I’m so grateful for your efforts. Now the baby needs to find its mother. Why are these elephants so different from the elephants in the elephantnews videos. I know those have been rescued from really difficult situations and have been previously been beaten into submission by humans and are in a very protected place and are fed everyday. I know there are mahouts who control them. I know I see mostly only the videos where everyone is safe and any potentially violent elephant videos aren’t posted. Did the baby really want to hurt the guys?
@@boa9535 There are Asian elephants and there are African elephants.
Maybe the baby was chasing after the rescuers because it probably got attached to them and wanted to get close them and adopt them as his family.
Gemini Genesis: If you watch the elephantnews or Elephant Nature Park videos about China Mai Thailand (also Asian elephants), you will see how differently the elephants are treated. Up till recently the Sri Lankan elephants in the Wild Elephant videos have terrified villagers and the custom is to treat them very roughly, always trying to scare them away from people for good reason. I understand that. I think though people in Sri Lanka hopefully might see that there are better calmer ways of dealing with them. Maybe some day all elephants will be in refuges set aside just for them and managed that way. In the Park in Chiang Mai the males in musth are separated. That might be a crucial element of management from what I have come to understand since I wrote that entry.

These wonderful helpers have gone out of their daily lives and rescued this baby elephant. I wonder who found the baby in the first place. Wonderful outcome.
Those were the officers of the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Sri Lanka. There are about 6000 wild elephants in the island and these officers are constantly watching over them. This baby might have been spotted from air.
Wonderful rescue operation. Lot of thanks to these people who helped the baby elephant to come out of the hole.

All men who participated in this rescue are real heroes. They struggled so much to reach that place. All their lives quite dangerous while undergoing in rescue operation. That baby election definitely remember those guys once grown up will convey it's gratitude ..
