    Very entertaining and informative as always 🤩 The sustain on that guitar is awesome. I owned a K Yairi some years ago, it had a regular style bridge. I believe it was made for the domestic Japanese market. These turn up here in Australia from time to time. That was a nice guitar. It had laminated back and sides.

      I also have an LL16, one of the greatest values ever. I gave it to a 40 yr. NYC famous luthier for closer set up, "Dang, Sean, that's a nice guitar." I told him what it cost, he didn't believe me.

    I was at the K Yairi factory at Gifu on Sep 19 Thursday unfortunately I did not read Japanese n they only have a factory tour on Saturday!! Fortunately they took me upstairs to the showroom n I saw most all the guitars they made n spent my time playing n salivating over them. They would not ship the guitar if I bought one!! I walked up the hill with my wife n daughter from the train station so I did not want to carry a guitar with me to Tokyo . Yairi’s daughter when she saw us out the office n realize we were going to walk that way back to the station had the company van drive us back to the train station which I’m very thankful for the heat n humidity is dreadful.
    I do own two Yairi, a 1986 Dy 75 with a regular bridge and a 2003 DYM 95c Aura with a Fishman built in . I will try writing to order a K Yairi ❤🎸🎸🎸☮️ RIP K Yairi

    I'm guessing that not many of this model will be made with the old growth mahogany. Chris Meikle had said that they will run out of it this year(2024). They will still be using mahogany but it won't be from the 50 year old batch that is being used for the original Honduran series.

    JP I have a question. In many of youe videos you play with a guitar strap. Do you always use one and why. Thank you Sir

    • @JackTheRabbitMusic
      @JackTheRabbitMusic 22 дня назад

      Using a strap while seated puts the instrument in the correct position for his body; If he were to stand from a seated position, the guitar would be exactly in the same place relative to his body. He does not always use one in his own videos, but I am guessing he always uses a strap when he plays live shows.

    I’ve been watching J.P for many years, even though I don’t listen to his music.
    I just respect him as an artist.
    The thing that struck me most in this video is the stark difference between the way artists and salespeople view guitar brands.
    This guitar sounds absolutely stunning; I’m only sorry it’s a dreadnaught and not a 000 shape.

  • @rustythoughts
    @rustythoughts 2 месяца назад

    Is that responsiveness and quality of tone when played with a light touch a feature of the twelve fret body joint, or the shorter scale? Or some other aspect of its construction?

    • @markinmemphis
      @markinmemphis 2 месяца назад +1

      The guitar on the left is standard 14 fret dread. Notice the bridge location, and then look at the bridge location of JP’s 12 fret. You’ll see the 12 fret moves the bridge further into the lower bout of the guitar. This bridge placement should make the guitar top more responsive.

    What's the bracing on that guitar? It sounds very versatile. Great sounding guitar.

    • @AcousticShoppe
      @AcousticShoppe  2 месяца назад +1

      To my knowledge Yairi has their own bracing system called FST6 bracing. Compared other styles of bracing they've done, their newest system uses lighter braces to make the guitars more responsive. Other than that, I don't know the bracing material, it is forward-shifted. Hope this helps!

    Be careful not to make a mistake with the same name -made guitar made in Korea. They steal and produce Yairi guitar's ideas(It’s sold by imitating the characteristic direct coupled bridge of this model.). Yairi guitar's craftsmen are always annoying for inquiries🤦🏻‍♂️ All Yairi guitars are produced in Japan. thanks from🇯🇵🙇

      Since it's a 12-fret it would be more of a OOO shape I believe and unfortunately no. It looks like Yairi doesn't have any 12-Fret OM's (OOO).
