- I love when old footage, recorded on proper film, gets remastered. The quality of this show is incredible! Love this version, even though it's a stripped down version of the band in a tough era for them, in my opinion. Love the outro solo so I thought I would pick this one, and I added some muted rhythms were Luke doesn't play, as he's too busy doing a killer job singing. Hope you enjoy! :)

I use a Jackson DK2 Dinky into my Boss Me50, into a 'Lil Wave (providing some Luke style tricky-chorus) going into a Palmer Pdi-09, and secondly, my Free The Tone TriAvatar plugging direct into my interface. I use Logic Pro where I add a little reverb, EQ and for the clean channel, pitch detune.

This is a great job. This song is amazing live. Especially with that outro! Even though Leppard is my favorite, I love Toto. When I was a few years old I overheard Rosanna on a neighbors radio and I was mesmerized. It put rock in my genes that day lol.

Killer job! I've watched this remastered footage so much. Luke kills the Red House cover at this show. As far as this song, I think Luke's best ourto solo was from the Paris 1990 show. Gives me chills every time.

Well actually, this show wasn't recorded on film ... It used the Sony HDVS system which was very new at the time. This allowed the show to have a framerate of 60 frames per second with a 1080i resolution (1125 lines). Meaning that it was really enhanced, because it was already high definition. It was transferred to digital around 2016. By the way Genesis was also filmed using this system for their concert at Wembley in '87. As always great cover and guitar playing : )

Thanks! I try to replicate the guitarists I cover very closely and see what I can learn from that. Luke has incredible phrasing and vibrato that I can only hope to imitate. :)

Lukather is so underrated
Not really. Amongst guitarists he’s very highly rated. It’s non musicians or those that believe the latest pop star is also a good musician are those that have never heard of him.
