One thing I forgot to mention in the video. If your truck has a rear sway bar installed, you will need to first disconnect the end links from the bar, before you attempt jacking up the truck. Otherwise, you will not get full droop on the leaf springs, and it will be difficult for you to slide the rubber pads in between the leafs.

My 2021 Colorado ZR2 started clunking bad in the rear after I undercoated with Fluid Film. I was close to trading it in it was so embarrassingly bad. Spring Things fixed the issue immediately.
Awesome video Ty for sharing. My 2020 zr2 is making the noise. Now I have the solution. Truck was at dealer for 2 weeks and they said nothing is wrong lol.
Just put an order in. Don't usually go through the comments. But same issue. 2018 COLORADO ZR2 with about 60k miles, started around 30k. Dealer couldn't find the issue. Clunking in the back is annoying, any little bump. Lets see how these work out. Looking forward to them.
Hoping this will work on my just purchased 2018 Silverado. My only difference is this truck was lowered. But I figured out sound was from right where you first showed in video, the front bracket around top 2 leaves. The dealership putting me off because they realize they are Ford service lol, but I will spend on this item and I bet problem will be solved.
My 2020 f150 was popping and clunking. Never seen this issue before working in a shop dealing with these trucks all the time. I’m sure my truck has a defective leaf spring or something and the dealer says it’s normal lol. I replaced the isolator pads and that fixed it for 6 months and now it’s back so I’m gonna get this and call it a day
I have a 21 Silverado 2500HD and was having issues with the leaf springs. I was able to install this product on the front end of the springs but couldn’t get to the back because it was too difficult. The noise seems to have gone away but the fact that only the front end springs have them, bothers me like an unbalanced equation. Should I try again to install them in the back? Is it fine as it? Thanks for the video!
Makes sense. The heavy duty springs are much stiffer and probably a lot harder to separate. I don’t think it’s harming anything. If your noise is gone, I’d say you’re fine. Thanks for watching.
I tow a 14,000 5th wheel with my truck back and forth to Florida each year and I emailed Spring Thing to ask how long these would hold up towing fairly heavy like I do. I didn't get a response from them. Do you know if they are still in business? I don't want to order them and then not get them while being out the money.
People have been commenting about orders being fulfilled. So I assume they’re still in business. You can also make a similar thing out of 1/4” thick rubber mats. Cut them up and replace them as needed.
I installed these a year ago on a 2014 Sierra 1500 with a lift and they were quiet, for a while. I was under the truck washing it about 6 months later and the zip ties were broken on a couple and they were flattened out and slipping out of the spot. Not sure if I'm too aggressive with my occasional off road driving but $45 every 6-12 months might be better off buying a new set of leaf springs.
I had the dealer replace both driver and passenger leaf packs and sound still exists on my 2023 Sierra 1500. The fact GM has addressed this correctly is insane
I have a 2006 Sierra Crew cab and I recently replaced the leaf springs and went with the 2013+ GM springs. They are a direct fit but increase the payload capacity by a few hundred lbs. Almost immediately I noticed a lot of clunking or rattle from the springs when going over bumps. Will these fix that?
Yea, greasing the leaf pack is the dealership fix. And it's been proven to help, but does not last very long. The rubber pads should do the trick. Thanks for watching!
That's what I was doing for a few month's before I came up with the idea for the spring-thing. :( That got old pretty quick! I actually hated driving my truck for a while lol These will make you like driving your truck again :) They also do away with that clanking sound these trucks make.
@@spring-thingllc8342 yes my problem is the clanking. It's amazing how something so simple can make your truck sound like it's falling apart. I hate driving my truck with that noise...it's embarrassing. Greasing the leafs get old quick!
You absolutely need to jack up the truck. When the weight of the truck is on the springs you'll never be able to slip the rubber pads in between the leafs. Jacking up the truck allows the leafs to droop and then you can pry them open slightly to slip in the pad. Thanks for watching.
Yes an absolute must. I didn’t mention it in the video because most people don’t have a sway bar. But I just removed the bolts on the bottle of the sway bar end links.
I just installed my spring things a while ago and went for a test drive. Most of the noises I was hearing went away. I still have another noise, not sure what that it is, might be a brake line or something rattling underneath, but the spring things are a good investment, easy to install, and do the job. Seems like a smoother ride too.
@@fondupot I think the springs need to be replaced. 15 yr old truck, and I cant find anything lose anywhere. Gotta be the springs. Pads stop some of the noise, and If I put lithium grease in between the springs, it settles down, but you can see where they are buckling and rubbing, I think next year or maybe this year I will find some new ones? No any good mfgs? These were mfg in mexico, probably along with the truck. hehehaha
@@fondupot Living in Oklahoma here. Weather getting warmer, I did spray some lithium grease a little bit, with the warmer weather, the noise goes away, and early in the morning it returns, I think your assessment is correct. Ive seen so many ideas on here, lots of things to try.
I installed these on my 2018 Silverado a while back, hasn't made a sound since. I can't believe GM hasn't corrected this issue on the newer model trucks.
My 2019 Colorado started squeaking at 9000 miles. Dealer change the springs and 1000 miles later, noise returned. We back to dealer, and they tried doubling to factory rubber pads and lubricating the springs. Worked for 500 miles. When factory warranty expired, installed spring things. Took me about 1 hour. So far noise gone. Fingers crossed.
It appears that the creek is coming from the front spring bushing. Tried spraying with lubricant, but no luck. Guess I just have to live with it. This is my last GM vehicle. Shouldn’t sound like an old work truck starting at 9K miles. Spring Thing might have worked if the noise came from the leaves themself. Let’s see if my wife will let me buy a Honda Ridgeline (if I can find one without a dealer markup).
2024 Canyon.... Weird sound like a ball rolling around somewhere.... Mine seems to be on the passenger side front door area .. could it possibly be the rear leaf springs ?
I've got the same sound.... Mine actually sounds like it's coming from the passenger door area.... Could the leaf springs sound just be traveling forward ?
I just bought a 2020 Colorado wt. whenever I pull in side ways into my drive way, my bed sounds like it’s loose or rattling, cuz I pull in at an angle. If that makes sense. Maybe this spring thing will help with the clunk?!
Ok.. I have a 2016 GMC Canyon All Terrain and I’ve noticed for well over a year now that the bumps cause the squeak BUT ONLY when I press on the brakes going over them. I’ve tried bringing it to the dealer but they couldn’t find the issue.. are you telling me this is the same issue I am more than likely having?! 😳🤯

