I remember many people saying Top boy was glamorizing the drug trade. I've watched all five seasons and after seeing Dushane and Scully meet their fates im inclined to disagree. The writers tried to humanize these characters and to be honest they did a remarkable job. However lets not forget that people like this are living in all our community rich,middle,poor and whatever. Don't lie to yourself and say they deserved better. These people killed like ordering coffee and sold poison to their very own community.
You are right but before meting out justice know that most of these people whom live this lifestyle came this way on similar paths and most are redeemable . This is where people find sadness in the monsters sad fate . Where you see a young group in dysfunction it is the community who raise them like this. ...When you check it out they never had a chance
I highly dislike how this season ended. No closure on any character at all. Dushane really went out like that. Like really

Well dushane was as much as monster as Sully. His crooked “morals” makes people think he deserved better but he didn’t. Like Sully said your either a monster or you Food. In real life Dushane would of definitely been shot or stabbed like this

None of the characters got closure in Top Boy. Did they ever name Lauryn’s baby? What happened to Jaq? Where did Aaron go? Did Shelley find out about DuShane? The aftermath of the riot? Nothing just useless. I don’t usually get mad about a show but this THIS has set me off.
Lauryn named her baby Jack just before she died, Aaron went to Leeds to study. Apart from that I agree with u, storylines all overthe place

Ok so none of top boy made sense. Jaq would never rob Sully. Aaron wouldn’t desert his baby bro after their older bro jus died. Dushane should not be able to run the way he runs nor should he be leaving prints at a crime scene at his big age.
Jaq robbing sully was already explained by jaq. The literal title of the episode helped you as well. She robbed sully because her dumb self thought she could stop the death and destruction of the drugs she was selling. Her sister dying triggered some wack hero complex that her small azz could not handle.

Those 2 got away with his money, why do you need to know what happened to extras? After Dushane's mom died him and bro severed ties, the end. The morroco dudes got their heads chopped off, lost the connect. Curtis sister ran out of town afraid for her life, also another extra. Why is her story important. The under cover cops also extras. Etc sounds like just something to complain about. The writers only error was making it 6 episodes
Its a complete circle......Dushane and Sully only had each other. Dushane had Sully with him at his end. Sully died with no one there for him.

There are no happy endings in this type of life so I honestly think the ending was perfect, it doesn't matter who killed who in the end, the point is that a bullet will always find you. If you make money in a crooked way the money will never fully be secure

Happy endings or not what most care about is a good ending. Snowfall didn't have a happy ending but was leagues better in it's writing.
@@LouisLitt369 then snowfall isn't realistic, the real world doesn't always have some eye opening and meaningful ending, some people just die with no reason behind it at all. It's not about the writing stop looking for some explanation, they just died nothing to it

I never mentioned an issue of them dying or how they died. My issue with the writing is beyond the ending and of the entire final season that pulled a Game of thrones season 8.

They left out a whole bunch of characters from the last season, like Ruben, the two undercover nitty’s, Tash, Aaron etc

Ashley easily put in the best shift this season and sadly got no pay-off. Dushane deserved a better ending because he's the main character, nothing to sugar-coat.
Definitely, they kinda ruined the main character at the end if the show, had him leaving prints an dna behind, getting bumped with no pay back an getting killed running away smh

And they would haven taken those 25 kilos in the trunk. Jaq quit the life so she wouldn't have taken it. Also the Hoodie looks just like the one she wears
Im mad they never really explained dushanes heart condition. This show deserved more episodes and better endings. Last season with jaimie was better
Why are you concerned about the heart condition of a drug dealer? The show was about drugs and the criminal life in London, not heart conditions.

Jaq (for a few reasons via in top boy story & in the actual real world politics "if you get me!" + i did the numbers 🔤 🔢 #gematria few days before the final season aired too which also solidified it) I'll be pretty surprised if it ain't her , I'll post vid with my findings maybe tomorrow
I agree that this season was too rushed with too much stuff putted together without giving the right time for each of them to be explored but the ending in my opinion is very realistic, because every top boy has their enemies so it doesn’t matter who kill them, at some point their prime moment will end. The only thing I didn’t like is that many key characters from the previous seasons weren’t present in the finale leaving many unanswered questions.
Bit of an anticlimax to say the least.... got that Game of Thrones final episode feeling....😢..... They should of run 8 episodes, the big bad Irish mob WTF along with so many loose ends .... They let really let themselves and us down with yhe ending.... sad sad times....
The series would've benefited from a longer final episodes but it was still great.
My only real issue is why jaq took the stash. that didn't really make much sense.

Jaq killed Sully. As it was the only way she should truly get out of that life. Sully was going to take her out and her partner. There will prob be a spine of show about Jaq Mandy and Shell. All teaming up to bring summer house back. One for the female fans of the show.

1. What happened to Dushane’s heart condition? He sure was doing a lot of running under stress with heavy baggage.
2. Dushane has been thoroughly killing and moving strategically throughout the series, but now that he’s older and wiser why would he sloppily murder Jeffery? Why would Jeffery stay around and open the door when Dushane explicitly stated he would kill him if he didn’t find his money?
3. Why would Jaq rob Sully so stupidly? No exit plan. Didn’t destroy drugs?
4. Lauren named her baby Jaq, but no one knows.
5. Irish mob retribution?
6. What happened to Sully’s cousin Bashy?
7. Who killed Sully?
8. Why would Aaron leave Stef behind? Would he have not taken care of him like Jamie would have wanted?
9. What happened to Summerhouse after the riot?
10. What happened to the girl that’s got hit by the police car?
S1 & S2: 9/10
S3: 5/10 - Rushed, Lazy writing… Cheated fans and themselves of a potential classic.

