- Fun sail to the Alligator Reef Lighthouse off the Florida Keys in a Hobie Tandem Island sailing kayak. The video includes a few underwater shots as well as aerial views captured from a kite above Alligator Reef Lighthouse.
Experience unbelievable bright blue water that surrounds Alligator Reef.
Total sailing distance was 25 miles covered in about 6 hours.

Can you please tell me more about your trampoline and splash guards? Are these stock hobie trampolines? Where did you get the front splash guards? Also, can you tell me about your depth finder and navigation system you use? Thanks

Yes, nice sailing! As for the anchor (blue Cooper)....it did ok on sandy bottoms but did not hold on the soft bottoms. As for this sail to Alligator Reef, the moderate waves bobbing up and down kept pulling the anchor up off the bottom and thus I had a slow drift downwind. I had a lot of scope (line) out but still had a drift. I am planning on switching out my anchor.....

Agree. The color of the water was amazing. ..... back to my local brown water of the Chesapeake Bay , Delaware Bay and the Mid Atlantic Ocean....
Great video Jim. I still hope to buy a Hobie Tandem Island. I purchased a Windrider 16 but it is very heavy for me. I am 73 years old and would really like to have a Tandem Iskand. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
