This is an example of a great video. Lots of good information, addressing real problems with great solutions. Very detail instructions with great illustration’s. No smoke and mirrors if you know what I mean. I really appreciate you taking the time to share this best practices and of course your experience. I am a DlE engine fan for a long time and you covered everything on your Dle series. Keep up the good work and I hope I see more of your videos in the future. I will subscribe
Thanks for the supportive comments. I appreciate it. Lots for me to learn on gas engines. I recently purchased a used DLE-30 cc, side exhaust. I hope to share that soon as well.
Your Du-Bro mount will work. You are trying to mount your engine up right and it is intended to me mounted inverted with the exhaust openings pointing toward the ground noy nlowing in your face. Also you could put a spacer or stand off between your firewall and mount for added clearance.
Ill be posting a vid shortly to show it wont work either way. It would work if the mounting beam was straight on both sides, but it angled on the lower side so the engine would then be tilted. And then when you flip it in top of the engine mount it runs up against the exhaust again. Ill post the follow up vid soon
Hello James...something to consider. With regard to the Miracle RC engine mounts, you mentioned that you would drill out the firewall mount portion to a larger bolt. That would not buy you anything safety/failure wise because you still have the same size fasteners on the engine flange to mount t-bar. A quick look at the strength of tensile strength and bolt and threads of a good quality ANSI bolt or screw, a #8 fasteners is plenty strong. I cannot tell from the video what size comes with the t-bar...but no need to go up to 1/4 " bolt. Way overkill for this. But if you feel comfortable with a larger bolt, then a #10 is plenty big. Again...ditch the chinese fasteners and buy good quality ANSI rated fasteners.
Bonjour J ai trouvé l autre jour 4 supports moteurs ( neufs) vendus 10€ par un particulier a côté de chez moi. Maintenant je vais devoir trouver 4 avions a construire 😅.

This series has been very helpful and well done.
Thanks, since I started it I have received a lot of good advice from others. Check out the comments, great stuff people are adding.
You could use some stand offs against the firewall to get some clearance for the miracle mount.
That was my thought
Davvero, come sempre molto utile le tue riflessioni grazie
Thanks Marco!
You could chuck those Du-bro mounts up in a mill and take the taper off the bottom side and run them upside down. That lower leg is shorter.
Ya that would work, but if I had a mill I’d be making my own mounts from aluminum stock, hm that sounds like a good idea!
Plenty more rudimentary tools to do the same job. Sanding disk and a file…or just a file and some patience.
Ya, really, stick it in a vice and it probably wouldn’t take that much effort. That probably is the best suggestion. Ill keep that in mind. Cool!

Thanks for the insight. Ya I think Ill leave it alone and just use it on a smaller setup or your suggestion of the better quality bolts is good.
To kil 2 problems at once.
Use rubber bracket studbolts in the chinese mount.
Bigger tread and space between the engine and firewall
Thanks, I’ll have to look into thise. Haven’t heard of them.
Oh man don't worry about that hole pattern it's the thrust line you watch not the hole pattern
Love your builds btw.
Thanks!
Could you use the Dubro engine mount if you flipped the engine upside down?
Interesting, Id have to look at that… hmmm
I probably should have said flip the engine mount upside down, because it looked like one set of mounting ears is shorter than the other set.
Im gonna check.
Just checked, it wont fit. Ill do a little update to the video. Thanks for checking this.
ok, It looked like it might would have worked.@@JamesRCPlaneTech
I don't trust the firewall patterns in the DLE manuals, I have a 35 and the firewall pattern was over an inch too wide.
Ya, probably best to check it and rely on your own measurements
Why are you saying 13O7 wete it mostly likely is zero
Bonjour

😁
Probably too late to go old school, and use spruce mounts.
Ya, I don’t think I could take that on at this point. Im gonna use the Great Planes one
Turn it over your kidding right its the thrust line you watch not the hole line up
Wow, I’ll take a look at that. I didn’t think of that. If it clears Ill update the video. Thanks
I checked. Doesn’t fit if you flip it either. Ill do an update to this vid to explain