Mine went from annoying to almost none existent. It felt like I was riding on air suspension pulling out of my drive way without he clunking for the first time in my BRAND NEW 2023 Silverado custom.
I have a 2024 Colorado ZR2. I must say I had a hard time installing these on the front and rear. The problem I was having was trying to get the leaf springs seperated. I was able to slide them in but not the way the instructions tell you to. Instead I had to install them with the ears facing in the opposite direction. If that makes any sense. It did seem to help, although I am bothered by not installing them like the instructions suggest. Is there an easier way to seperate the springs? Thanks for the video!
I think the spring-things can be installed in either direction and still work. You may not have had enough room to install them as shown in the instructions.
@@fondupot I got them installed coerrectly the next day. It helps to jack the truck up by the frame! ( I was jacking it up on the leaf spring brackets that go to the axle). I was then able to get the spings seperated. 100% quieter. I am happy!! Thank you for your reply.
Hmm. Your leaf pack may be looser than normal. Try giving your U-bolts a tightening and check your shock mounts too. Keep in mind, these pads wont remove 100% of the leaf pack noise, but it should reduce it significantly.
These will fit other vehicles! I designed them for GM full size trucks because that's what I own but it will work on any vehicle that has 2.5" wide or wider leaf springs. I guess some toyota and ford owners are having similar problems but I haven't been able to check on how wide their springs are yet. If anyone can post that info I would appreciate it! Thanks!
Will this work with a 2020 chevy silverado trail boss. The TB comes with a two inch lift. Not sure if this would matter. I see in the description it says 2nd gen but wanted to double check. Thank you
One thing I forgot to mention in the video. If your truck has a rear sway bar installed, you will need to first disconnect the end links from the bar, before you attempt jacking up the truck. Otherwise, you will not get full droop on the leaf springs, and it will be difficult for you to slide the rubber pads in between the leafs.

