit and make ur main 3 holes and hit the gaps with anything that works. Grinder, Rotary tool, whatever works. Smooth up any sharp spots with SP and, Ur done...

It’s like a pair of shoes, you have to find what fits.
Alot smoother in shift from 1st to 2nd check the last vid at the track and compare that vid to this vid shifting you'll see the difference between the two

The range of motion is way better! I agree, it does seem a bit too far forward but you can adjust that. I personally prefer a old school Hurst T handle vs a ball but that's why they make different stuff. Can't wait for the next one!

Awesome video Tess! The Hanlon shifter has a really short throw. It's awesome that they reached out to you & wanted to help! I think when you find the stick that fits you the best your shifts will be lightning fast!! You could tell there was a definite improvement with the 1st stick you tried. I'm looking forward to seeing what stick & ball or grip you decide is best. If you use the pistol grip could you wire the button to a second kit & use it like a scramble?
Checking them out for a better shifter for the TR6060 in my Z. The one that came with it from Tick Performance is okay but not completely to my liking.
You might need to strengthen your arms more for the short throw shifter, definitely takes a lot more effort in the cars I’ve driven

Maybe you need to create just a little bit and reset the seat a few degrees off square to the center line of the car
IF you can get your hands on some of the old Bill Jenkins Vega and monza cars videos or even still shots that might happen to show his seat is just a little bit out of square with the center line of the car
I think that idea is what made him row a 4 speed the way he is known for
What happened to HELLO! ? Just as a reference, I have an 08 Mustang with a t56 magnum. The throw from 1st to 2nd gear is 3 inches and my arm is parallel to the ground attitude. Now my Ranger is like rowing a boat.

Cant believe your making such a fuss with shifting, my advice would be get a daily stick shift car and drive it around every day... ITS Only a gear change after all ... Love your channel and keep up the great work ....
I would turn the lever back around and then adjust the lever to its farther most forward position and I think it will be perfect position for your arm. 🪙🪙
