- I redesigned characters from The Owl House in my art style using Procreate! This time, I picked Luz, Eda and Amity but maybe I'll draw some of the other characters in the future!

I liked how you decided to make Luz's hair alittle more curly, I didn't find out until recently that Luz is actually Afro-lantina, and I like how people are redesigning her with more curly poofy hair :)
That rainbow version of the school uniform is actually pretty cute. It can work as a double meaning towards Luz's queerness and her neurodivergence. Plus, rainbows are still cool 😊

22:44 I feel like the more simple and close to her og design looks good and makes sense for Luz because she's from the human realm, Amity and Eda are from the boiling isle with magic etc so their outfits would be more bizarre and mystical while Luz would be more causal, plus that outfit just matches Luz, yk?

About the Multi-track Luz design, I think it actually works really well that it's weird or awkward even since no one before Luz was multi-track. They wouldn't know how to handle a multi-track uniform yet!

ToH is one of my favourite shows. Some of the og designs are great and and others I don't like as much. I like your takes on the characters.

I know right? It's a weird angle to draw but once you know how to do it, it just looks so satisfying!

Luz with mismatched shoes and overalls is serving Anne from Amphibia. Honestly I think you could do a lot with the Amphibia trio
i loved seeing the owl house resigned so much. I absolutely love eda's the most. if you were to do part 2 of it, hunter willow and gus. THAT REMINDS ME! flapjack tattoo! but anyways if you did harpy eda in one along with lilith, lilith would def have a bunch of gifts stored in a chest from hooty and have a couple friendship bracelets from him. I was also wondering how you would design the collector. But this was amazing, keep up the great work

It’s actually pretty fitting that Amity has white cats on her sweater rather than black cats since her palisman is a white cat

i like to think this is what the show would look like if it was a graphic novel or manga instead of a cartoon :D the more complex designs just lend themselves so well to the world building, it definitely seems like something Dana herself would come up with if not limited by the fact that multiple people would have to draw it over and over and over for the sake of animation. kudos 💜

Fun fact: fans got mad because luz is canonically Latina (I think) and she has straight hair, so the creators of the owl house gave her and her mom more curly hair at the end and showed a hair straightener in the trash can in the background, implying that they were straightening their hair before.

Probably not something you intended, and idk if anyone else had this thought, but I like the idea of Luz being represented by a star and Amity by a moon. The sun is a star, and reflects off the moon which gives it/enhances it's own light, a lil symbolism for Luz coming into Amity's life and helping her shine with some guidance! But also there could be something to do with the tides since the moon affects the water, so maybe Amity could represent a change in the Boiling Isles
also maybe a little Mulan reference in there too, I can totally see a human version of Amity loving that movie ^^

I really liked these redesigns, the base characters are basically the same as in the show but their styles look so much more developed and original, and all these little things representing the story, like Luz's unmatched shoes or Azura merch. I loved that crock, it's so random and matches Luz perfectly XD Also, I get your struggles with the Hexside uniform, the colour coded tracks make it hard to figure out the way to make it look good, especially the mixed tracks, the colours always clash and make the character look like a walking pride flag. You still managed to figure out a way to make it nice. I'd like to see what you'd do with the rest of Hexsquad if you'll decide to make more of them!
This just makes me think about students picking their tracks deliberately to be a walking pride flag. Respectable
Very nice! If you do end up doing more redesigns, maybe you can do Willow and Gus? Both, especially Gus, ended up underutilized by the show.
I really wish they didn't have to cut the show short! We could have had so many more character arcs

I think if you do another part you should do a redsign of their future outfits from the last episode when they do a time skip because I think they could use work. (specifically Willow and Hunter's future designs)

I can't describe how happy this video made me (hope it makes sense 'cause my English is not as great as I wish it to be), TOH is my recent hyperfixation and I must say that I love seeing artists interpretations of characters, I love how you did these redesigns, they hold so much of character (again, hope it makes sense) and I can actually see how they could work in the show

They look so good 🤩 Your art style is very pretty and I love the coloring and shading! I like how you kept Eda's wild and added to it with the braid and charms. Fun to see Luz with mismatched shoes, feels very in character. I love how different Amity looks with her green hair compared to her purple hair. It works so well to show how much she's grown as a character and breaking free from her mom.

i feel like instead of coloring the tunic to show what tracks you're in, you could put patches on the cape (like a girl scouts badge sachet) to symbolize what coven you're in (or a half & half coven symbol/quadrant of covens)

Luz's hair actually looks almost identitical to the one she has on the show except in your style tbh, I feel like if you wanted to make it curlier you could add a lot more waviness or poofiness or even like a short 3c hair

Best redesign video I've ever seen! I love how you try to maintain faithful to the characters and who they are but your own tweaks and twists on their designs (like Luz loosing a shoe lol); they still look like themselves just with a twist :]
Also I actually adore the multi-track outfit for Luz! It's a bit much but I think that fits her, the outfit looks a tad out of place and off but that makes sense too as there isn't supposed to be a multi-track outfit; I headcanon that she created it herself with the help of Eda, it's an outfit unique to her :D
Also if you wanna do a more curvy character you should 110% do willow next! She's more of a curvy bigger gal

these are really cute! i feel like theres a negative connotation with redesigning characters (probably my own bias lol) but its clear you love this show and these characters, and youre just exploring how you would design them if you led the show.
There's definitely a negative connotation in a lot of redesign videos I've seen. I also had a more negative vibe in the beginning of my GF redesigns. Personally I think it's because we try to give you a reason for why we are making a redesign video when the real reason might just be "idk I wanted to have fun". Though some of the other fandoms I've seen redesigns of are often targeted at young kids so I get if people don't like those designs much.
