I love this place!!!!! That one on the bench is Miss Daisy! She was the princess that lived in the palace! She and her husband came to improve the way polish worked the mines (they were english). We live in Katowice and often go there! ❤️ please let us know beforehand where you’ll be!!!!!!
There are a few little towns south from Pszczyna. For example Cieszyn - it's equally quiet and it border with Czech Republic and the border line lies in the middle of the river Olza. And you can spend some time in the Beskid Śląski mountains with their towns: Ustroń (there you can use a chairlift to get to the top of Czantoria mountain), Wisła - the town with a ski jump. And neare from there lie villages Istebna and Koniaków and there is really quiet.
I know Cieszyn it’s great town.

It’s actually not that expensive, there’s cities in Poland where you can get a cosy flat for €20,000 and living costs are generally low
@@AdAstraLabs Gdansk would be my city of choice but my partner has medical issues that would be very costly in Poland ,saying that a flat for that price is worth considering 👍
I really love Poland. Moreover, from September, I will learn the Polish language, and in a few years, I wish to live permanently in Poland. I have been to Wroclaw, Warsaw, and in October, I'm going to Gdansk for ten days.
Next year, I want to go to Poland for one or two months but I hesitate between Bielsko-Biała, Łódź, Poznań, Szczecin. or Częstochowa. Some people will tell me to go to Krakow but I do not want to go to a very tourist town because since I want to live permanently in Poland, I want to go to less touristy cities than Krakow.

Luke, go to towns of Wisła or Ustroń in Silesian Beskids Mountains - about 60 kilometers from Pszczyna.
Could even go to Cieszyn and then cross into Český Těšín then take a train to Ostrava
Try Pszczyna on a warm Sunday afternoon ;-) No peace!

Luke in 100% you have to visit LUBLIN. I'm polish but my boyfriend is british and he loved this city. He was thinking exactly the same about Poland before he came here first time, now - he is in love with Poland :) so remember - LUBLIN is a next place!! At the begining of the vlog You are showing and staying in Załęże. This was the most poorest part of Katowice few years back. I lived there for 30 years. Now its quite modern and safe. People are having jobs so the crime level is low :). Glad to see it changed a lot. Respect. Best regards to You. Jack.

I live in Tychy mate, you could have visited the Brewery of Tyskie beer, Paprocany (the "famous" pyramid hotel), Promnice castle as well. You can get anywhere by bus ^^

Asking "wszystko dobrze?" can scare people in Poland. They could suspect you know about some bad things they do not know yet :D
It would be better to simply say "Cześć! Jak leci (ludziska)?" (Hi! What's up (dudes)?) or "Sie ma!" (Wazzup!)
I was about to ask you to say "Pszczyna" and just that exact moment you said "Pczyn(i)a", LOL. Surprisingly the name "Pczyna" was one of variant names used in XIV and XV c.

6:28 The palace/castle in Pszczyna belonged to the prince family Hochberg von Pless (Pless = German for Pszczyna) and the family itself was from the town of Książ (German Fürstenstein) near Wrocław where even bigger castle is placed.
How long will you be staying in the region? Maybe you'd like a local to show you some nice places? I think Nikiszowiec is on a must-see list.

I think You should also visit Gliwice near to Katowice, small but beautiful old city square, Zwyciestwa street and botanical Palmiarnia - palm house. Because You are on the south please go also to Zakopane or Cieszyn :) I think You might like them a lot.

I think we stayed at the same hostel (I assume it's near the place where you said you had to change hostels, near the station). It wasn't great lol, but there's not many tourists in Kato, so not many hostels to chose from.
The point is, that you enjoy of crap cities from one simple reason. You not living there, you are just tourist, thats why ppl ask "why you going there". From our point of view thoose are places, where nobody wanna lives. Im sure, that in US is vice versa, that some "slums" for you, for me could be very interesting in short term :)
