We must have visited Bratislava about 2 days later as the ice rink was being dismantled. But can attest to the cold, and an amazing underrated gem that we thoroughly enjoyed.

I’m from Nottingham and been living with my wife and baby in Bratislava for 16 months. Best thing I ever did. Great place. Safe, good city transport, great value, pretty enough, and surprisingly quiet for a decent sized City.

Well you should really go to the other side of the Slovakia. Why ? Different culture, more food, mountains !!! (Tatra Mountains) Go to the Poprad also called the "Gateway to the Tatra Mountains" which is my hometown (I strongly recommend that). You can go to the Tatra Tea factory right in the next town Kežmarok. If you think Bratislava is cold then I can assure you that the rest of the country is much colder