Hope this helps someone with same issues
Wow just threw these on my 2019 Silverado instant fix quick install can't believe it. No more weird looks at the Timmies drive-thru... well at least not for the squeaking.
Haha. Right on.
Will install in my Colorattle. Thanks for the review bud!
Awesome. Good luck!
colorattle! lol good one! Thank you
My 2021 Colorado ZR2 started clunking bad in the rear after I undercoated with Fluid Film. I was close to trading it in it was so embarrassingly bad. Spring Things fixed the issue immediately.
Did this just using rubber on my bt50. Worked a treat.
2015 Sierra here and just ordered 👍
Hope it helps!
@@fondupotdef did
Hey, that's pretty cool. I didn't know I needed that. If I don't, I probably will in the near future! Thanks for the review.
Yea these helped quiet the springs on my Canyon. Definitely a nice little product. Thanks for watching!
@@fondupot You bet. Thanks for the info. Is there any trick to disconnecting the sway bar or is it strightforward?
Very simple. Before jacking up the truck just remove the bolts on the end links. Mine came out really easy.
@@fondupot Cool, thanks.
You bet! Good luck
Awesome video Ty for sharing. My 2020 zr2 is making the noise. Now I have the solution. Truck was at dealer for 2 weeks and they said nothing is wrong lol.
Dealers are usually worthless, give this a shot and you'll be satisfied. Thanks for watching!
I have a 2011 f150, my springs measure 3". I just ordered the kit so I will let you know how well they work.
Should probably still work out for you. Report back though!
DID IT FIX THE CLUNK ?
Glad to help thanks for watching
My 2020 f150 was popping and clunking. Never seen this issue before working in a shop dealing with these trucks all the time. I’m sure my truck has a defective leaf spring or something and the dealer says it’s normal lol. I replaced the isolator pads and that fixed it for 6 months and now it’s back so I’m gonna get this and call it a day
Good luck!
Just put them on my 2019 Silverado and wow what a difference. I hope they last!
Do you have the measurements of the pieces. Think I can make them
I have a 21 Silverado 2500HD and was having issues with the leaf springs.
I’m trying the same thing on a 24 2500 and the rear is such a pain. But it still makes the noise. I was only able to put the front.
Great video! Simply and easy. I'd definitely take the wheels off. I can see fighting with the screwdriver up there. Thanks!
I did the passenger side off camera without removing the wheel it’s not that bad. Thanks for watching!
@@fondupot I didn't remove the wheels when I installed them in my 17 sierra :)
Should help yea.
Just installed mine on a 2015 Sierra and will update when I go for a drive
Hope it works out for you! Should eliminate most of the noise.
Definitely getting these! Thank you. I greased mine and that fixed it but washing my vehicles so much it doesn't last.
Yea, greasing the leaf pack is the dealership fix. And it's been proven to help, but does not last very long. The rubber pads should do the trick. Thanks for watching!
That's what I was doing for a few month's before I came up with the idea for the spring-thing. :( That got old pretty quick! I actually hated driving my truck for a while lol
These will make you like driving your truck again :) They also do away with that clanking sound these trucks make.
@@spring-thingllc8342 yes my problem is the clanking. It's amazing how something so simple can make your truck sound like it's falling apart. I hate driving my truck with that noise...it's embarrassing. Greasing the leafs get old quick!
So after two years how’s your feedback?
Been fine.
@@fondupot great ! Ordered it yesterday
So, can you do this without jacking the truck up? Or is jacking it up a must? Also, do you remove the factory pads, or just add these on top? Thanks.
You absolutely need to jack up the truck. When the weight of the truck is on the springs you'll never be able to slip the rubber pads in between the leafs. Jacking up the truck allows the leafs to droop and then you can pry them open slightly to slip in the pad. Thanks for watching.
So you don't need to removed the old buffers?
Nope. Just skip these in between.
Did you disconnect the rear sway bar link to get the axle to droop a bit more?
Yes an absolute must. I didn’t mention it in the video because most people don’t have a sway bar. But I just removed the bolts on the bottle of the sway bar end links.
