- This Sweetheart Market Bag crochet pattern is so easy! Welcome to week one of the Marvellous Market Bag Crochet Along! This bag is made using only three crochet stitches: chain stitches, single crochet and double crochet stitches. It is so easy! As is the case with all the market bags in this crochet along, this bag is worked from the bottom up and all as one piece.
The bag is named after the heart shape that is worked using a filet crochet technique (a grid-like pattern where certain blocks are filled in to create a picture or image).
This crochet pattern is written in English only and in American Crochet terms.

Skill Level: Easy
Gauge: 17 sts x 9 rows of dc = 4 inches
Finished Size: Approximately 13 x 20 inches excluding the handles
Yarn: 24/7 Cotton by Lion Brand® (186 yds/170 m; 100g/3.5 oz; 100% cotton; (4) worsted weight). You will need 2 balls Denim
Hook: Size G/6 (4 mm) hook.

I'm crocheting this now . I have a question you have 49 squares on row 4 there's 12 Sq then you have double ch in the 13th sq then you said you have 34 Sq left that's only 47 Sq lol not 49.
The pattern count is off. The instructions are to increase to 144 DC and that equals 48 mesh and/or blocks for each round not 46. The instructions need to be amended to add one more block before the mesh that is the first block of the bottom of the heart and add one more block to the count to finish out the round.

It really frustrates me when the end of the tutorial is hurried and not explained in detail. I’m fairly new at crocheting and straps or handles are challenging for me. I get all this time money and effort into the project then don’t see detailed instructions at the end. 😢
Thank you for the feedback! Do you mean the final join and the weaving in of ends? I can keep it in mind for future videos. Unfortunately the next two bags in this crochet along have already been recorded/scheduled, but I can make sure i include it in the final bag
@@RichTexturesCrochet no it’s straps I have a terrible time with, getting twisted and not easy for me to sc into a chain. It felt like you rushed the strap/handle part..I need to see that part more step by step. I am making the heart bag for my mom for Mother’s Day and had to tear out a bunch because the handles were so twisted. I might have been crying and sweating 😭 hopefully I have it better now, I still have the last 2 1/2 rows to go. Thank you for your reply and consideration for next time. Appreciate it. Not sure I’ll ever make anything with straps again though. I taught myself to crochet completely off YT so it sucks sometimes not ever having had learned in any of it in person.