Dushane def deserved better but you get what you negotiate and he was slippin since season 2. It's sad he went out like that but he started making bad decisions! The main problem is all the street kingpins think they can go legit with shady real estate deals and they always get scammed by the white collar criminals. He should have never gave Lizzie his money and should have never stole the food in desperation. Its a cold ending for a cold game and the streets always win.
Exactly. This is just like Stringer Bell from The Wire doing shady deals with the senator trying to get the real estate with drug money. It never ends well when you try to use dirty money to go legit.

I think they should be a prequel of Dushane and sully as kids and they should be a season 4 who actually killed sully and becomes the new TOP BOY,because his mysterious death for me is a cliffhanger,and maybe in the distant future it could happen only time will tell😊

I felt really disappointed with this season all the seasons before we built up perfectly and all the characters had screen time to play out there stories. This season felt so rushed they brang in some heavy Irish mob like they was gonna be their rivals all season then just killed them of straight away didn’t make any sense to me at all! Also they left so many loose ends and didn’t show the aftermath of so many things also I don’t think Dushanes death was emotional enough and also he didn’t have anywhere near enough screen time this series. Sully again steals the show and amazing acting but still think this just wasn’t enough it should of been 10 episodes! Also strange things like they built up Dushanes heart problem from the last series and it didn’t lead to anything I thought that’s how he wound die actually so annoyed with this series

I loved it but I feel it was rushed - there should have been at least 2 more episodes to flesh it out. The Irish and Lauryn storylines came and went far too quickly, for eg.
Honestly, if the season was this short, the Irish never should have been written/casted into the show. They could have worked on existing characters further.
It's crazy how they didn't have a funeral for Jamie or Lauren. Also, a good bit of their characters didn't even appear. That's insane.
The last two seasons were amazing because they didn't cut corners and fleshed out the main characters.
Lastly, I thought Stef busted a ghost move 🥷🏿 on Sully, but it definitely was Jaq.
When I was on episode 4 and the notification that there were only 2 episodes left appeared, I was highly pissed
I don't know why they truncated the show, there was more than enough material to fill 10 episodes without damaging the pace. So many rushed and under developed storylines, so frustrating! Maybe it was a budget issue?? I know the abominable S8 of Game of Thrones was affected by the pressure the writers felt as well their heart and energy no longer being there. The T.B. creative team definitely retained their enthusiasm so it must have been budget restrictions reducing the episode count. It's a shame but the final season is still a class apart from the vast majority of it's peers. Everyone involved should be extremely proud of their work, bravo to them all!!!

We didn’t get to see him shine…didn’t see his operation working…didn’t see the crew making money.
He smoked Jaime, wen to see Dushane at the restaurant right after, didn’t get his shipment, stole some coke, got it stolen off of him, got it back then killed

Season was way too rushed. Should have been atleast a 10 episode arc.. Or, a little like how they did the Witcher show, with a closing single chapter a few weeks from now, after the viewers have had time to chew and speculate on these catastrophic events, a finale covering the aftermath and repercussions.
The very first 2, Channel 4 Summerhouse seasons, backa day, were only somin like 4 episodes a piece, but were like 2 good segmented movies, brilliantly written and paced..
Oh well, guess it had to all end, somehow...

He got what he deserved. He was literally on the run from beating someone to death with a frypan. He had also just shot the younger dude, so I thought it was appropriate and symbolic that he died on the estate with no money after all of the bad things he had done. The way he and Sully died was totally appropriate in my opinion...

Dushane death was the best thing that could have happen to him. If he had left he would have been on the run. Fans of top boy would have also wanted another top boy. Sully killing Dushane was a good call.

Dushane for me is the real top boy but they over complicated things. Having Dushane lose his mind and kill Jeffrey was totally out of character for him. Having sully kill him (accidentally) then having sully killed not sure about that

I dislike the way they are ending Top Boy, this series could be a Power series, with more plots and twists. The characters could be more developed with more up and downs to grow show characters can be more than drug dealers. There is no closure for the characters, no thought put in Season 3, I am not going to watch it at all, and it is a shame how NETFLIX or the people just leave you on some mess.
No he didn't. He got exactly what he deserved at the end. He was always a selfish and egotistical monster who cared just for money and power. He started out more likable than Sully but gradually became just as bad in a different way. Even the loyalty he showed Sully way back in the beginning didn't mean shit to him when his back was against the wall and he decided to rob Sully instead of just asking for the money.

Dushane was a self centered POS, he didn't care about anyone. He never respected Sully and even told sully that he was mad that he was his lil brother. I really didn’t like the storyline of this season. It really didn’t do a good job of completing characters stories & what was actually the point of the Irish in this season?. There was a lot of plot holes & pointless shit in this one. Jaq never even knew that Baby Jack was named after her.

The writing this season was bad. The wire did something similar in the third season but was handled much better and did not feel contrived
I agree. Must have had a small budget to end the series and rushed a bunch of story lines
The show executed what it intended very well. That’s it. The pacing and characters were consistent. Adding a bunch of extra events wouldn’t have made a difference or reveal anything new about the characters. The only ones who deserved closure were the ones who stayed out of the business. Stef, Erin, Jaq’s girl, and Shelley.
This was cool but the AI voiceover killed it and is lazy