I just installed my spring things a while ago and went for a test drive. Most of the noises I was hearing went away. I still have another noise, not sure what that it is, might be a brake line or something rattling underneath, but the spring things are a good investment, easy to install, and do the job. Seems like a smoother ride too.
Good to hear they helped. Hopefully you can figure out your other noise.
These were mfg in mexico, probably along with the truck. hehehaha
Could be. They might also need a good power washing and then lube them up with grease. Could have some rocks and dirt between the springs.
@@fondupot Living in Oklahoma here. Weather getting warmer, I did spray some lithium grease a little bit, with the warmer weather, the noise goes away, and early in the morning it returns, I think your assessment is correct. One of these warm or hot weekend days, I will scrub them down and then spray grease in there. I might modify them with some brackets to keep them tighter. Ive seen so many ideas on here, lots of things to try.
Could be the bushings going bad. And as they warm up the noise goes away. But when their cold they squeak.
I installed these on my 2018 Silverado a while back, hasn't made a sound since. I can't believe GM hasn't corrected this issue on the newer model trucks.
Glad it helped!
Thank you for a great video.
Cheers. Thanks for watching.
Glad to hear. Thanks for watching.
Noise returned after about 400 miles. Very disappointed.
Sorry to hear. Try repositioning the pads.
Let’s see if my wife will let me buy a Honda Ridgeline (if I can find one without a dealer markup).
any ideas on how to get rid of the wind whistle noise on the rear slider on my 201 ZR2? Its driving me crazy above 40 mph!
Honestly no. That’s the first I’ve heard of that issue. Maybe make sure the track is clean and seals correctly.
Easy install took about 15min spring clunk gone on 2016 gmc sierra all terrain dealers quoted me 480 to do and 2.5 hrs labor not covered by warranty
Glad to hear!
@@fondupot thanks for the video brother
2024 Canyon.... Weird sound like a ball rolling around somewhere.... Mine seems to be on the passenger side front door area .. could it possibly be the rear leaf springs ?
I've got the same sound.... Mine actually sounds like it's coming from the passenger door area.... Could the leaf springs sound just be traveling forward ?
That’s a strange one. Ball rolling around is not how I would describe the leaf spring slap.
Great idea. I've got some scrap rubber. I'm gonna cut some up and do this.
Should work great.
I just bought a 2020 Colorado wt. whenever I pull in side ways into my drive way, my bed sounds like it’s loose or rattling, cuz I pull in at an angle. If that makes sense. Maybe this spring thing will help with the clunk?!
Yea, sounds like the typical spring slap that happens with these trucks. These should help! Thanks for watching. Good luck!
would it be better to remove the original isolaters before installing the spring thing?
No. I wouldn’t.
Worked on my 15
Could be! Give it a shot. Good luck!
Excellent video .. I will try this on my F150
Thanks. Good luck. Should work perfect
Just did this on a 2017 sierra. All sounds gone. Its like a new truck!
Giddy up! Glad it worked.
I had the same issue so I sprayed them it stop making noise but those pads will fix the problem for a VERY Long time
They sure do! Thanks for watching!
I made mine out of 1/4 inch rubber…now my rear suspension feels so rigid..did you have this experience after the install?
Hmm no.
How long have you had the spring things installed? Any issues since installed?
About 6 months. No issues 👍🏼
Is it just a noise or can it cause damage if not addressed?
@@OomptzMusic just noise. An annoyance more than anything. I don’t think anything will be damaged.
Video states 2014+. Are the springs different on a 2013 Sierra? Will these still work as intended? Mine are awfully noisy when not lubricated.
This should work on pretty much ANY pickup with leaf springs. I need to update the description...
I was wondering the same thing Garth Mattson because I have a 2013 Sierra, I only have three leafs on mine, not much overhang. Did you try them?
Should work fine on your Sierra too.
did you have to adjust them from time to time?
I haven't touched them yet since installing them.

