So your wife is a unique type of best friend which is essentially the point you make. I tell my wife daily that she is my favorite person. While that is true, she understands that it's much deeper than that. I know her at the deepest level and still love her for all that she is. She is my person.

The women who try so hard to make their husband their "friend", is probably because they dont have the other connecting aspects. Some guys think its ok just to have their wife be there, do their duty, and look pretty... and dont necessarily want anything deeper. I agree with all you said, but some dont have the relationship God intended for marriage. Ive been trying to get my husband to underatand as a woman i need a deep connection, not just surface level. He thinks we are friends cause we can sit in the same room on our phones and thats good enough. Very lonely... Im trusting God to work it out. I tried for 13 years my way and nothing i do or say works. So may God bring us closer.
