In this episode, Dan is joined by Pastor Fleming, a former addict and ex-criminal who found spirituality and God after a series of pivotal moments in his life. Mick turned to criminality and drugs after suffering two traumatic events as a child and shares with Dan his life journey from this point, into drug abuse and criminality and eventually into healing, through the power of faith.
Mick himself said he should have been dead many times, he survived several attempts on his life after working as an enforcer for the criminal underworld, a failed attempt at suicide and years of violence and drug abuse. After leaving a psychiatric unit Mick went on to achieve a degree in theology, is now ordained a priest and has recently been consecrated as a bishop.
Pastor Mick also runs a charity called ‘Church On The Street’, helping people struggling in the cost of living crisis.

I believe i was saved. My life wasn't quite as exciting as pastor micks. But i was fully in addiction. Id been injecting amphetamines and smoking crack for a number of years. And if i hadnt dropped my phone outside a ladies house who was washing the pots and saw me out of her window looking such a mess. I might not of made it into rehab. I believe a higher power kept me safe in addiction. I almost just missed the danger or the police by minutes. Can think of a few situations i wont go into on here. Thankfully i turned 2 years 9 months clean yesterday. ❤

I've watched this podcast from day 1. And it has really helped me. This podcast and the one before it have not helped as they have not discussed there addiction process.
I cant relate to it. You need to show the negatives to appreciate the positives. The earlier more 'honest' podcasts where much better. Dont lose your way Dapper.

Really enjoyed this. And learned a lot. I’ve been feeling God more in my life lately and been trying to connect with him. Like Dapper in the past I’ve thought I didn’t believe or didn’t feel God but something has changed in me on this sober path. The way the pastor described God and his connection with him was relatable to a lad like me and I’m sure it will be with many others too! 🙏💪👊

Wow. An utterly powerful story, thankful to have heard it, my struggle with addiction isn't the worst, but it does have a grip on me. I discovered this YT channel via shorts, and when I see the short I clicked onto the channel and this is the first long form video I chose to watch on this channel, and I shared it straight away with others I know are battling with addiction, this message brings soo much hope. Thanks again for sharing this message, I love what this channel is about too.

This was wonderfully hosted and you are doing a fantastic job. I’m 38 and have two kids and I’m there with you and sober brother.
I’m a regular AA member and I’m not by any stretch religious but your open mindedness is exactly what is required to accept a god in whichever way you want it.
I simply replace the word god for love in text and that can help for those who see religion/god/faith as a barrier to sobriety through the prism of AA and a faith in a higher power