Check the video description.
I don’t have a Jack. Do you have to Jack up your truck to install??
Yes. You have to take the pressure off the leafs in order to slide in the pads.
Did you install the spring things over the factory isolators or did you remove them? I left mine on with the spring things over them & it’s still squeaking like mad.
Yea the factory pads remained. You can try greasing the pads up and see if that helps. Mine still squeaked a little after the pads tho.
I have the '17 full size GMC. it has only three leafs'. Im struggling with the front installation . Jacked it up removed the tire, only about an inch from the overlap. I tried the area before the bracket wrap, but the noise is still there. Any suggestions??
Hmm not sure. It’s not gonna remove all the noise. But it should at least be improved some.
Months ago following your advice, sent them an email, including yr/model of GMC truck.
Asking them if they had a distributor or vendor in Canada. If not, do they sell the product to Canadian clients (street addresses) directly.
Also if so do would they ship via USPS regular international parcel post. We don't need to pay for pricey expedited since all international parcel post gets on a plane. Not a stagecoach :-)
Never received a reply ! Not even a tap reply to say received to at least indicate they would do research when time permitted. ;-)

Hmm. Sorry to hear that. You can make them yourself out of thick rubber. Good luck!

Report back after you do and let me know how it went!
I will. My trucks under warranty. So I have to talk to the dealer first

You can’t fit one between all the leafs. Unless you use much thinner material.
good afternoon hey oh what to grease them or not?
Grease only lasts for a while. The rubber pads will last forever.
ok but the rubbers have to be greased to install them or not?

Try lubricating the pads and then sliding them in while you open the leafs.
@@fondupot I was thinking of putting a shim in there lol. I busted my finger trying to pry it open with the screw driver lol it slipped out 😅
How much of a noise reduction did it do
A good 75-85% reduction in noise. Much better to be honest.
I got 100% worth every penny
Mine went from annoying to almost none existent. It felt like I was riding on air suspension pulling out of my drive way without he clunking for the first time in my BRAND NEW 2023 Silverado custom.
Wouldn't you need twice that? 2 for infront of the Pin and 2 behind it? Per spring
You can’t fit more than one on either side. The leafs don’t open enough.
How much life of this rubber ?
@@NOOB-dm7jr not sure. Don’t have the truck anymore. But they were still fine after a few years.
I just squeezed some hot glue gun glue in-between the gaps of the leafs and it totally worked 100% …. If it fails down the road just do it again
These used to be 30😭 any discount code to buy some?
Why do they cost now? Sorry, I don’t have any codes.
Yea you gotta let the springs droop. Glad you got it figured out.
So it only works for GM trucks?
Should work for pretty much any truck with leaf springs.
@@fondupot i don’t get how brand new leafs and bushings can make all this noise
Piss poor engineering
Bought these and they didn't work and I doubt I did it wrong but I'm open to suggestions.
Hmm. Your leaf pack may be looser than normal. Try giving your U-bolts a tightening and check your shock mounts too. Keep in mind, these pads wont remove 100% of the leaf pack noise, but it should reduce it significantly.
I'll for sure be doing this soon. Thanks you!
Glad to help.
Did you see the word safely is spelled wrong in the instructions?

I designed them for GM full size trucks because that's what I own but it will work on any vehicle that has 2.5" wide or wider leaf springs.
I guess some toyota and ford owners are having similar problems but I haven't been able to check on how wide their springs are yet. If anyone can post that info I would appreciate it! Thanks!
