    Another great video! As someone who has spent the majority of his automotive career in test facilities it was good to see the inside of an EV component testing facility. Most often the would never allow someone in with a camera. Times are changing and for the better

      We filmed this on a Sunday and the team did a wonderful job of helping us understand the nature of the work they do. Of course some of the trade secrets and future product were tucked out of the view of our lenses. It is a real joy for us to get a look behind the curtain like this and it is made better knowing that you enjoyed the glimpse, too.

    I love that you do these types of videos. Companies that we may never heard are doing some great work in the EV space, and you are the perfect person to bring them into the spotlight.

      Why thank you, John. We are glad we are not the only ones geeked about all this emerging EV technology right now :) We hope to share more stories like this very soon!

    I'm a Californian but I wasn't aware of either MONROVIA, CA or WEBOSCO!! Like many technologies, CALIFORNIA is first in developing EV CHARGERS!! Thanks for sharing the information about EV CHARGERS!! Again, MISS EV GO brought needed info to consumers about the future of the EV INDUSTRY! 👍

    This was a great video Laycee! I really enjoyed the tour. Pretty sure the EVSE that came with my Bolt EUV is a Webasto unit as well.

      We think it is so cool to go behind the scenes to see how these things are made. EVSE is crucial, but we might not give it much of a second thought.
      Thank you for tuning into this one. We are grateful for your encouragement. Another super fun facilities tour will be published on Saturday morning...it is an eBike factory in the USA!!

      We filmed this on a Sunday. A dozen employees worked through the weekend so that we could tell this story and we were all excited to see how it unfolded. Great crew over there!!

      Thank you Hellen! It was incredible to meet the team on a Sunday and experience their enthusiasm for what they do. It was obvious to us that the team at Webasto takes great pride in what they do.

    Fun to see all those adapters on the office wall! I wondered what had happened to AeroVironment, for they built the EVSE for my previous Nissan LEAF. Looks like they sold that division to Webasto and decided to focus on their aircraft and drones. I'm really encouraged to hear Webasto is working on V2L, V2H, V2G interfaces. I'm not sure I'll ever swap for a 3rd EVSE in my garage, but… those capabilities would tempt me. The tests they're conducting were intriguing! The ball bearing test turned out better than for the… Cybertruck. 😂 You know what I'd like to see them develop? Tesla J1772 and Tesla CCS adapters. Thanks for the tour, Laycee! You're quickly becoming a Renaissance EV expert!

    • @MissGoElectric

      You caught our Cybertruck debacle reference at 16:32! NICE!!
      Their EVSE sure is durable!
      We are also impatiently waiting for V2X technology to develop. It seems a little wild that our Tesla EVs still do not distribute electricity in any meaningful way while idle. The F150 Lightning and its V2H system seem to be leading from far ahead of the pack at the moment. We hope suppliers like Webasto allow more of us to realize the benefits of using our EV battery packs in new ways.

      @@MissGoElectric That was a well done barely veiled reference to the Cybertruck. Like @Mark D Larsen I was interested to see the many adapters: for North America, I see, in addition to 5-15 and 14-50, and 14-30 and a TT-30. I haven't seen those for sale anywhere but it would be great to be able to get them.

      @@charliesullivan4304 I bet they've got the information on their web site about the various adapters.

      @@nc3826 We welcome the V2X content as that market evolves.
      We suspect Tesla will debut V2X when their more robust 4680 cells are in full production. Unlike most automakers, Tesla has already mastered this hardware and software with PowerPacks, PowerWalls, and autobidder. We suspect their decision to limit vehicle battery draw to the vehicle's powertrain is to ensure pack longevity and reduce warranty claim liability.

      @MissGoElectric  Год назад

      @@nc3826 cells have a finite potential cycle count. How does that square with the idea that more discharge and charging will increase a battery lifespan with v2x utilization tacked on to transportation cycles?

    Nice to see testing at 40 below that's what kind of Temps I live in🥶

    • @MissGoElectric
      @MissGoElectric  2 года назад +2

      We see those temperatures once in a while here in Michigan. Those are the times we rely on equipment like this for our lives.

    • @keensoundguy6637
      @keensoundguy6637 Год назад +1

      Inasmuch as it's the standard operating low temperature for automotive testing, it should be no surprise. Ignore the qualification standards and your product will never be used in automotive vehicles.

    Nice to see R&D in this space! I do have one question- the graph on continuous 30 amp charging, compared to the 'competitors' declining amps over time- I thought this was a function of the battery itself, that all batteries slow down the power intake as they get fuller.

    • @MissGoElectric
      @MissGoElectric  2 года назад

      With DC fast charging, the charging curve is largely dictated by the vehicle systems. There are limitations on the delivery side, too.

    Does Webasto make the Dual Level Charge Cord for the Chevy Bolt EV? If so, does it have the same durability and weather specs?

    • @MissGoElectric
      @MissGoElectric  Год назад +1

      They might. Their client list is not entirely an open book. We do know that they build the EVSE to the specifications requested by the automakers and that those demands vary. Each buyer likely has unique cost-to-capability equation which is going to be largely affected by the volume of the order.

      We still have about 8 eBike reviews coming over the next ten days. Things are NUTS around here at the moment.
