- A guide to upgrading the Acer Aspire 3 A315-54K M.2 2280 NVMe SSD, adding a 2.5" HDD/SSD and additional RAM.
This is a relatively simple process requiring just a small Philips head screwdriver and a plastic pry tool.

From memory it came in the box with the laptop, at least on the models here in the UK.
Thank you i purchased this laptop for my daughter to use for school and play few basic games like roblox. its very slow and the memory is a joke and windows defender takes more than 90% most of the time. This tutorial helps a lot. I know my way round a desktop PC as i build my own when needed, laptop are another thing this helps with the basics thank you!
It has a M.2 Slot avaiable. Why not to use it?

Hi there, so by just changing the SSD the laptop will run faster? I've got the same laptop and it takes forever to switch and even longer to open documents, chrome, or anything in general

Many thanks for this very clear and concise video. I would assume that the m2 slot can be used to install Intel Optane to speed up either the 2.5" SSD or HDD that is in the machine? I have ordered the 8GB RAM to bring total RAM up to 12GB, as felt maxing out this at 20GB was overkill on the i3 7020U chip. Already installed the Crucial MX500 SSD and seen a massive difference, hopefully with that extra RAM I might not need any Optane boost.
Is it possible to install an NVMe m. 2?

I'm gonna buy myself a M2 SSD soon, i bought it with an HDD and it make noises, i'm not 100% certain this hard drive will last long...
