My parents wanted me to be a tough too, however my dad never tackled me, nor use it as an excuse to hurt me.
I got "hurt" one time and it was because he was on the floor watching TV, I was gonna sneek tackle him, he saw movement through the TV and put his hand up thinking Id stop, it was in mid tackle unfortunately and i dove into his fist hitting my face 😂 he didnt know i had attacked until I hit his fist or else hed had put it down.
Hes a retired EMT and looked me over immediately. I was dying laughing, my mom was freaking out and my dad apologized.
My face didnt even swell up, i was fine dont freak out.
But even with that my dad was attentive and would have taken me to the ER if I needed it. He monitored me for swelling all evening until I fell asleep.
This guy is straight up abusive though

I don’t know anymore. So many kids are saying their parents are abusive when they really aren’t. Neighbor’s son told his parents that it was child abuse when they asked him to vacuum the floor.😂 Too many kids think that they shouldn’t have to share in the housework, even when they’re the one making the mess. They think the parents should do everything and the kids do nothing. I think if you do nothing you get nothing. No rides to the mall, no allowance, and certainly not a smart phone, if they even get that. This is teenagers and they can certainly contribute to keeping the house clean.

Do you do everything that needs to be done at your house and your kids just use you as a taxi and ATM? Or is that how your parents treated you? I worked for what I got and was grateful for whatever my parents could provide. I was very aware of what things cost and why I couldn’t have everything I wanted. Parents that don’t teach responsibility and a work ethic are not doing their kids any favors. I’ve watched more kids than I care to have a meltdown when life didn’t work like home did when they became adults. They had no idea that they would actually be held accountable for their actions. The boss doesn’t care if your bestie scored last minute tickets for a concert on a day you are scheduled to work. You are expected to still show up at work. Mmmm. This is a tough case. While it may look like abuse to someone looking for it, it could also just be a dad who played with his son who got hurt. Dad probably brushed it off because when you play rough sports you get banged up a bit. His behavior with the authorities could be attributed to the fact that he is a man- society doesn’t take kindly to men taking care of kids, he knew that what his son said , and how he said it, would be scrutinized in every possible way. The moment he saw that EMS needed was angling to separate the boy from him, the dad may have gotten scared that he was going to be in a lot of trouble over what he thought was nothing.
That’s just one way of reading this situation. The alternative is what most people seem to assume.

You are very right I think in this case it was just an accident and the dad got defensive because of how society will often jump to conclusions when a kid gets hurt. And I’m not saying that a kid getting hurt isn’t serious and shouldn’t be thoroughly investigated but I am saying accidents do happen and there is alway that fear that your going to loss something when you make a mistake in this case it’s the man’s son.

Given that his son called 911 rather than trying to convince his parent (gender be damned). There's a problem.

His kid broke his wrist and he didn't seek medical care. It also wasn't the first time "playing" with his son resulted in broken bones. And the child literally said his dad thought he needed to "toughen up." Also, "society doesn't take kindly to men taking care of kids?" What alternate dimension do you live in. You get put up on pedestals just for doing the day-to-day stuff most mothers do without any recognition. Learn to braid your kid's hair or have a tea party with your toddler and you're treated like father of the year.

Unless there is an underlying medical condition, or it's being done to save a kids life, a parent breaking their childs bones once, should be a wake up call, and should always, always have an accompanying hospital trip. No kid should feel they need to call 911 on a parent, or be too afraid to ask a parent for first aid

Um. Are we ignoring the fact that this isn't the first time the son has broken a bone while "playing" with his Dad?

God loves you all. Jesus died for you and me and He can change your life like he changed mine. Instead of living for ourselves we get to learn how to love and live for God. Just check it out, you won't regret it.
And sorry I know it was pretty random to say this on a video like this...
I pray for all the people who have gone through this situation :)

@darchangel8675309 No, no it does not. Doctors do not come to your house due to 911 calls regardless of how much you get abused

@@brix-rb9dgDoctors might not come to your house because that does not happen in your country. It does happen in other places though. In France a doctor will come to your place if you have a severe tummy bug and feel like you cannot go out to see them. Yes, even at night. If a child called 911 (that is 112) in Germany saying they need help you will get an ambulante, a doctor will be on the way, and depending on how the call went you will get the police too.

Shows like this can make the least thing into abuse. Not saying this isn't, just saying rough play isn't always abuse.

One time it’s not provided medical care is given immediately but if a parent keeps injuring their kid during rough play and objects to medical care, then it’s abuse

    • @brindleface9316
      @brindleface9316 Год назад +12

The kid hurt his arm so badly he needed medical attention. The moment the dad refused to help him it became abuse. It’s also not common for parents to break multiple body parts of their kids. You can’t just “toughen” up a bone fracture. The rough play maybe wasn’t the issue, but the lack of care given afterwards.
